MG408 Graduate Challenge: Reflective Report on Skills and Knowledge

This report reflects on the development of professional skills through participation in three challenges: Apprentice, Presentation, and T-shirt challenges. It analyzes each challenge from a business perspective and reflects on the skills developed, including communication, time management, teamwork, and business acumen. The report details how these skills were utilized and improved during university studies and professional experiences, such as working at Marks and Spencer. It further includes a SMART analysis action plan for continuous improvement of communication skills, concluding that developing these skills is crucial for professional success. INTRODUCTION
The development of professional skills with in an individual plays a very important role
in his life. The development and enhancement of professional skills not only help them to
achieve a successful position in his life but also help them to achieve a good job. For
professional evaluation skills and knowledge is begin needed which assist an individual in
making a vision to achieve all the set goals in a very effective manner(Alam, 2021). If an
individual wants to support the professional life it is very important for them to develop
professional skill with proper planning and perfect discussion. Due to this a proper network has
also been construct. The following report is going to cover an analysis of each challenge from
business point of view and along with this, this report also cover the reflections on the skills, an
individual is going to develop during the challenges.
TASK
Apprentice Challenge :-
This is an issue which help an individual to develop the communication skill in a very
effective manner(Martin, 2018). This challenge help the group of individual to develop the
effective ideas. When I was studying in the university name London School of science and
technology I was encountered with a situation. While facing this situation different types of
skills has been developed within me which help me to overcome from this challenge. Skills has
been discussed below:-
 Communication skills :- To achieve a successful position in life it is very important for
a student to posses this skill with in them. In order to develop this skill with in me various
types of efforts has been done by me. It assist me convey my opinion and to have a easy
conversation with my fellow mates. With the help of communication skill I am able to
overcome from this problem in a very effective manner and without any problem. When I
was studying different types of assignment has been given to me which I have to carry
out with my team members. This skill help me to effectively communicate the data to all
my team members in a very clear manner. This ultimately help me to attain all the
objectives of the task.

 Time management skills :- This skill also plays a very important role in an individual
life. When I was studying in the university this skill help me in becoming a disciplined
person(Cheng, Tsai and Liang, 2019). With the help of this skill I am able to complete
all my assignment which I have received in the university in a very proper manner. Along
with this, this skill also help me in my professional and personal life.
 Team Work :- Team work skill is also being considered an important skill which help an
individual to achieve all the objectives of his life in a very proper manner. In a group
different types of individuals has been present which posses different knowledge and
skill. While working in a group not only the knowledge has been enhance but also the
skills has been developed. This skill help me to to divide the work load among all the
team members in a very effective manner. At the initial time different types of issues has
been faced by me because my team work skill is not up to the mark. But by participating
in more and more group assignment I evolve this skill within me.
 Business skill :- for me business skill is being considered as one of the hardest skill to
develop within me because this skill comprises the adoption of the different set of skill
and capabilities(Nankervis, Prikshat and Cameron, 2017). While face the challenges
during my study time I develop this skill with in me. Now by developing this skill with in
me I an able to take decisions a cording to the situation in a very effective manner. Due
to which goals of personal and professional life has been achieved. While evaluating this
skill I also develop problem solving skill within me which support me to face the various
problem.
Presentation Challenges :-
The presentation challenge is basically a process in which presenter have to focus on the
making the audience hero and make them feel comfortable so that they can easily convey their
message(Fearon and et. al., 2020). When I was working in Marks and Spencer as marketing
team manager. I have to give presentation to my team members about the product, their benefits
and many more things. During the job time I have developed various skills by communicating
with the employees and consumer. Skills has been discussed below:-
 Communication skills :- When I was working in the Marks and Spencer I focus on
developing communication skill with in me. With the help of this skill I am able to
communicate the benefits of the products to the employees and consumer and along with

this solve the quarries of the consumer. With the support of communication skill I am
able to overcome from the presentation challenge.
 Team work :- In professional life this skill plays a very important role. When I was
working in the Marks and Spencer I have to carry out all the task in a group. While
working in the firm I am able to evolve team work skill with in me by coordinating with
my fellow mates. With the support of this skill I am able to face the challenge.
 Time management skill :- in professional life it is very important for an individual to
manage and complete the give task within the set time limit. When I was working in the
Marks and Spencer company this skill support me allot to complete all the given task in
the give time. To overcome from the challenge of presentation this skill help me allot. I
am able to manage my employees as well as my consumer in a very effective manner.
 Business Skills :- When I was working in the Marks and Spencer as a marketing
manager I have developed business skill within me by achieving all the objectives of the
business(Fernando, 2020). This skill support me to overcome from the presentation
challenge and along with this problem solving and decision making skill has also been
evolve by me.
T shirt Challenge :-
Duty has been assigned to me to launch a new t-shirt which shows the company logo.
While performing this challenge different types of skills has been developed within me. The
following skill has been discussed below:-
 Communication Skills :- When I was working in an organisation a task has been
assigned to me to launch a T shirt. Communication skill has been evolve by me when I
was working on this task. So as a marketing manager this skill help me to face this
challenge.
 Team work :- this skill has been evolve within me when when I was working with my
marketing team members. In order to overcome from this challenge I need to collaborate
and communicate with my team members(Hrabowski III, 2020).
 Time Management Skills :- When I was working working on the T shirt task I was
able to develop the time management skill within me. As I need to complete all the given
task within the set time limit due to which discipline and punctuality of performing the
task has been developed within me.

 Business Skills – while performing the task I have to interact with my employees as well
to my consumer and convenience them to buy the T shirt. Due to which I am able to
develop these professionalism skill within me(Junior, 2018) .
An action plan on how you will develop these skills .
For developing the communication skill with then help of SMART analysis has been discussed
below :-
 Specific :- The aim behind to develop the communication skill within me is become a
better presentator which helps me to achieve all the professional long term goals in a
very effective manner.
 Measurable :- The target which are set by my authorities can be achieved by me with
full productivity. Communication skill has be utilized by me to make my professional
career better.
 Achievable :- This set of skill has been achieved by me by perusing the diploma courses
which effectively better my communication skill.
 Relevant :- in order to show relevancy, the result of the diploma and certificates of my
courses has to be taken by me which make sure the authenticity and reliability.
 Time frame :- to develop this skill within me I need at-least 8 months.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that it is very important for an individual to
evolve in professional life. Due to this they are able to grab all the opportunities which are
present in front of them. This report concluded the three challenge which help me to develop
different types of skills like time management, communication skill, business and team work
skill. These skill play a very important role to perform all the different functions like finance,

production and branding. Afterwords SMART analysis has been concluded in order to evolve
communication skill within me to make my future better.
