This report focuses on describing a business idea. Business idea can be defined as a
concept of thought process which is conceived by an individual with a main motive of attaining
financial gain and it is generally revolving around some specific product or service which is
planned to be served to targeted customers in this journey (Krejčí, 2020). This report
concentrates on proposing business idea of a café. The unique selling price of this café will be
that it is focusing on only and only sustainable environmental practices aligning them with the
motive of profitability. Interiors of this café will be totally grounded on recyclable products, such
as, no plastic usage. Furthermore, kitchenware’s that are used by the café to serve to their
customers will also be based on recyclable items and there will no emission of waste from the
café. The emission of items will be easily degradable and will not be harming the environment.
Proposed name for this business venture is “Green Edge café – at your service”.
An evaluation of the external environment
Before starting any new venture in any business line, it is very important that
management is concentrating on investigating of external environmental factors and effects that
these factors have on entrain and survival of this new venture in the industry. In case of proposed
idea of eco friendly café business, following is a discussion regarding impacts of four important
external environmental factors:
Political factors: Political factors can influence the business of an eatery business all
around the world in great manner. To illustrate, some of the political factors are taxation
policies, health and safety guidelines, etc. in case of proposed business idea, various
political factors that impacts the operations are environmental laws, support that
government will provide in exchange of promotion of sustainable business ideas in terms
of using eco friendly products and items.
Economic factors: Economic segment is considered to be one of the most important
parts of external environment and also it impacts the operations of a new venture like
Green edge café in huge manner. If the company want to survive in the market and wants
to establish its name in a long term, than it needs to take care of these factors. In context

of proposed business idea, management should analyze two important factors and they
are cost of organic and eco friendly raw material and also about the level of disposable
income in the targeted market. This will be helpful in formulating the pricing scheme of
the business.
Social factors: There are several social factors that can affect your restaurant business
negatively or positively. Now-a-days people are more health conscious. This means that
they will prefer organic food instead of junk food. This factor favors the proposed
business idea as it is focusing upon making the café environmentally to best possible
extent. In this context, it can adopt the practice of sustainable menu developing process
which involves only inclusion of organic food items in the menu (Nguyen, 2018).
Technological factors: this is the most dynamically changing factor in the external
environment as it involves the technological changes which are improving with each
passing day. Café should adopt all possible changes in the technological environment so
that it can match up the pace of fastest growing environment.
