INTRODUCTION
Operation management is a process of continuous improvement in quality & functioning of
organization's activities. This presentation includes approaches of operation management
used by Google. Further, this presentation elaborate, values & importance of operation
management in Google. At last, this report explains roles of leaders & managers in
improving efficiency of operation management in the company.

Approaches to operation management &
role of leaders & managers
Operation management is defines as an activity managed by each organisation which
includes designing, controlling & maintaining various procedures of manufacturing &
restructuring all the operations related to production of product & services. There are
various approaches of operation management such as Total Quality Management, Six
Sigma, Lean manufacturing and Kaizen. Google uses various approaches of operation
management for managing development process & operations of the company which
are discussed below-
 Total Quality Management- Total Quality Management is an approach used by
Google according to which all the employees & members of the company give a
commitment to offer better quality products & services to its customers by improving
quality of its products and eliminating errors.

 Six Sigma- Six-Sigma is also an approach which works on mathematical improvement
of operations of Google. This approach helps company in reviewing its operations and
detecting mistakes & errors in operation of the company. Six-Sigma approach
completes in 5 steps and managers & leaders of Google plays an vital role in these
steps. In the 1st stage six-sigma team define various mistakes which are affecting goals
& objectives of Google. In this managers play role of making six sigma team & leaders
play a role of encouraging employees to eliminate mistakes & to achieve goal. After
this team measures performance by using statistical method and evaluate various
factors which create problems.

Value & importance of operation management
Operation management is important because it helps Google in improving its development
process, manages companies supply chain and maintain structure of the business. If all
these activities are improved in the company than it is easy for it to achieve its
objective and provides long term growth of Google. Operation management is valuable
& important for Google in the following ways discussed below-
 Process of operation management is simple and can be adapt by all the organisation and
it its important for Google because it also helps the company in managing all the basic
activities of management such as planning, controlling, staffing, monitoring &
detecting.

 Importance of operation management is it reduces wastage of resources in Google
which leads to profit maximization and helps in growth of the company.

needs & requirements of its customers and if customers are satisfied with the operations
& offering of the company than companies customer base is increases which further
helps the company in achieving profits.

Improvement of efficiency of operational
management
 Leaders & managers of Google helps the company in improving & providing efficient
technique of operational management and if performance of operation management in
the company improves than it is easy for the company to achieve success & its
objectives. Leaders & managers can improve efficiency of operation management in
various ways which are discussed below-
 Managers of Google can improve efficiency of operation management by managing all
the resources of the company including input & output resources.
