INTRODUCTION
Business functions are considered as departments who ensure that all business operations
are conducted properly. There are several business functions in a company which help them in
attaining their desire goal and objectives such as marketing, finance, operation/ production and
human resource. The main aim of conducting this report is to determine role of marketing,
finance, operations or production and human resources. Moreover it will also include importance
of all these functions working together in effective manner in respect of different organization.
MAIN BODY
Purpose/ role of different department
Marketing – It is considered as department which role is to promote company products
and services in potential marketplace so that they can attract more and more customers
successfully. In Marks and Spencer marketing department plays role of promoting
products at huge level so that they can attract more and more customers towards their
store. For this respective department adopt new, innovative and creative digital strategies.
Finance – The finance department mainly offer financial services to company. the role of
respective function is to provide financial support to other functions so that all work
conducted properly. The Unilever finance department help them in developing effective
budget through which they can adopt new technology, provide resources to employees
according to requirement and conduct change effective (Birch-Jensen, Gremyr and
Halldórsson, 2020).
Operations/ Production – Respective function of a company ensure that all operations and
functions are conducted properly for attaining desire goal. The production department of
ASDA ensure that products are developed in best manner with high quality so that
customer’s satisfaction can be fulfilled. This department also ensure that resources are
used in best manner with minimum waste.
Human resource – The respective department mainly plays huge role in a company as
they hire best candidate for position as well as this department also conduct employees
engagement. This department of Next Plc. their human resource members ensure that
they hire best candidate for their firm so that they will conduct their wok in best manner.

Importance of all department together
It is very important that different functions of business are working together in more
significant manner. This will organisation to work more effectively as well as attain business
goals on time. There are various activities performed by different function of organisation that is
helpful for enhancing business productivity and performance. Human resource function of Marks
and Spencer company is providing training to employees of different departments (Nilsen,
Almås and Gram, 2020). This is consider as important in order to increase the capability and
potential for employees who are performing marketing, finance and operational task. Marketing
function of Next Plc company is identifying the need of customers as well as demand of
products. This is important for providing correct and accurate information to operational
department. Through this organisation is able to create appropriate products which is significant
for the increasing the sales and profitability of business. ASDA operational and production
functions are able to successfully and effectively completed required practices by working
together. Finance department of Tesco company is responsible for providing budget and other
financial resources to different function of business. This is significant for successfully and
accurately conducting business task (Nandakumar and Radhakrishnan Hariharan, 2020).
Through appropriate budgets provided by finance department, marking activities can be
effectively performed. This will help in overall production and manufacturing process of
business. Human resources function is important to motive all employees as well as boost their
performance. Different functions of organisation are liked together and it is essential that these
functions are working together in significant manner with the motive of attaining conman goals
and objective.
CONCLUSION
By conducting evaluation of above mentioned topic it can be determined that for every
company it is essential to manage their all department including marketing, finance, operations
or production and human resources. This is so because these all plays several role in attaining
company goal successfully. Moreover, it is also essential that all department work together in
attaining the desire goal and objective.
