INTRODUCTION
This report is based on Greggs which is a leading British bakery based on scenario of
food-on the-go market. The strategic purpose of this report is to identify current issues running in
this business entity and relates it to CSR project to bring effective business sustainability to
continue business for longer stage.
Company overview, issue and recommendation
Greggs which is a leading bakery brand in British is well known for its customer value
delivery and drive service preposition in an effective manner. From being as small bakery to big
brand name, but still as like other business, they are facing with an issue of ineffective leadership
or management regulation towards their employee holding or controlling business functioning at
larger context (Deng and et. Al 2013). The major reason is transformation of business
functioning from traditional culture to formal basis, which has simply caused load to employee
motivation and confidence at the larger point of time. This issue is critical and needs the urgent
and instant solution for given point of time. It was analysed that ineffective leadership has comes
up from large employee's base along with lack of regulation or supervision on how they are
working and what culture firm is using such as individualism or collectivism.
To overcome this issue, it is recommendable that Greggs must focus on democratic style
of leadership, in which importance must be given to team work or their each and every efforts
with equal consent or justification. Also, Greggs should give priority to collectivism culture, in
which employee's should come together to share an individual idea or opinion in benefits or
profit based outcomes. It was noticed that in democratic leadership style, decision making is not
under control of one common person, but priority is being given to different team individual to
make purposeful decision making and product based centric idea for development of company's
goals and objectives over period of time (Brammer and et. Al 2016).
Benefits of CSR projects
Corporate social responsibility(CSR) is a self regulation based business model, that helps
a business entity for being act as socially accountable, whether to self, its stakeholders or public.
It is also known as corporate citizenship. As, Greggs is suffering with an issue of leadership with

no results or lack of effective management, in response, it could be as a reason of being lack of
social accountability, because Greggs has transformed its traditional working into business
formal working. This is a reason, why employee's are suffering with an issue of lack of support
or confidence. CSR is a source of major accountability which should be linked to democratic
leadership style to get its efforts to bring a source for being worked with responsibilities and also
contribute towards social development or welfare for long term support of Greggs. The benefit of
CSR into this strategy is to bring a taste of motivation or confidence in an environment to led
opportunity to grow longer.
Greggs has been undertaken several activities such as improve labour policies and led to
implementation of fair trade, change corporate policies to benefits the environment and also
make socially and environmentally conscious investment for business advantage or long benefits.
These CSR projects has been undertaken by Greggs through practices of strategic source
of planning and decision making to enables it for development of society and diversifying
structure of Greggs to led functioning in an effective medium (Servaes and et. Al 2013). Also,
this will be enables Greggs to work along with clear efforts and designed goals or objectives for
longer period of time.
Possible impact of Brexit
Brexit is short terminology for removal of United Kingdom from an entire European
Union, as it has put major consequences on business units working in an entire UK. Especially in
context with Greggs, this has led higher cost in different food products such as Sausages, rolls
etc., and this will increase budget planning for next five years by Greggs, while in case of higher
growth in business regulation. This has break relationship with other nation in EU to maintain
easy facilitation and availability of raw material and long term relationship with supplier to ease
prices and buying for customers. Brexit has impacts over profitability of Greggs through
depending on previous supplier or increased prices of raw material to produce bakery products
for earning higher profitability (Cheng and et. Al 2017). The impact of Brexit has brought down
business operations of Greggs on higher mode along with decline in profit from longer period of
time. Also, removal of UK from EU has broken up long term relationships to operate business at
a longer stage and with increased trouble for business entities who are operating in UK at both
small and large scale to earn higher profits.

Reflection
It has become necessary to do self-reflection on self basis or working as one common
entity for longer duration of time. Greggs which has been suffered with an issue of ineffective
leadership or management regulation which they can use for business benefits. While applying
democratic leadership style, my experience was far better along with increase in knowledge and
information for longer period of time (Cheng and et. Al 2017). My preference was actually
giving freedom to other team members, so that they would share their views or opinion in an
effective manner to facilitate business with increased growth or condition.
Apart from this, I have faced several benefits and challenges, while implementing this
leadership style such as listening to each and every team work and sometimes faced arguments
which were intentionally taken by some employee's, who were not agreed with this style. Along
with this, benefits was empowerment of employee's who were to do so and led environment in
which they can learn a lot to gain effeciences.
After doing as such, I realised that, I need more polish on my verbal communication
skills and skills related to people confidence and motion to increase their performance for longer
stage of time. In simple words, I needs to have complete outlook into my personality and led
change in attitude to have effective personality and decorum.

CONCLUSION
From the report, it is concluded that CSR is necessary to have ethical and social work
regulation with motive to have welfare and development of social and welfare aspects. Style of
leadership has become necessary to uphold work based relationship in any business entity to
have common working and accomplishment of goals and targets.
