INTRODUCTION
Reflection is one of the most important aspect as it helps in analysing as well as evaluating
various factors that carriers a lot of value in the current market situation (Grimard and Pellerin,
2018). In this report there is a brief discussion about the Belbin model that was first coined by
Meredith Belbin in the year 1981 and it is one of the most essential model in evaluating various
things that are directly and at the same time closely related with reflection and I have used it in
an appropriate manner so that it can add to the value so that it can prove beneficial for me in the
long run. Apart from that this report also covers different models that proved pretty helpful for
me while doing reflection and that are Tuckman’s model, Gibbs model, Egan’s Skilled Helper
model, etc. Further in this report detailed analysis of the cycle of change has been done by me in
order to do reflection in an effective and efficient manner.
MAIN BODY
Detailed evaluation and analysis of different types of models that prove helpful for me in doing
while doing a proper reflection
As it is said that team work makes the dream work because if there is a team allotted for a
doing a specific task it will help in the development of each and every personnel as a whole as
well as it will also contribute in achieving the tasks of the organisation in a precise manner.
While doing a reflection there are certain models that I used and they also proved crucial in the
overall development and the most important one from them is Belbin model and it is described
briefly below with all other models-
Belbin model- It is one of the most essential model that I came to know while doing a
proper reflection as it helps in determining the behavioural tests according to the team
that is doing a specific task. It is a model that helps in identifying the possible strengths
and weaknesses that are related with behaviour and further results in detailed formulation
of plan regarding this aspect. It helped me as I understand the nature of each and every
person that is working together as a team and also proved critical in leading the team in
an effective and efficient way. This model defines the role of each person that is working
as a part of the team so that it would result in accomplishing the task and that too within a
limited period of time. I think that it changes my perspective of seeing things and made
me more realistic and dedicated individual as a whole. As it helps in analysing a pattern

of behaviour and characteristics and thus enabling me to adjust to the changing situations
in an appropriate manner (Hannon, 2018).
Tuckman’s model- This is a very crucial model and it involves four stages as it classifies
as well as summarise all the activities that are done in those stages that are forming,
storming, norming, and performing and all of them are explained in detail below-
Forming- It is the first step as in it individuals are selected to perform a task in an efficient
manner so that it can add to the value of that firm in the market in which it operates. In it
managers and high level authorities have to give a detailed explanation about the roles and
responsibilities of everyone so that it would clear all the uncertainties. It helped me a lot and I
gained enormous knowledge as I came to know different aspects that are very much important as
well as essential while forming a team.
Storming- In this step an understanding is made in the formed team so that decision
making can be done appropriately, though in it relations between the co employees are not very
much clear but the purpose of formation of team is clear enough to every person that is a part of
the team. In this I understood various factors that are responsible in building a team and it will
prove useful for me in the long run (Mamas, 2018).
Norming- In it there is an environment is built within the organisation that helps in
building a sense of belongingness in the team by making every aspect clear within the team and
work in formalising the team starts after this stage. It helped me a lot in observing and
understanding many things that are closely related with the team work and effort that helps in
achieving the objectives.
Performing- It is the final step of this model as in it the actual performance begins and each
individual works towards a single aim that is to accomplish the goals that are laid down while
forming the team. I understood a lot of things and it will also help me to grow as a person too
like formation of strategies and evaluating it in effective way.
Egan’s Skilled Helper model- It is a model that involves three stage process that is the
evaluation of the current scenario, analysing preferred scenario that is the future position,
and last is the strategy formulation so as to get to the desired future position within a
limited time frame. Al these are very much important in the current time as it is related
with setting standards and then formulating strategies to get to the set standard in an
efficient and effective manner so that it can add to the market value of the firm. In it to

become a skilled helped one has to acquire all round knowledge so that it can lead to the
overall development of the individual as well as the organisation for which the person is
working. I gained a lot of knowledge, information, skills while doing a reflection on the
basis of this model because it helps in understanding the things in its wide aspect so that
each and every part can be used in a precise manner (Morita and Takagi, 2018).
KOLB Reflective model- It is a model that includes four stages or steps in which all the
operations of the business are summed up in an effective manner. The four stages are
described below in detail-
Concrete experience- It is the first stage in which the individual must have a proper
knowledge as well as experience so as to perform the activities of the business in a manner that
is desired by the higher authorities. It is very important to appoint such individual that fulfils all
the requirements of the position.
Reflective observations- After the first aspect review of the experience and knowledge is
done so as to do a cross verification of the individuals that the person is fully capable of
performing all the tasks in an effective manner or not.
Abstract conceptualisation- It is a step in which a detailed research is done so that the past
experience would result in gaining enormous knowledge that will subsequently prove helpful in
the long run and other activities that has to be performed in the near future.
Active experimentation- In it regular experimentation is done so that new things could be
find out so as to apply results of that in an impactful manner that will prove beneficial from the
growth and development’s point of view (Osgerby, Marriott and Gee, 2018).
Gibbs model of reflection- It is a model of reflection that involves three stages and all of
them are explained below in detail-
Description- It involves describing the things that are happening in the organisation or in a
particular group that has to perform the task.
Feelings- In it feeling of the individual are analysed so that appropriate as well as necessary
decisions can be taken according to it.
Evaluation- In it a detailed evaluation is done about the good and bad aspects of the things
so that each factor can be evaluated in a precise manner.
Analysis- In this an analysis is done so that things that can be done in the near future can be
analysed on one by one basis.
Document Page
Conclusion- It is the second last step in which things that could have been done are
determined in a systematic way so that it can prove useful in the future.
Action plan- It is the last stage in which a plan is formulated so that if the same situation
arises again then it could be performed in a much better way than this (Park and Kim, 2017).
CONCLUSION
From the above it can be concluded that in gained a lot of knowledge as well as experience
while doing reflection of the process that has been done by me and the whole team. Apart from
that it can also be concluded that there are different models that are used while doing reflection
and all proved very beneficial for me as it helped in the overall growth and development.
