Nursing profession is changing at a fast pace and Graduate Registered Nursing
professionals are facing with challenging job situations every day. We look into the particular
matter of working within your scope of practice. The challenging situation that is being faced by
GRN professionals initially in their job roles is that there is lack of proper assistance as they are
having to work in situations where senior nurses are not available. The patients need special
assistance at times which are being provided in these situations by relatively inexperienced and
improperly skilled nurses. Change is needed in this case. (30 seconds)
The challenges pertaining to the creation of an effective learning process for new nurses
are much important. This is because the issues can have large potential impacts concerning the
overall growth of the career of the nurses. (15 seconds)
In this case there are three important actions that can help tackle this major identified
challenge.
1. Development of better communication between the new GRN and the older experienced
nurses
The implementation of better ICT
Creation of a strong communication network between the various nursing staffs
Creation of a 24/7 knowledge communication system to help the new nurses

2. Better on job training process
Training the new nurses on real time scenarios
Providing better mentoring facilities to the new nurses
