Executive Summary
This report outlines the importance and limitations of using the GoToMeeting software as
a communication tool for businesses. The research was conducted in order to assist managers in
making good decisions on which is the best software product to utilize for efficient
communication when conducting business. This paper has clearly stated out the pricing details of
GoToMeeting plus the services given in each pricing plan.
GoToMeeting is an online meeting software which is simple, reliable and effective for
small, medium and big enterprises. It allows for video conferencing, easy scheduling of meetings
at any time from anywhere. As per Google, It is a desktop sharing, online meeting software that
makes users meet with other computer users, colleagues and clients through the internet in real-
time. Any additional information on this product is found in the findings section of this report.
Background
Every business in this era is rushing into efficient means of communication to better
business processes. Technology has largely assisted businesses in achieving better
communication strategies. Many times, business managers and employees are at different
locations, maybe meeting clients or performing other assignments assigned to them for the good
progress of the business (Pearlman & Gates, 2010). This begs for the need for an efficient means
of communication. One most known perfect strategy for communication is the use of digital
video conferencing frameworks. Several technology giants have built different web and software
products to offer such services. Microsoft has come up with Skype and Google, on the other
hand, have the famous Google Hangouts. However, I have been asked by my professor to assess

the services given by GoToMeeting in an effort to assist businesses to conduct efficient real-time
communication.
In this assessment, I used sources from the internet, and resources from the Mohawk
College Library database to consolidate my findings and recommendations. I was keen not to
concentrate on a single resource in order to get rid of any bias from using one source.
The features of GoToMeeting will be brought about in this report together with how the
product is being perceived by its clients all around the world. To better gauge the goodness of
this product, this report will provide a brief comparison of GoToMeeting and its competitors like
Skype and Hangouts. All findings will be given together with recommendations.
Findings
GoToMeeting was developed and marketed by LogMeIn Inc. It comes in different
packages to allow for flexibility and affordability. First, it gives a fourteen day trial period before
you even think of spending money to use it. This allows users to have a good reconnaissance and
gauge whether the product is worth paying for. Thereafter, it has three other plans; a $19/month
starter plan, a most popular $29/month pro plan and a $79/month plus plan. All of these pricing
categories are billed annually. These plans, however, come with a few limitations except for the
plus plan which has all of GoToMeeting’s services enabled. For instance, the starter pack only
has Web Audio, Screen Sharing, 1-Click Meetings, Dial in, Conference Line, HD Video
Conferencing and Call services. The Pro plan has all services offered through the starter plan but
has other additional benefits like Drawing Tools, Recording, Personal Meeting Room, Mobile
Apps, Keyboard & Mouse Sharing and Active Directory. Finally, the plus plan has all of the

aforementioned services together with In-Room Link and Sight boarding (Perron & Ruffolo,
2011).
I addition to having all desktop options i.e. PC, Linux, Chromebook and Mac,
GoToMeeting also has a mobile application that allows its users to join meetings from the
Android devices, iPads and iPhones and also share their mobile screen and documents.
GoToMeeting also has crystal clear audio on all of its audio thanks to its utilization of VoIP and
toll-based options at no extra charge. It also provides for the sharing of up to 25 high definition
video feeds per session, thus achieving an HD face video conferencing ability.
Due to its great integration with Microsoft outlook and google chrome browser,
GoToMeeting has had a very commendable rate of adoption. In terms of public perception,
GoToMeeting has good support on real-time chat and it’s pretty easy to set it up and navigate.
Nobody has ever complained about dropping calls even after using it the first time like many
other competitor products.
In comparison with other video conferencing service providers, GoToMeeting provides
for higher quality videos per participant; that is 640 x 480p. According to www.gotomeeting.com
GoToMeeting has been rated number one in customer satisfaction and is trusted by more than a
million businesses all the world over. This is mainly because it is intuitive for everyone, reliable
and consistent especially due to its 99.9% uptime and clear audio and fast screen sharing.
Recommendations
I would without hesitation recommend anyone who would want to have an easy to
download and use tool to utilize the GoToMeeting software. Among the other competitors,
GoToMeeting contains the best and the most user-friendly interface out of all of them

(Stephanie, 2018). Earlier, I have mentioned that this tool provides for HD videos and crystal
clear audio. These can only be achieved if the users or the business utilizing its services have
access to HD cameras and high-speed internet. This way, I would not recommend individuals
who do not have high-speed internet and high definition cameras.
