Introduction
The report has been used to describe the system which is to be implemented by the
Harmony Hospital. The manual procedures are being followed in the system currently. Hence,
the organization is required to develop an automated information system that would be helpful in
their business procedures. The details of the investigation techniques and modeling of the has
been provided in this report.
Task 1. Investigation of new automated information system
Useful techniques used to investigate MHPIS
Interview
The interviews would be conducted in the system in one-to-one basis. This is the most
common process of gathering requirements for any type information system. Hence, the same
has been done for the Hospital management system for the Harmony Hospital organization. As
an analyst for the project the first job was to identify the stakeholders of the system who were to
be targeted to the interviews and the set of questions to asked to them are thought of. The
interviewee would be asked to provided description about the current system of the organization.
Questionnaire
Questionnaire is a process that allows the analysts to gather up a lot of information about
the system that the analyst would be currently working on. A group of common stakeholders are
required to be identified by analyst and in this case the identified users group were the patients.
Analyzing the existing documents
The existing procedure and the business model for the organization are required to be
analyzed carefully by the analysts. The current business procedures of the Harmony Hospital
have been analyzed. It has been analyzed and identified that the medical
application is required by the Harmony Hospital organization that would be
helpful for the staffs in the organization to handle the patients efficiently.
Justification of the chosen techniques
Interview
The set of the questions are asked to the superintendent of the hospital who acts as the
management body of the organization. The interview is performed in three stages. The initial

stage was conducted to get introduced to the current scenarios in the organization. In the second
the stages the current difficulties in business model which followed by the organization currently
are identified. After the identification of the problems in the system the super is questioned about
the facilities required in the current system and the development of the system is to be done as
per the requirements stated by the super. Hence, quality information is gathered with the help of
the interview process. The follow up questions to be asked were not pre-meditated from before
and were crested as a follow up to the answers provided by the interviewee.
Questionnaire
The patients are subjected to a set of questionnaires. A number of open-ended and close-
ended questions have been asked by the analyst. It has made sure that the questions are not too
long and the options provided the targeted group would be co related to each of the other options,
so that an efficient analysis can be done on the result obtained by the questionnaire process. The
open ended questionnaires have been provided to the targeted group that do that they can provide
additional review on the system that would be helpful in including functionalities to the system
and including additional procedures that would be helpful for the end users.

Analyzing the existing documents
It has also been identified that the online portal for the staffs and
patients would be helpful for the in managing the medical data efficiently
and also keep all the information at a single place for the patients.
Additionally, it has been identified that initially investments made for the
development of the system is $40,000.00. Hence, the organizations have
assumed that a consistent recurring cost of $5,500 in using the technology
with an expected discount rate of 8% within a 5-year period. The benefits
identified by the organization in the coming 5 years were $15,000.00,
$18,000.00, $22,000, $27,000.00 and $29,000.00.

The use case diagram has been used here for the description of the cases that would take
place in the system and the identification of the main actors for the particular cases have been
provided in the report. The main actors identified in the system are Doctors, Patients,
Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. The use cases related to each of the actors have been
described in this diagram.
Task 2B. Domain Model Class Diagram
Assumptions
The classes to be used for interactions in the system has been assumed and described
below:
Patient, Medicine, Doctor, Prescription, Bill, Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician.

Assumptions
The main actors identified in the system as per the assumptions are Doctors, Pharmacists
and Pharmacy Technician. In addition to this, as per the provided scenario it is assumed that only
the prescription procedures are considered.
Explanation
The activity diagram provided above is used for the case study of the Harmony Hospital
Pharmacy activities and the process starts with the doctor describing a prescription and
forwarding it in the system. Additionally, the process completes when the prescription is sent to
the nursing station.
Task 2D. A System Sequence Diagram
Assumptions
It has been assumed here that the Doctors, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician are
main actor classes and Hospital Management system in

The sequence diagram provided above is used for the description of the flow of messages
for the system. The flow starts from the Doctors and return to the nurses. The main object class
here is the Hospital Management System.
Conclusion
For conclusion it can be said that the system would be developed for Harmony Hospital
Pharmacy. The details of the system have been described in the report along with the modelling
of the system so that the reader gets an illustrated view for the system and is easily able to
understand the procedures in the system.
