Critically debate a current theme
In the gaming market as of 2019, Google has introduced a new innovative technology called
Stadia (Stadia.dev, 2019). This technology is a cloud-based service that the company intends to
initiate in various countries such as Europe, North America, and others. With the help of this
technology, high-quality 4k games would have the capability to be streamed at 60 frames per
second with a high dynamic range. According to Bessant and Tidd (2015), technological
advancement like this would enable the possibility of gamers being able to play A-Triple title
games on low-end devices mobile phones, television, and laptops and others. This would
eliminate any form of hardware requirement that individuals needed up till this point and people
will be able to subscribe to this technology similar to the way in which the pay for services like
Netflix Spotify, and others. In addition to this, a technology like this would have the capability
of making obsolete gaming console devices such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo DS, and
others.
In the words of Christensen (2009), one of the biggest drawbacks of this technology is that it
requires an extremely stable internet connection though, which the footage of games will be
able to stream. In countries such as China, India and others where there is a large population of
gaming individuals who are interested in such services and have a huge desire for such services.
This service will not be able to implement effectively as the internet service providing abilities in
such places is very limited and ineffective.
