Executive summary
Google is the company taken up in this assessment and for the audit that will be done. The audit will have
the past, present and future records of the selected company’s product and abilities. Google has helped in
making the internet a better place. The main aim of Google was to help people in finding anything
anywhere with an internet connect in a systematic order. Google was established in 1998 but the idea was
inseminated in the two P.H.D students from 1996. Everyone uses Google to find out about the
information related to anyone or anything for that matter. Google does not deal and come out as a
website or internet service. But Google has come up with own ideas of his mobiles, hardware, speakers
and many more. All this has helped in making Google an established company and helps in standing
where it is now (Yun et al. 2019). Nowadays, mostly everyone desires to work in Google and can be seen
as a dream company for more than many people. Everything is important and is done accordingly. Google
workers are also very mannered and want to work in such a way, that they will only get retire from there.
Google has its own mapping sites and provides maps to various companies. From handling various fields,
let it be mapping industry or mobile or home speakers, data storage or any other. Google is seen as the
number one choice for all of this. Recently Google has stated that they would soon enter the gaming
sector as well and will be providing cloud gaming. Name taken for this was Google stadia, in which the
gaming sector or cloud gaming sector will be present. Google has made available software’s related to
wristwatches, cars, televisions which are required in different sectors. Google has also introduced
chrome-book which was a new generation computer and it works completely on the Chrome OS.

Introduction
Google is seen as an evolving company since its birth. Started just as a website, now Google deals in
various sectors. These sectors range from internet services to software and hardware. Also, it works on
the latest technology. Every student wants to be a part of Google once in his lifetime. In this report,
Google is the selected company, looking upon which the work will be done and audit will be completed.
The report will carry the organization and the industry review, in which the company's history will be
discussed first, later the company's performance and capabilities and after that industry's stand-in 2019.

The organisation & Industry review
The organisation and its innovation history
Google was first known as PageRank because the motive behind making this was to know about the sites
which were most searched and rank them in order of their occurrence and number of times they were
opened. But later the owner of Google realized that the website can do more than that and can help people
at various levels. This was the main reason why Google has developed so many things and at so many
levels (Lumb et al. 2019). Innovation was the motto for Google since its birth. Google has not only
focused on internet-based services but has also focused on the software and the hardware party. Hardware
includes smartwatches, television, lenses and so more. All these hardware are based on the latest
technology, which helps people at various levels. Google was first started as a research project by two
students in the backyard of a house in 1996. Later in 1998, it went on becoming a company and was
registered in the name of Google. Many big organizations like Amazon or sun Microsystems have funded
Google at an early stage. Later year by year Google foes on acquiring other big websites shares. These
websites include Yahoo and YouTube. Google products are being used everywhere from a small
organisation to a large organisation, other than Apple and Microsoft, Android is one of the leading brands
in the mobile industry.
It was noted that in the year 2012 only, the annual revenue for Google was up to 50 billion dollars, which
was way more than the avenue earned in the year 2011. In 2013 starting, Google goes on acquiring Waze,
which was a very big company in the name of the mapping services. Google now has its own map, which
is used by many other providers. Google timeline can be seen from the year since 1998 in which it was
established. Innovation in the company at a major level starts from the year 2000 in which Google starts
advertising. This has helped many people across the globe. After that in 2004, Google started Gmail
facility which becomes very popular in a very small time because of the storage offered by the company.
In 2005 April, Google helps in the navigation and by starting and launching Google maps to help people
anywhere navigate. This navigation uses an advanced technology which is 3D mapping technology. Also
in that year only, Google first tries its hand at android and Google talk, a messaging site. It was in 2008
when Google launches chrome which gives out tough competition to the internet explorer or Mozilla. In
2010, Google first mobile was released and was named Nexus. At that time, the mobile was trusted to be
more advanced and useful. It was the year 2012 in which it launches Google play store, where now
resides application in the lakhs. Next came the Google glasses, which helps the user in seeing messages,
using road maps. Also, that was the year in which Google launches its connectivity to the tv via
chromecast. Innovation has started making its way and has helped in making the life of the user better.

The organizations existing Innovation performance and capabilities
Google is seen as the top second innovative company after apple. Google has tried launching various
products in many fields. These products are being used to form the healthcare sector to the gaming sector.
For example, Google lenses which are used in the gaming sector and as well as in the healthcare sector
during the operation of the patient by the surgeon. From the last three years, Google has focused on
delivering those products which are easy to use and handle so that it can be used and handled by any age
people, be a child or an elder people (Apperly 2019). From the last 9 years, Google annual revenue has
been increasing, the first major jump was seen in the year 2012 when the revenue exceeded by 36% from
the last year. This has boosted the company very much and from there new innovations by Google have
been on its way. Google has experienced technology and utilize it in most sectors and are used to deliver
the best product to the user. From year 20113 to the year 2011, the total growth of the company has
increased by 71.6%. Along with the revenue, net income has also increased and touches a very high
value. The difference in the net income is almost 109.1%.
Not only this but in terms of launching product also, Google has increased and moved swiftly. In the year
2011 around 3-4 products were launched but the counting has reached up to 10-11 products or even more
till the year 2018. These products include innovation and additions in the previous products also. In 2017,
Google has launched Google assistant wh9ch is compatible with the iPhone also. Google lens and Google
photos were launched. All these products work on various technologies and do not confide to a single
technology. Using new technologies has helped people from every age and all the things are made easier
for them. It was seen that along with many products launched during the line, some of them were
successful but some of them were not successful. Feedbacks which were generated after reviewing it were
not good for the Google pixel bud; also Google pixel 2 was not much of a success. Company has seen
every phase, but now the company is making its own phase. Company is focused on providing the best of
the best product to the customer, so as to not lose the customer and build their trust and rapport in this
sector. Google was first started as a search engine, which was later recognized to be an internet-based
services provider and its services range from software to hardware (Frensley 2019). For the web services
also, Google has developed data storage using the cloud, have developed Google maps which uses
satellite for the navigation. Not only this, Google has its own Gmail service which is used to send emails.
Google has also given Google docs, sheets for office work and for productivity. Now also Google has
introduced Duo which helps in connecting people virtually through the internet. Google has always been
on its way to explore and innovate more, so as to help students, teachers or any person or profession all

over the world. Its sole motive was to present the information in a structured way for the people but now
has been developing ever since.
From the last three years, Google has first launched Google home, which was used as a device operated
through voice commands. Also, in that year only Google launches Google pixel, which was entirely a
Google product, this means that Google had taken care of the software as well as the hardware part of the
mobile phone. Even revenues of the companies have touched sky, in that year the only company has
bought the HTC company. Company has been expanding and in 2018 it has stated that the company will
expand and acquire more area in New York for its workers. Also, Google has not stopped yet, in 2019 it
has announced that Google is going to enter in the gaming sector as well and also has a plan set for the
future. Google has always focused on its innovative techniques and ideas to deliver the best product to the
consumers (Llamas et al. 2019). The Google currently is working on the finest innovations in the world
that includes the project of Google doodle, project wing, project loon, Pixels, Google lens and many
more. The technologies included in Google to be innovated are filtered through the requirements of the
consumer. The Google assistant introduced by Google helps the consumer to direct their commands to
devices that use the android as their operating systems. Google has also introduced Google home which
includes the working according to commands of the user in the home or the user whose device is
connected to the Google home Bluetooth speaker.

The industry in 2019
The industry that is being looked upon in the entire report is the internet sector or telecommunication.
There has been a certain need for improvement from everywhere and nothing is made perfect,
improvements can be done 30-40 times to make a product better. These improvements or up gradation of
the hardware and software are the result of this. In 2019 Google motto was to make Google easy for
everyone, so that it can be easily operated by a small child to an old lady. This is the reason why Google
has planned to update its hardware and software for the betterment of the people. Google has planned to
introduce a gaming line by introducing Google sidia which will be a complete gaming server for the
people (BShara et al. 2019). Along with introducing a gaming line, Google has focused on updating many
existing products. These products include Android Q which is not yet confirmed but hints are there that
the fusichia or Android Q will be much faster and efficient than the earlier versions. Google has also
paved its way on introducing new pixel 4 with a well defined streamlined design. Also somewhere has
Google adopted apple idea for air pods and is trying to launch pixel buds which will be wireless just like
the airpods and useful for the user. Next in the line is the Google pixelbook2 which was set to be
launched in November 2019. All this work is done to help the users and making everything easy and
accessible for them (Riley & Young 2019).
Google is focused on making technology better for people by innovating and experimenting on new
technology every day. Also, it is sent that the cost at which the Google services are provided is very less
than the cost of other providers. Started from one room, now the company has one of the biggest offices
in the world. And every person desire to work there. As the need of the industry is going on increasing
and also people's demands are also increasing rapidly (Garg & Moreno 2019). This has helped in making
the company reach a higher level and stay in that position because of its innovative thinking and adding
more talented people in the company. Annual revenue of the company has increased form the past 9 years
and starts increasing since then. With the growing use of technology, the innovation is also at kits full
course by using this. For any fresher who wants to work in the industry, his or her dream company y is
Google only, because it has maintained its position and has earned the reputation. Emerging technologies
like machine learning, IoT, artificial intelligence or cloud computing have been very much in demand and
are constantly worked upon by one or the other company (McLean 2019).

Conclusion
It is seen that Google has been emerging since its past and have been developing various products in
many fields and sectors. Also, the company comes at a top position whenever a graduate thinks of joining
a company. Not only this, but it was also seen that in the present also, Google is focused on making its
products better and better. It is like Google has competition from itself only and tries to do everything
better with the coming year. This also brightens up the hope for the future, as Google has already set
plans for the next 5 years. This will help in making the company’s employee motivate and do better when
a goal is set for them.
