This dissertation examines the effectiveness of the Grade 12 English as a Foreign Language (EFL) curriculum, focusing on its alignment with implementation and impact on student learning outcomes. The research investigates the characteristics of the curriculum, its influence on student achievement, and the degree to which the tasks outlined in the 'Bridge to Success' curriculum book align with the required language skills. The study employs a positivism research philosophy, deductive research approach, and descriptive research design, utilizing qualitative data collected through interviews with students, teachers, and local education authorities. The dissertation includes a comprehensive literature review, a detailed methodology section outlining the research approach, participants, and data collection methods, followed by data findings, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations. The research aims to provide insights into the effectiveness of EFL curriculum and implementation in the context of Grade 12 students. The study also aims to understand if the implemented tasks which are mentioned in the Bridge to Success Curriculum Book is in alignment with the required language skills in the class of students. The study aims to analyse the importance of curriculum and its implementation (Kiani et al. 2019).

Abstract
Education is one of the most important requirement in the life of an individual. It shapes the
personality of the person and also determines the standard of life he or she would be living. It is
through education that people get to earn about important subjects. Furthermore, education also
ensures the extent of communication that a person can engage in. For instance, a person can learn
the different languages of the world which leads to the increase in the communicative power of
the individual. In this respect, it is important to understand that English is one of the most
common language that is spoken and understood by majority of the people around the world. It is
through education and the formation of an effective curriculum that leads to the efficient learning
of English by the foreign language students of the world. The aim of the research is to
understand the effectiveness of curriculum and implementation in the context of the grade 12
students who do not know this language and the impact of this teaching curriculum on the
teaching methods of the teachers. In this regard, it can be observed that the research has
followed a positivism research philosophy, deductive research approach and descriptive research
design. The data has been gathered with the aid of primary data collection process in the form of
interview which has been analyzed with the aid of qualitative data analysis technique. The
research study is significant as it analyzes all these important fields in a great detail.

Chapter 1: Introduction
1.0 Overview
Education is one of the most important requirement in the life of an individual. It shapes

Furthermore, education also ensures the extent of communication that a person can engage in.
For instance, a person can learn the different languages of the world which leads to the increase
in the communicative power of the individual (Niehaus and Williams 2016). In this respect, it is
important to understand that English is one of the most common language that is spoken and
understood by majority of the people around the world. It is through education and the formation
of an effective curriculum that leads to the efficient learning of English by the foreign language
students of the world (Alsubaie 2015).
1.1 Problem Statement
Often times it is observed that certain difficulties are faced when a teacher attempts to
teach English to those students to whom English is a foreign language. In this context, it is
important to understand that the formulation of the teaching curriculum and its implementation is
essential for the teaching methods of the teachers.
1.2 Research Aim
The aim of the research is to understand the effectiveness of curriculum and
implementation in the context of the grade 12 students who do not know this language and the
impact of this teaching curriculum on the teaching methods of the teachers.

1.3 Research Objectives
The research objectives are stated as follows –
1. To analyze the characteristics of the curriculum taught to Grade 12 English foreign language
students
2. To examine the impact of this curriculum and its effect on the learning outcomes of the

1.5 Research Rationale
The purpose of this research is to understand the effective of teaching curriculum. This
research study under investigation seeks to explain such teaching curriculum in the context of the
grade 12 English foreign language students. In this regard, the research has attempted to analyze
the importance of curriculum and its implementation (Kiani et al. 2019). Curriculum is quite
significant as it gives a proper frame work to the field of teaching. Furthermore, the teachers are

able to understand what the various topics are which have been covered and are left to cover. The
students also get a comprehensive idea about their course structure with the help of this
curriculum (Adnan et al. 2017). In this regard, the research study is significant as it analyzes all
these important fields in a great detail.
1.6 Research Structure
The first chapter provides a brief over view about the purpose of the research and its
significance. The aim of the research is to understand the effectiveness of curriculum and
implementation in the context of the grade 12 students who do not know this language and the
impact of this teaching curriculum on the teaching methods of the teachers.
The second chapter provides the different secondary sources of literature which have
been consulted for the effective execution of this research. The different sources used are those
of books, academic articles, journals and other such similar sources.
The third chapter provides a brief methodology with which this research has been
formulated. In this regard, it can be observed that the research has followed a positivism research
philosophy, deductive research approach and descriptive research design. The data has been
gathered with the aid of primary data collection process in the form of interview which has been
analyzed with the aid of qualitative data analysis technique.
The fourth chapter provides an analysis of all the data that has been gathered with regard
to the importance of curriculum and its implementation on the English foreign language student.
In this process, the methodology has been implemented for the effective understanding of the
research findings.
The final chapter is the concluding chapter which synthesizes all the given information.

1.7 Summary
To summarize, this chapter provides an over view about the research aim and research
objectives. It clearly states the purpose of the research which is to understand the importance of

frame work as to how the research would proceed in the following chapters of the study.

2.0 Overview
This chapter tries to examine the issue under investigation,. For this purpose various
secondary sources of literature has been looked in to such as books, academic articles, journals
and other similar sources. The aim of the research is to understand the effectiveness of

Since the ancient times, there has been an attempt made by the elders of the society to
pass important knowledge to the younger members in the society. This was done with the help of
oral communication in those times as the method of writing was still not in existence (Lindén,
Annala and Coate 2017). It was not until the development of technology and machinery that the
importance and the need of writing books was felt. From the beginning of the nineteenth century,
books were formulated which began important repository of such knowledge. Those people who
had access to such books were considered to be more knowledgeable than others. Similarly,
