Olympic games Sports event analysis
The type of sports event analyzed is the Olympic Games. The Olympic Games play
important role of attraction in the field of hospitality and tourism within the country they are
held. The game enables one to learn event management building blocks. It is associated with city
perspectives that when hosted in the city it has a positive impact in local communities. The game
is associated with many attractions all over the parts of the world (Schulenkorf, 2010 p.273). It
is characterized by gatherings of communities from different parts of the world in which they
share common games needs. The game is associated with intercultural interactions from all
communities within the world. Approximately, Olympic is said to have the representatives all
over the world. The games are hosted in a selected country or city which suits all attractive and
suitable conditions to hold the event. The game attractions dimension is based on the fact that it
is an event gathering all types of communities within the world. The game is held in both
summer and winter based on the type of the game to be performed. The summer Olympic Games
sports events are characterized by much investments as well high level of preparatory before the
game starts (Gibson, Qi, and Zhang, 2008 p.427). One commonwealth country selected in which
the event will be held is given the enough time for the preparatory of the game. Financially the
events of the game are considered to have a high capital investment.
The dimension of the playing ground needs to be sufficient to host a large volume of
events since many games are considered to be held within the playing spot. Some of the games
which are played include soccer, basketball, triple jump, crew, and long jump among so many
other games which requires a large portion of the space. The Olympic attractive events hosted in
countries like Japan scheduled for 2020 is featured by the key to success. The Olympic and
Paralympics games are scheduled to be hosted in Tokyo, Japan (Gursoy and Kendall, 2016

p.603). This type of the game is an international game in which the host country has to be well
developed in terms of the infrastructure, hospitality as well as the tourism industry. Based on the
budget the preparatory for the events of the game requires a high level of the investments. It is
approximated that around $450,000 million dollars are required for the preparatory of the games
event (Lee and Taylor, 2015 p.595).
The planning of the game event is one of the significant roles played by the tourists and
hospitality management department within the country. The arrangement of the game events
requires around 50,000 million dollars especially if the game event is comprised of the main
games. The number of participants that the game hosts is based on the registered countries under
which the game will be hosted. The registration of the game is usually done through the
headquarters offices. The participant countries should be registered through the board of the
Olympic Games (Chalkley and Essex, 2015 p.369). The participants for the game event are the
players who are considered to be core participants as well as countries’ participants under which
the players come from. There are so many expectations which are considered for the games
event to be held in any given country. The game's events held in the country or the city comes up
with some positive impacts such as the expansion of the playing ground for the games as well as
an increase of the resources. The increased resources are characterized by the facts it leads to the
increase of the economy of the country as well as the tourism industry in the country. There are
some challenges faced by the countries under which the game events are held such as corruption
and security challenges.
The event stakeholders for the game event involve the Olympic Games organizing
committee. This committee works very hard for the purpose of making sure that there is the
development of the infrastructure within the location in which the events of the game will be

taking place. The committee is given the responsibility to make sure that there are well-
developed roads and any other form of the infrastructure within the area in which the game event
will be taking place. The construction team is another stakeholder involved with the Olympic
Games events (Kim, Gursoy, and Lee, 2016 p.86). These stakeholders make sure that the fields
and any other form of the infrastructure within the game area are put into place. The event
planning management team makes sure that all the strategies for the game are put in place for the
