INTRODUCTION
Graduate Challenge can be determined as a series of events which are planned and
unionised by numerous educational institutions in order to persuade the students to participate in
this challenges and tasks organised by the same. These challenges facilitate in the encouragement
of various skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, motivation, social and cultural
skills. These tasks enabled me to explore numerous opportunities and showcase my talent as well
(Bell and Blackman Carr, 2020). The challenges helped to gain insights about the skills required
for the effective functioning of the business operations. The report highlights upon the various
challenges faced by me and how they helped me in order to acquire important skills. It also
contains an action plan so as to determine my future skills development plan.
TASK
1. Analysis of the challenges
T-Shirt Challenge
It can be termed as a challenge wherein the participants were required to design an
innovative logo for a T-shirt so as to create the demand for the T-shirt and to attract various other
individuals to purchase the same. I designed and developed the logo according to the current
market trends in order to align the T-shirt to the choices of the individuals so as to capture their
interest towards my offering (Kaomea, 2020). In order to do the same, I decided to select the
target consumers whom I would like to approach in order to sell the T-shirt among them. A fixed
and predetermined budget was assigned to me and I was required to oblige the same while
carrying out my marketing operations. I and my team accomplished the respective challenge
effectively. The given challenge or task allows me to learn about the essential of marketing and
the importance of selecting the targets so as to carry forward the marketing operations. It also
helped me to understand the necessity of budgets and how to facilitate the financial activities
within the same. As mentioned by Lisa Holladay, worldwide brand pioneer at The Ritz-Carlton,
(2018), as the world has become more globalized individuals are additionally looking for items
that are bona fide or exceptional. There is additionally an expanded longing for improving from
brands, so buyers can search out brands that line up with their own qualities.

Presentation Challenge
A presentation challenge was provided to us in which the participants were required to
deliver an informative presentation among the peers. In order to deliver the per3esentaion I had
to brush upon my presentation as well as communication skills so as to come across very
confident among the crowd. I was required to be cooperative with the team members so as to
hear their viewpoints and opinions which in turn enables to enhance my listening skills. The
presentation prepared by my team was extremely informative and to the point and our delivery of
presentation was also appreciated by our respective professors. It was a great opportunity for us
to be involves in this challenge as it enabled me to understand and learn how to prepare a
preservation and how to design it in order to enhance its attractiveness.
Hotel Challenge
` The objective of hotel challenge was to educate the students and participants about the
importance of consumer service and consumer satisfaction. The challenge highlighted upon the
enhancement of consumer experience by providing the same quality services. The challenge
required the participants to acquire relevant insights about how to cater quality services in hotels
so as to retain customers in the same (Aizenberg and et. al., 2020). We were expected to identify
the wants and aspirations of the guests and satisfy the same with best quality solutions. The
challenged taught me that pleasing customer sis difficult and task and the service provides should
showcase its best in order to satisfy the same.
Debate Challenge
Debate challenge can be characterized as a challenge that requires the participants to
showcase their argument in favour or against a given topic. It allows the students to express their
opinions and mind-sets about a particular topic so as to arouse the interest of the audience
towards the same. I always had a fear of public speaking but this challenge helped in overcoming
my fear in an effective manner. It also facilitated me on how to raise argument in a respective
and polite manner. It helped me to listen to the perspectives and opinions of other without being
judgemental of the same. This challenge can be considered as my favourite challenge as I learned
a lot while performing this challenge. Also, this could be understood with a good example of
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), where I got the chance to speak about CSR where if it is
considered as a marketing tool or not. Basically, the argument which was presented by me was
that most of the people think CSR is specifically being taken as a marketing tool, which is

somewhere right. Although, the concept of CSR is totally different from it where genuine
organisations like who are seriously looking forward to improve the proficiency level of social
standards then they perform different activities as well. Corporate organizations dislike to let it
be known, yet CSR is for sure piece of an organization's advertising system to fabricate a
positive brand picture among customers. Studies have indicated that shoppers are bound to
purchase from organizations that have great standing. CSR gives organizations the chance to
distinguish the ills that they are a piece of, or are adding to society or the planet everywhere and
address them. It starts with distinguishing the correct social reason to address.
2. Skills Discussion
Communication Development Skills
Communication can be described as a brilliant skill that provides assistance to the
individuals in order to present their thoughts clearly and without any hesitation. I am thankful for
the opportunities provided by the debate and presentation challenge which facilitated me in
encouraging and polishing my communication skills. It helped to be more confident and open
while interacting with others. It also provided assistance to me in representing myself effectively
among large group of audience and be more relevant in my speech as well as improve the
command over my speech (Vakkai and et. al., 2020).
Time Management Skills
The challenge and task allotted to the participants in graduate challenge needed to be
accomplished and achieved within the limited time phrases and deadlines. This helped me to
manage my time productively and allowed me to lay emphasis and priority on the important
functions primarily and then focus on non-essential elements. During T-Shirt challenge, I learned
major insights about the time management as we were given a minimum time-phrases within
which were required to ascertain all our objectives.
Teamwork Skills
Working effectively in teams is very essential for the individuals as it lead to greater
productivity and efficiently as well. Major organisation further divides the employees within
teams in order to make them deal with various situations that arises while working in the team
and cope up with the effectively (Araújo and et. al., 2020). I instilled the teamwork skills while
working on presentation challenge as it required me to be more flexible and coordinated among

the team members. The graduate challenge provided assistance to me in order to learn how to
work towards the completion of a common objective and goal.
Business Skills
All the tasks and assignment involved in the graduate challenge helped me to grow my
current potential and to focus on acquisition of appropriate skills that will help in managing and
developing the business. T-shirt challenge educated me about the necessity for conducting
market research so as to identify and target the consumers accurately and appropriately. Hotel
challenge helped me understand about the factors and element that contribute in enhancement of
the consumer experience and retention of the same in a business enterprise. I learned how to
form budgets and how to carry out operational and management activities and functions within
the same. The presentation challenge helped to identify the necessary components that are
required for preparing an informative and attractive presentation and how to deliver the same
among a large group of individuals with full concentrations and confidence. Hence, these above
mentioned challenges or tasks helped me to enhance my business management skills which in
turn can be capitalised my me while working in real life business environments (Fotiadou, 2020).

The skills acquired by me during these challenges will allow me to develop and evolve as a
professional individual. The action plan formation will assist me to be disciplined and focused on
my goals so as to achieve my aspirations within the prescribes time-phrases and I will cherish
this experience for the lifetime.
