Graduand Teacher Competencies Framework abbreviated as GTCF is an integrated
course that delivers and articulates ITP programs by NIE to make graduates learned about the
basic professional competence in the teaching sector. In reference to the framework, the
student-teacher can learn a lot of competencies such as leadership and effective management
qualities as well as personal and professional qualities (Wong, 2013).
Leadership and Management
Leading and managing the children makes the person to imbibe the quality of patience
and resilience while making decisions and acting upon them. Analytical and observational
skills are highly enhanced as it requires lots of observation in analyzing the strengths and
weaknesses of the children which aid in their academic growth (NIE, 2020).
Professional Practice
Comprehended learning and eventually master in the subject are acquired.
Willingness to work and to provide the best of the knowledge to the students enhances the
motivation within them. Active participation and encouragement of the student in the extra
co-curricular activities should be imbibed along with the academics to improve the
personality traits and the unseen qualities and characteristics for their growth. Creating an
effective learning practice are involved which will make the pupil grasp the study material
proactively (NIE, 2020).
Personal Effectiveness
Caring and supportive nature coupled with friendless and trust is developed which
improves the well-being of the pupil. Implementation of out of the box ideas and opinions
make the pupil to develop self-confidence and encourages to seek quality learning.
Supporting pupil emotionally and making them release the significance of social relationships
with other students make them active and dynamic (Wong, 2013).
