INTRODUCTION
In fast and changing environment, customer are looking for the best services and goods
that fulfil their need of living. The craze of retail sector is increasing at a large pace that add
value to the life of people living in that locality. In UK, there are large number of retail store that
includes departmental stores, online business, food corner, etc. which provide useful product and
services to large number of customer (Allen and Allen, 2013). The report is based on “Gusto
cuisine ” a food corner and the source of raising fund from bank to expand business is discussed.
TASK 1
A) Overview about business.
“Gusto Cuisine” is trending and one of the popular food corner in the street of London.
There are variety of cooked and baked item which are provided, with the delicious taste that
attract large number of customer due to which it is able to generate enough profit. List of
common food items are chorizo roll, crab donuts, soy chicken wings, Lobster macaroni with
truffle etc. Recently, the food corner is run in a small shop but have better customer base because
of the taste they add to their food items and prices. With increasing demand manager is planning
to expand their business to a bigger platform so that more customer can provided with best food
product. In order to do so they require fund of approx £2,500 of capital and £50,000.00 of goods
which are helpful in increasing business.
B) Sales and expenses of 12 months

(a) Auto Sum: It is consider to be one of the effective formula used in spreadsheet, that aid in
addition of large number of numerical values. This features is enable in counting values of rows
and columns by applying the sum worksheet function. It is located on the standard toolbar which
enable used to insert the sum function and extract the best, accurate possible values.
(b) Auto format: It is also crucial formula of spreadsheet that makes sheets look attractive,
distinctive and arranged. With the support of auto format user are able to change the formatting
cells are part of selected rows and columns (Glasson and Therivel, 2013). It is helpful tool that
change the appearance of data or numeric values entered in particular auto formatted
spreadsheet. Such as, uses put data (3 rd ) in particular sheet which turns into (3rd ) after putting
command of auto format.
(c) Average formula: With the support of this formula user are able to calculate the average
among large number of data series. Such as when the data is in large quantity from C5:C60 than
average formula is that is =Average (C5:C60) applied so determine the arithmetic mean of the
series.
(d) Percentage formula: It is an important formula of spreadsheet that assist in calculating
percentage large number of data. By applying this function users are able to determine the % of
data series. Such as individual consider to evaluate the 50 % of 100 then, then they put the
formula like =50%*100. Eventually, this feature is important in calculating % of complex and
wide range of data in less time.
(e) Pass word protect your spreadsheet: In order to protect the important data uses apply the
function of password protect. Basically when office documents are transferred form one source

to another user use to protect data and provide the following password to the other user so that
other person are not able to consider these data (Mischel, 2013).

increasing because number of customer are also increasing at fast. It is also observed that with
the increment in sales company is able to increase their expenses. It clearly shows that company
is profitable and it represent that they can repay the additional loan.

Approaches to design the spreadsheet.
The businesses make the various financial statements for many purpose but when there
are large number of data, then it become tough to evaluate actual financial performance
(Thompson and Subar, 2017). Herein, the use of excel spreadsheet can help in understanding the
financial situation as well as it makes the calculation easy. In the Gusto Cuisine restaurant they
use the spreadsheet of income and expenditure of last 12 months from January to December. The
spreadsheet of Gusto Cuisine is prepared with the use of different types of formulas and
functions. Like they use auto sum tool for making the addition of income and expenditures as
well as average formula to calculate the average of total income and expenses. Additionally, the
other formulas like percentage, auto formatting etc. are also used by the company to make their
income and expenditure statement effective. Apart from these tools and formulas, some graphs
also used to present the source of income, investment option etc. in an attractive manner. Due to
these feature of excel sheet in their income and expense can help them in getting the desirable
loan from the bank. This is why because their spreadsheet is attractive and easy to understand.

In conclusion it is stated that business needs sources and additional capital that support to
increase business operation and run in proper manner. As “Gusto cuisine” are selling their
product well in the market therefore they need more fund to expand their business.
