Research Title: “To evaluate the importance of grit on student development and learning
process”.
INTRODUCTION
Virtual learning is a a learning experience that is part of education technology by use of a
web based platform for different aspects of study courses that is part of different educational
institutions. There is presentation of resources, interactions and activities as a part of course
structure. It is used for providing different areas of assessment (Chen, 2016). The use of
computers and internet has revolutionized the process of studying for students and it has lead to a
complete transformation as there is haring of ideas in a matter of seconds. Present report is based
on making a detailed evaluation of the aims and objectives according to the report title by
application of literature review and secondary available sources of information. According to the
collected information further there is evaluation so that there can be recommendations that are to
be drawn to reach to further conclusions.
Aims & objectives:
Aim: “To make a evaluation of the techniques of virtual learning on student development and
learning producers in universities”
Objectives: the objectives of the present research work are mentioned below:
 To understand the basic concept of grit
 To analyse certain elements of Grit learning
 To evaluate the effect of grit on student development and learning process.
Literature review:
To understand the basic concept of virtual learning
According to views of Eshna verma, 2018 the world toady is changing very fast and is
rapidly progressing with the use of technical applications for the purpose of communication and
passing of knowledge. The traditional classrooms and knowledge acquisition is limited to the
information provided by the instructor (Pletz and Zinn, 2020). There is requirement to connect
student with the external work so that there overall abilities can be expanded. It leads to
establishment of connection with student is that there abilities can be used for constructionist of
new knowledge.

Grit leads to better contribution of students as they are stick to enhance their presnet level of
contribution with high amount of consistency and concentration towards their assigned tasks in
classroom (Khlaisang and Songkram, , 2019). Grit learning can be coupled with face to face
instruction that is further called as blended learning (How does grit impact college students,
2020).
Evolution of Grit learning: the last decade has transformed the procedure of Grit learning in a
radical manner. In early times the courses offered for Grit learning is now typically customer
created by different groups of programmers that are aided by software creating tools. With
further advancement in technology there is creation of a worldwide web that leads to creation of
Grit learning courses for simple task.
To analyse certain elements of Grit learning
According to , there are different types of Grit learning ways in which there can be sharing from
the instructor to students. A informal distribution of Grit learning is the one in which students
are trusted to view the available course material and are not tested or traced for the completion of
the assigned tasks.
Learning management systems are used for the objective of tracking of sectors to ensure that the
students stands for each of the courses are maintained (Alves, Miranda, and Morais, 2017).
These are the platforms that is enabling the used for creation of online courses and helping
students to access these courses. These platforms are varying according to the type of capabilities
some may be costing or may be offered at free according to the capabilities.
There are certain elements of Grit learning such as:
The role played by instructor and teacher is vital as they have to offer timely feedbacks to
students.
There is need of a well organized learning management systems that has to be navigated both
by the instruction and the student
Learning material is the key feature of Grit learning. Course material has to be formatted in a
way that can be simple and also easily accessible to students. This leads to students focussing on
learning through course works and classroom learning enthronement.

Communication is a crucial aspects in Grit learning process. It leads to enhancement of online
coursework from instructions so that there can be presence of different communication modes
and delivery methods.
There are a myriad of devices that is enabling each and learners to share the required
knowledge. The trainer is further connecting with the listeners and viewers by use of voice
communications, multimedia, videos, product demonstration, orientation, text chats across
internet. Grit learning is a tool that can lead to higher flexibility for learners as they can access
the material whenever they want to use it (Callaway, 2020). Students who reside in distant places
or do not posses tome to be with the instructor have the luxury of choosing the time according to
their convenience to through their college course work. Grit learning does not limits students
access to complete course work.
It is highly cost effective as there is saving of travelling cost, accommodation cost. Further the
time spent is also saved by use of Grit learning as a tool.
Grit influences in academic level
Students are having preferences for different variables according to which they are
willing to grit is a non cognitive factor that has to be be incidental to positive educational
outcomes. There are some of the positive variable that are related to stronger positive predictor
of academic performance. There are certain positive variables such as positive effect, hope &
family relationships that can foster the grit (Johannessen, 2020). It leads towards better findings
and importance of reinforcing of grit so that there can be nurturing of students and enhancement
of potential.
To evaluate the effect of virtual learning on student development

procedure on students there is need to focus on several elements that are shaping the behaviour
of students such as previous experience with Grit learning is a key factor in preparedness as it
reported by Barners and Noble education.

The setting of Grit learning environment is also a significant factor in this procedure of student
learning.
there is better participation and interaction as opposed to physical classroom meeting. It assist
students to have free interaction and understand the concepts in a more better way. The instructor
can offer a situation of complete attention for a longer time period that is not possible in
conventional classroom.
There is high amount of consistency in the way course is delivered. There is presence of flexible
time tables for students as compared to traditional time tables of classroom that are highly rigid.
With the changing external environment such as in the situation of present COVID outbreak it
becomes necessary to avoid physical contact that has resulted into avoiding of physical contact
so that there can be no interpretation in Grit learning process of students.
Teachers are focussing one the engagement process to enhance the Grit learning
experience of students. But 55 percent of students are still struggling with the lack of social
interaction. They are not able to learn and they may lead to a long term impact on the their
underperformance in academics. Students are having a strong desire to build up in person
connections which they are not able to build up in the online leaning environment (Aslan and
Duruhan, 2020). Further the abrupt changes in lifestyle, has left many students struggling with
the way they can succeed academically. Many researchers are showing that in person courses can
be more effective. The social environment is motivating students to perform better and enhance

transformed the way the future of online education will be shaped. The overall teaching practises
has resulted into a learning and teaching landscape that is evolving with emerging vision of post
crises education scenario will be beneficial for Grit learning procedure in long run.
According to views of Churchman, ackoff, 2019 system theory is based on a holistic
approach and development of a clear understanding of the true ends, ideals and aims of the
human created systems. There is a need to develop a clear understand by analysing the two
different parts of a study that is analysis and the understanding of the whole part (Hirshberg,
2017). Analysis is related to grit as it helps in providing the knowledge and synthesis leads to
development of detailed understand. All this is part of a larger system that cannot be divided in

independent parts but the properties are derived because of interaction of its parts (Systems

When student are focussing on grit learning then they are able to focus on the probables
with a specific pattern of thought. Another associated method is called analysis where there is a
need to develop apprehension of the system way a entire culture is built (Morgan, 2019).
In universities for inculcating better learning process for synthesis there is use of proper
analytical thinking that leads to each part that is attempted by integration of parts in the whole
system (Systems Thinking with Dr. Russell Ackoff).

well (Lacka and Wong, 2019). There are mainly two forms of data collection techniques that is
primary as well as secondary method, which are as follows:
Primary Data Analysis:
It is referred as data which is collected for the first time and is original in nature. The
researcher make use of such form of technique so that they can collect information from the
target segment and gain understanding about the particular topic (Aluja-Banet, Sancho, and
Vukic, 2019). There are various methods of primary data collection that is questionnaire,
interview, focus group, observation and so on. It is determined that primary data help
investigator to gain relevant and effective information that has influence on research outcome in
a positive manner.
Secondary data analysis
It is a form of data collection method that involve information which has already
collected by experts (Chui, and et. al., 2020). The sources of secondary data are Journal papers,
articles, magazines, books, internet, websites and so on. It is stated that secondary data is easy to
collect and analyse as well.
In the present research, literature review as a secondary source of data collection is used.
It help researcher to gain information in an easily that does not involve high time and cost as
well. The main reason of using secondary data is to collect relevant information that draw valid
and reliable conclusion of the research.
Recommendation
By analysing the above information, it is determined that it is important for students to have
digital skills as it help in learning and development process. In addition to this, increase in virtual
learning environment is directly impact on the behaviour and attitude of students. Therefore, it is
significant to analyse the influence of e-learning on students grit learning impact in a proper
manner. Some of the recommendations is given below:

 It is suggested to students to focus on improving their digital and technical skills so
that they can catch the information and understand it in a proper manner. In addition
to this, virtual learning becomes the major part of education industry and to gain
learning, digital skills is important for students.
 It is recommended to evaluate the Grit learnings of students as it help in gaining
understanding about what extent students gain understanding from the virtual classes
or learning. It help in making improvements that impact positively on performance
of students in a positive and effective manner.
 It is also suggested that proper measures of safety is to be adopted at the time of
executing virtual learning so that students gain proper information and knowledge as
well.

Conclusion
From the above mentioned aspects it can be summarized that there are different aspects
that are part of the Grit learning environment that is assisting in the process of student
development. In the situation of COVID outbreak this technology application has lead to no
barriers in the process of student learning. It is creating a scenario of better connectivity amongst
students and teachers without least number of barriers & hindrances. Sometimes students are
facing difficulties related to not being able to cope up with the changing nature of technology
and no proper interaction it leads to a negative impact on their overall mental state and affects
Grit learning process.
