Reflection can be defined as the technique which allows individuals to share their
personal feelings and thoughts with others to provide them information regarding their
experience which was acquired by them while an event. While writing a reflection, it is vital for
students to make sure that they are writing such things that have happened actually (Redmond,
2017). With the help of it personal learning can be reflected to others. In order to reflect my own
experience regarding the group presentation I am going to write a reflective journal which will
cover critical evaluation of the strategies that are used by me while working on the tasks. Along
with this, areas for development are also discussed under this journal.
At university the lecturers formulated different groups of students who are going to give
presentation. First of all all the members in teams are responsible to select a topic for project. It
was the first and biggest challenge for me and my teammates. At this time various conflicts have
taken place between me and other members in group because we were not able to be agree on a
same topic for presentation. In order to deal with such types of issues we decided to take
guidance from our lecturers by selecting some best topics. We met with one of the lecturer at
university and asked him to provide suggestion for the right topic for our project. We got
appropriate guidance and decided to work on one selected topic. When we were in the conflict of
deciding topic for the presentation I acted very aggressively which has left negative impression
of mine in front of all other members in group. Due to this they also did the same with me which
created a gap of communication between us. Apart from this, main goal of all of use is to deliver
the presentation appropriately and fulfil expectations of our teachers. The conflicts among all the
team mates affected our project negatively and we missed to score the higher marks as compare
to some of the groups.
While working on the presentation all the group members decided to allocate
responsibilities so that the presentation could be completed by us in given time limit. I was
responsible for combining the matter which is collected by all the other people in team. In order
to deliver a best presentation all of use ignored our personal issues with each other and worked
hard. While preparing the PPT again conflicts took place regarding the information and design of
it. At the end we prepared it and tried to make sure that it fulfils the guidelines that are set by
lecturers. In order to complete the project Belbin's role model is analysed by us and used to set
roles for each team member (Ryan, 2015). As my role is of compiler of file so I collected
information from all the group members and analysed their matter. I made some changes in it

which are adding punctuation marks, resolving grammatical errors etc. While working on the
project I tried to be perfectionist so that it can bring perfection in project of mine and my
teammates. At the end we finished the compilation and worked hard on the creation of
presentation so that we can meet the expectations of lecturers.
At the end we planned for delivery of presentation in which I was the first person who is
going to introduce it to the listeners and other people that are sitting in the room. I tried to
motivate all the group members and told them to be confident and positive. We all have
discussed about the gestures and postures that are required to be focused at the time of delivering
the presentation. When I was on the stage I stayed calm and acted confident and started to deliver
it. When I finished with my content other members of my team came forward and all of them
completed their part of presentation. We all ignored all previous conflicts and worked as a team
at the time of presentation. The best thing which happened was that we completed it successfully
our lecturers were happy (Tsang, 2017).
In conclusion I would like to add some more things that I have learnt from this project
which are benefits of team working and communication as both of them has helped to deliver the
presentation appropriately. If I get the same change in future then I will make sure not to be
panic, hyper or get angry on other as it can leave negative impacts upon relations and the project
in which various people are working.
