ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR 1
The impact of this phenomenon on effort of group members and the implications for
organizations”
The paper brings a discussion about the group works is more productive than the individual
work. Globalisation is the process of interaction and integration among the people all over the
world. Globalisation has grown advance in transportation and in business as per the spreading
business in different areas. Expansion of business in the other nation is directly contributes in
the economic development of a country. A large number of employees are required for an
organisation to go for the expansion. The organisation is structured in two different ways in
order to do work such as group work and individual work (Lavy, 2017). In this paper, the
main focus is given on the group work as it is more productive than the individual work as
organisations appoint employees from different background.
It has been seen that group work is more beneficial for organisations as compared to
individual work. The organisation expands its business in different areas due to which it has
to hire large number of employees from different areas. Different people come from different
backgrounds under a roof for a particular purpose. It could also be termed as diversity at the
workplace. The different people have their own idea and style to do the work that helps to
perform the work more appropriately and efficiently. The hiring of people from different
background helps to enhance the performance of an organisation. Different people have their
own ideas that became a new idea for the organisation. The new idea and new concept come
from a different background that helps to enhance the performances and introduce the new
product in the market. It is a fact that the relationship between employees and employers is
the first step to achieve success. Diversity at the workplace promotes the respects, teamwork
despite differences in age, race and gender. Diversity is not only developed a strong
relationship but also arise the conflict among people. Group work helps to develop a strong

relation among the people who work together at the workplace. Development of strong
relationships among people also respects each other (Baines, Blatchford, and Kutnick, 2016).
The quality of services is high as the team member work together and helps each other in
order to attain high success. In individual work, an individual perform their responsibility
themselves without any help of the others. In the case of individual, the chances of mistakes
are high as compare to group work. In group work, people take help from each other and
always try to do new things with the objective of developing their own personality. In the
group work, the work is divided into the team members as per their capacity and intelligence.
Each and every member performs their task as per the responsibility and their interest in the
work due to which the quality of services is improved (Greif, and Knight, 2016). Work
divided into the team member on the basis of their capacity and ability helps to reduce the
chances of mistakes due to lack of knowledge. It is beneficial for the organisation because
providing excellent services to consumer helps to gain a competitive advantage in the market.
The collaboration of the work with the different individuals and the team members helps to
identify the strength and weaknesses. It is a fact that it is good to come with the new idea and
concept but it is not so good at putting them into action. It is beneficial for the organisation
when the action is appropriately implemented and gets an effective result. It has been
founded that the people work together also suggest each other as per their weaknesses and
strength. The people can also identify its strength by helping the people for a particular task
and the common purpose. In the same way, the comparing things and performance of an
individual from the other team member help to analyse the weaknesses in which an individual
has to perform their responsibility (Banks, 2015). Enhancement of self-awareness helps you
to learn new things and improve performance. The statement of self-awareness states the
group activity is more beneficial in terms of improving the performance. Improvement of the
performance of a member helps to improve the performance as a whole. Improvement of

performance of employee enhances their efficiency and capability and these characteristics of
group work attain the high market share in the market (Agazarian, 2018).
Group work is consuming less time to do a particular task as compared to individual work.
The performance of an organisation is not only enhancing in terms of quality but also in
terms of quantitative. Quantitative performance of an organisation helps to grab the high
market share. It has been seen that the work is divided into the team member as per their
efficiency and skills to do the work. Each and every member performs their own work by
putting the full efforts in order to complete the particular task or the group. Every member
performs their own task due to which the particular task is completed in less time. But in the
case of individual work, it has to perform all the responsibility and conducting activities to
complete the task that contains high time (Malekoff, 2015). The enhancement of quantitative
performance helps the organisation to produce more quantity and satisfy consumer demand.
The team member can also apply the new techniques and ideas in the extra time in order to
learn new things from each other.
Learning new things enhance the skills of members that is also a beneficial factor for the
organisation in terms of launching the new product. Being a part of a team will help you to
develop interpersonal skills such as listening, speaking skills and the team working skills.
Team working skills of an individual are more beneficial in order to maintain the decorum at
the workplace. The team working skills are motivating, leadership and helping others. These
skills maintain a healthy environment which is essential due to the diverse environment at the
workplace. The people came from different background and some of them are experience due
to which they can easily lead the team towards the work (Harvey, and Allard, 2015). An
experienced member of the team helps the other in terms of learning new things. It is
observed that learning new things and implementing the new ideas in the organisation does
not only helps to develop the skills of an individual but also enhance the performance of an

organisation. Developments of individual skills directly impact the performance of an
organisation (Kozlowski, 2018).
Diversity at the workplace also helps the organisation to reduce the challenges of the culture
of different nationalities. The person from a different background helps to achieve success in
the market. The conflict arises in society due to a lack of understanding of the culture of a
different nation. But at the diversified workplace, the member respects each other and also
tries to understand the culture of the different nation which helps the organisation to reduce
the culture challenges (Adams, and Bell, 2016).
From the above limelight discussion, it has been concluded that the organisation achieve high
success in the market over its competitors as adopting the group work. The organisation
structure should be based on group work as it is more beneficial. It enhances the productivity
of the organisation in different terms such as qualitative and quantitative performance. There
are many benefits of the group work that helps the organisation to achieve the objectives and
success in the market. Diversity at the workplace is beneficial in the terms of group work
because it contains the new ideas, concepts and techniques to perform the particular task. The
whole impacts and the advantage of the group work prove the statement “group work is
more productive than an individual working alone” in the right manner and with the
strong content.
