Introduction
This study is a self reflective journal over a group presentation that we have already
made. Group presentation will be discussed in detail in this paper along with the
learning that we achieved during the presentation. Additionally, Belbin’s team role
theory will be used in this paper as well for further improvements.

Discussion
Group presentation is a group performance; these are not like solo presentations
(Parks, 2018). Every team members are required taking active participation for better
presentation. In order to complete our group presentation, I have used some strategies
that such as preparing, presenting and pitfalls that are useful for presenting a great
group presentation. I have divided the exhaustive activities to conduct the group
presentation among the team member so that the group presentation can be made in
better manner. Our group has five members. Two individuals out of them had the
responsibility of preparing the presentation, where they focused upon previewing the
agenda as well as announcing the main points. They left time for revising text as well as
graphics from notes into a form that better suited for the oral presentation. Another two
individuals from the similar group were responsible for rehearsing with the group,
checking out the room and equipment, checking timing, facing the audience and
presenting the audience a better experience of group presentation. I was in the group
presentation for reducing the common pitfalls such as checking spelling mistakes,
checking not using slides in effective manner and others to present the group
presentation in a significant manner.
During the presentation, I such had noticed some gaps of areas of development. Lack
of presentation capability, lack of creativity, lack of team co-ordination and lack of group
performance were the common gaps that I had noticed during the group presentation. In
order to reduce down these gaps, I had used some tricks or strategies. For an instance,
I realized that providing a clear idea of the presentation could make the team members
united that could impact over their team performance as well. Team members were free
to talk to each other so that they could better share their opinions and visions regarding
the presentation (Bolman and Deal, 2017). Creativity is such required for better group
presentation that can assist to make the presentation different compared to other
ordinary presentations. For building this skill, I also had encouraged them and facilitated
diverse way of working.

However, I used Belbin’s team role theory for better judging and extending the
performance to their maximum level. As per this theory, most effective teams were
made up of a different mix of behaviors. Through using Belbin, it is possible to build the
most effective and balanced team (Meslec and Curşeu, 2015). Belbin had stated nine
effective roles implementer, plant, resource investigator, shaper, monitor, coordinator,
team worker, complete finisher and specialist. In this group presentation, I had played
the role of team worker that is the most sensitive member of a team. During the group
presentation, as I played the role of a team worker, thus I was helpful, accommodating
as well as concentrated upon building pleasant environment and sense of togetherness
so that the presentation could be made and presented to the audience in significant
manner.
Furthermore, I had noticed many of the positive and negative sites of the role during the
group presentation. I have a tendency to talk too much once the team gets onto new
ideas. I also have an aptitude to influence people avoiding pressuring the group
members and I am always ready for providing a good suggestion that was considered
worthwhile during the group presentation. Being a team worker, I have an interest of
getting to know my other team members in better manner. All these positive sites were
helpful in completing my group presentation. Apart from that, there were also some
negative sites. For an instance, I took more time to make understand the other team
members about the importance of group performance. I also found this difficult for
getting started unless targets are clear; many of the times I failed to provide a clear goal
to my other team members as well that must be listed in the negative sites as well.

Conclusion
From the above discussion, this is possible to conclude that group presentation can be
helpful in enhancing team performance and influencing coordination skills. Belbin’s
team role theory is another important consideration that has helped me to enhance my
coordination skill that is crucial for working as a team and develop team managing
power. All the learning that I have gathered during the group presentation, have been
evaluated in the above section for better understanding of this self reflective journal.
