Characteristics of an educational institution
In definition of the term educational institution, it can be said that, it is a place where
people from different age group come to groom with academic knowledge. As an employee
of a recognised academic institution, one can easily observe certain feature of these
organisations. As per government regulation an academic institution must have more than
one building, this organisation comprises of three buildings (Paradeise & Thoenig, 2013). It
is functioned by an instructive agency and funds from the public sector. Along with the
academic instructions, this organisation has arrangement for additional vocational course
special education courses also. This organisation follows the methods of traditional way of
teaching learning to educate the pupils. However, the feature of teacher centric study avoided
by the educators. The modernised method of learning such as smart classroom is a new
technology used by all the organisation now days. Hence, the entire faculty members are
proposing a grant plan for proper funding to the local government. They wilfully try to
implement the teaching-learning method of study in this institution. The state approved
curriculum is followed by the institution to cover up all round development of the students.
Apart from the educational field, this organisation has proper arrangements for extra-
curricular activities. Extracurricular and co-curricular activities bring all round development
for an individual student.
Possible funding sources for Grant Proposal
Funding in regards to academic institutions refers to the required amount of money an
organisation use for the functioning programs. Sources of funding varies in accordance with
various factors that also include whether the school is private or public. According to the
regulations of United States education system, the federal government grants eight percent

fund from the collected sales tax and income tax. Local government arranges the education
funding from collecting the property tax. Public academic institutions face different
challenges due to different levels of funding. According to education system of educational
organisation can get huge portion of funding comes from the local government. This is an
elementary school with four educators and the strength of the student is eighty-seven. A
single period of each class comprises forty five minutes with the subjects according to the
mentioned curriculum. Local Government funding is supportive to grant funds to implement
new technology to the schools. Funding is required to infuse the smart learning technology in
this organisation. The aim of this grant proposal is to buy recent technologies to implement
the way of smart learning with projectors and sound systems. This section of this proposal
seeks the attention of the Local Government to look after this matter of requirement for this
organisation.
Needs Statement
This elementary school has the proper infrastructure that only caters to traditional
delivery of learning. The organisation requires proper funding to make the methods a two
way of teaching and learning process. The infrastructure requires some equipment including
projectors that need to implement in the classroom to make it a smart class. Projectors are
necessary as it engages multiple sensory organs that grows interest of the students in study.
This is important as many higher studies institutions use digital technologies for the
betterment of learning (Leachman et al., 2016). Implementing the notion of smart class at the
elementary stage will help the students to cooperate with these higher studies institutional
organisations. These projectors can be loaded with software related to the curriculum of
elementary education. The schedule plan for the next year of this school is to apply this

digital technology in all the classrooms with smart boards with other required equipment.
This technical way of learning will provide a greater exposure for the students.
Every family is familiar with the use of computer, and computer enhances the way of
learning. Students will find more interest to participate in the classroom by the infusion of the
smart technology. Students now became acquainted with the use of personal technology. The
funding will address this aim made combining the opinion of the higher authority and the
other staffs. As an additional benefit, this smart classroom facility will serve to various way
of teaching and learning that includes picture sharing, videography, and articles.
Management plan
The responsibility of a principal in grant plan is to outline the entire plan. Principal is
the individual to research about the needs and requirement of the classroom instructors and
the mode of instructions. In this organisation, the principle identifies the need of change to
implement in the classrooms to grow student interest. This is a research based project where
the vice principal assist to conduct the survey and making the plan. The duty of the vice
principle also include listing the probable sources of funding in terms to improve the overall
condition of the teaching learning procedure. The core duty of the principal is to shape the
academic vision for success. As an aim of this grant plan the joint effort of Principal and vice
principal will address all the requirements to generate a hospitable environment for
education. The principal also requires the opinion of all the four staffs as they handle the
classroom situation.
The teachers can understand the situation of individual classrooms and individual
students also. Teachers can find out what are the factors affecting child interest and attention.

In conclusion, it can be said that a proper planning is a mandatory component for any
management plan. Academic institutions prepare the students to become a successful
individual in the future. It is the responsibility of the principal to look after the aspects that
responsible for student’s overall development. Funding is required for proper infrastructure
and provide teaching aids to the classrooms. In this grant sproposal, the question of fund
niche is raised to implement the concept of smart class in this organisation. Smart class is the
modern and innovative way to facilitate teaching learning procedure in school to make the
students more attentive in the classroom.
