The fashion industry keeps changing as new products keep being demanded by customers
whose preference are always changing and therefore the fashion sector must be in a position to
meet their needs. In this report my selected brand is Gucci which is widely known. The main
reason for selecting this brand is because the company has attracted a many customers from all
over the world since it was established. I will however, look into brand positioning of this brand
in the market. The main reason for selecting brand positioning is to be able to identify and
familiarize with the needs of Gucci customers (Carrara, 2018).
Gucci History
Gucci Company was founded in the year 1921 by Gucio Gucci as a fashion and retail
organization which is in the private sector in Italy. The company since it was founded it has
continued to become one of the leading prosperous manufacturer of clothing, leather goods as
well as other fashion products. Although the company has made immense success, it faces stiff
competition from other fashion industry such as Christian Dior, Chanel and Burberry.
Christian Dior
Christian Dior mainly deals with accessories and apparel it is in therefore in the sector of
retail and lifestyle. This company has a strong legacy which has stand out in for over half a
century with over 200 points of sale.
Channel
Channel is in the lifestyle and retail sector and have more than 300 boutiques globally
and also established their brand years ago.
