INTRODUCTION
Team work skills can be understood as interrelated abilities that helps to carry on the
work within group effectively. It is important to have proper management among the team
members so that all the work is carried in an organised manner (Wilson, Brickman and Brame,
2018). By having proper cooperation and coordination the team is able to attain goals and
objectives effectively. In this report, there is discussion related to importance of group working
skills in the life of students. In the end, of this report, there is evaluation regarding the skills that
are required by develop the group working.

Explain the importance of group working skills for students
There is key role of team working skills in attaining success of the students. It becomes
necessary to analyse the benefits of having effective team working skills for the students (Vogler
and et.al., 2018). The following points state the importance of group working:
Enhance social skills: By working in group together with others, the students are able to
develop social skills. The way of communication gets enhanced and they are able to develop the
ability to socialise with others and listen to them. It also helps them to boost the level of
confidence by following the order of leaders in an appropriate manner. They are able to analyse
the right time to speak and the one to listen so that the work is managed in proper manner.
Enhances self-confidence: It is examined that team work teaches the students their value and
respect. By working with others, the students are able to know about their own skills and
weaknesses (Sanyal and Hisam, 2018). The self-confidence gets boosted by working with the
team members and carrying the work on right time. The introvert students are also able to
develop themselves and this enhances their communication.
Increased potential for innovation: When the students are given group projects then they
are able to bring innovation. The diverse set of students help the students to give creative ideas.
This supports them to bring innovation and attain the work on right time and effective manner.
When all the other students are carrying a particular work then there is dedication to manage the
working effectively. It helps to bring innovations and attain successful position.
Better problem solving: While working in group, the students are able to get solution of
their problems effectively. It helps the students to carry on the work together and discuss all the

helps the students to respond effectively to the problems faced and attain good position while
working in group.
Enhanced personal growth: The success of team members is dependent on the cooperation and
coordination of the group members. The students shift from “I” to “we” that helps them to attain
success and develop them. The students learn together while working with team members and
develop themselves (Noguera, Guerrero-Roldán and Masó, 2018). The students are also able to
develop themselves by observing others and in the motive of attaining goals and objectives.
More opportunities: The group working enhances the opportunities for the students and
they are able to excel in their particular field. As the students are able to develop themselves and
they combine their strengths that help them to grab the opportunities. It is necessary for the
success and growth of students that are able to analyse and explore the opportunities and grab
them on right time for overall success of team. The students are more aware about the
responsibilities that motivate them to work effectively and grab more opportunities.
Boost productivity: There are different members in team who have ability to deal with all
the situations together. All the students are motivated when they work together and this has
direct impact on their productivity. It helps the students to work together and enhance the level
of productivity that helps them to attain success. It is necessary to carry on the group work in
effective manner that is beneficial for them.
Better risk management: In group working, the students are able to manage the risk effectively.
The group of students are confident and motivated when they work together. When they face any
challenges or risk, the discus the same and solve it on right time. This benefits them by solving
the same effectively (Ritter and et.al., 2018). The students do not get nervous and that is the
reason all the problems are solved in right time and effective manner. The better risk
management assists them to carry on all the activities effectively and on right time.
Less mistakes: At the time of doing team work there are less mistakes as there are so many
members to check the performance. It is seen that the leader keeps check on the group members
and due to this reason they are able to know about the mistakes done by the students. The
students are active at the time of carrying the work and this reduces the chances of mistakes that
can be done by them.

Recommendations and suggested skills that students need to develop for effective and enhanced
group working
It is important for the students to know about the skills that will help them to carry on the
group work effectively. Some of the skills are mentioned below:
Communication skills: Effective communication skills help the team members to share the
important information with each other. This helps them to develop relationship with the leader
and team members so that they are able to carry on the work effectively (Bartual-Figueras,
Purroy-Sanchez and Turmo-Garuz, 2019). They are able to discuss the deadlines, and
responsibilities that assist the students to manage the working effectively.
Time management skills: The students must have time management skills so that they are
able to carry on the work assigned to them on right time. If the work is not completed on time the
overall team will face issue.
Listening skills: The students must have the ability to listen to the leader and team members
so that they are able to understand the work assigned to them. This is also necessary to
understand the details that are important to carry on the group goals.
Critical thinking skills: There is requirement of having critical thinking skills as this helps
the students to know about the positive and negative impact of any activity (Bell and et.al.,
2018). It helps to grab the opportunities on time and overcome the threats faced by the students
in groups. It will help them to maintain good position in team and achieve the objectives on right
time.
Collaboration: There is key role of having ability to collaborate with the team members. In
order attain success in team project, there is need of cooperation and coordination as it will help
the students to attain the objectives of team together. By collaborating with the team members
the students are able to achieve successful position and complete the work on time.

From the above report, it has been analysed that team working helps the students learn to
work together and manage the work. There is evaluation regarding benefits of working in team.
At the same time, the skills that are necessary for students to work effectively in team.
