This case study focuses on Mr. Harry Pitman, an 83-year-old veteran who fractured his left neck of femur and underwent a total hip replacement. Following his discharge, he is assessed by a General Practice Nurse (GPN). The assessment covers Mr. Pitman's health, including his history of hypertension and osteoporosis, living situation, and challenges in daily living activities like walking, cooking, and personal care. The study highlights the importance of a GPN in providing comprehensive care, including medication management, addressing mental health concerns, and offering recommendations for improved quality of life, such as exercise, pain management alternatives, and support services. The case study uses the Roper Logan Theory model to assess Mr. Pitman's activities of daily living, and concludes with nursing care recommendations to address his needs and prevent further health complications, emphasizing the necessity of a GPN to ensure elderly patients receive proper treatment and maintain a better quality of life.
