Reason for Graduate study
Nursing can be defined as a profession that enables a group of professionally trained individual
to care for physically or psychologically ill as well as vulnerable healthcare users. Being a
student of nursing, I have been always taught that nursing is not just a job, but an opportunity to
help people through some of their most joyous and worst moments. This is one of the chief
reasons for me to earn a PhD in Nursing and develop the capability to provide appropriate hand-
on care to the patients. One of the greatest motivations for me is that the mentioned profession
will provides me the capacity to make a difference by eradicating the loopholes of the current
Canadian Nursing system. In the year 2017, I have completed the MSN degree in Family
Nursing Practitioner GPA. In the mentioned program I have obtained theoretical knowledge
about organizational, social, biological, as well as nursing sciences. Along with that, I also
learned the appropriate usage of critical thinking, creative reasoning, and making quick clinical
decisions when situation demand. During my graduation, I have also learned to implement
advanced practice nursing care in partnership with different communities.
Impact of personal characteristics and Background on Leadership Skills
Since my childhood I have grown up in a culturally diverse region and as a result have deep
respect for cultural diversity. I have grown up in Saudi Arabia. During childhood I had
experienced poverty and lack of healthcare facilities. As a child, I had evidenced death of one of
our neighbors due to lack of proper medical care. This experience had somehow encouraged me
to become a successful healthcare service provider. While these facts can be considered as my
strengths, some of the major weaknesses include lack of attentiveness and restlessness. I am
aware of the fact that both my strengths as well as weaknesses have the potential to impose

impact on my career as well as on my leadership style. Being culturally competent, I will be able
to deal with employee from different cultural background. However, my restlessness as well s
lack of attentiveness has the potential to impose severe negative impact on my own productivity
as well as my employees.
Reason behind electing UAMS for pursuing PhD program
The lesson I learned during my graduation will also help me to achieve both of my short term as
well as long term professional goals. My short term professional goal is to get admitted in
University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), a highly reputed college in United States
for pursuing PhD program. The mentioned college is one of the best colleges in United States for
Pursuing PhD program. Hence, my short term goal also involve getting admitted in the PhD
program in the mentioned University and complete the mentioned program with flying colors in
order to get recruited in a well-paying position at Y hospital, which is best known for providing
the most appropriate experience to a novice nurse.
I believe that studying in UAMS will help me fulfill my three major professional objectives
includes evaluation of new practice approaches on the basis of scientific knowledge as well as
theories from nursing, acquiring system as well as organizational leadership for improvement of
the quality of the service offered and to influence the current healthcare policies at an
institutional, state as well as federal level. As my long term professional goal, my target is to
obtain professional satisfaction while treating healthcare users. Moreover, as a nurse, my goal is
to eradicate loopholes in the contemporary services and provide better opportunities to
vulnerable and elderly service users.

According to me, it is highly crucial to obtain as well as demonstrate appropriate
leadership skills as a healthcare service provider. My vision is to develop myself as an honest,
impactful as well as empathetic project leader. I believe that the PHD program will help me a lot
to achieve my vision in the long learning, For instance, during my PHD program, I will be taught
how to develop organizational leadership skill in order to improve the quality of service provided
to the healthcare service users. These skills will help me to provide effective leadership to my
subordinates during my practice.
Focal areal of research
The chief focal area of my research during the PHD program in Nursing Practice. The
topic of research is primary health care. The degree objective includes creating nursing leaders in
interdisciplinary healthcare teams with the help of providing students with tool as well as skills
that is necessary for translating evidences gained from nursing research and practices, improved
systems of care as well as measure outcomes of the group, communities and professional
outcome of the healthcare service users. When it comes to the PhD in the nursing program the
chief focus includes nursing research. The degree objectives of the mentioned program include
preparing nurse scientists who are entitled to develop new knowledge for the science and
practice of nursing.
The implication for global health
I believe that the skills developed by during my graduation period as well as the skills
that will be developed by me when I will be perusing the PHD as well as PhD program will be
