School family community partnership – it is a type in which family, school, and community is
engaged in providing care.
Mutual partnership- here, there is mutual partnership between family and children in providing
care.
Community partnership – this partnership works with community where people like social worker,
are included in it.
Parenting partnership- it is partnership where parent, grandparent, relatives are involved in
providing care for children.

Assessment Criteria: 6.2 – Discuss benefits of working in partnership
This needs to be a detailed account as you have been asked to ‘discuss’.
Look at the partnerships you have identified in 6.1.
Now look at the benefits of each of these partnerships from the perspective off -

School family community partnership – The child benefit from partnership as it family and staff
both work together to identify needs of child. This will help me to develop a care plan and what
relevant actions I can take. It will help family to understand child behaviour, experience, etc. and
how they develop.
Community partnership- the child will benefit from this as effective care will be provided with
support of others. I will benefit from it as it will help me to provide care with support of other
people. The family benefit from partnership as Families benefit greatly from having a support
network of people they can share information with and work through challenges together
Parenting partnership- the child will benefit from this as it will create a positive environment. I
will benefit from partnership as it provide support to involve parents and provide services to child.
The family will benefit from it as they will easily understand child behaviour.
Early childhood services may be able to connect families with one another or help access support
in their community. With support from staff, families can feel comfortable leaving their children
with people who are working in their child’s best interests. When families feel understood and
support they are able to give better health and well being to child.
There is great impact if good partnership is not formed. It leads to ineffective developing of child
care plan. Furthermore, without family support it becomes difficult to deal with child. It impact on
child health and well being as well.

Assessment Criteria: 6.3 – Describe how partnerships with parents/carers are established and
maintained
For this task you are only looking at the partnership between yourself and the child’s parent/carer.
You will need to provide a brief summary of how you are going to build and maintain a good working
relationship with the family. Please ensure you write this in “first person narrative”.

 Time and place of first meeting
 How you will prepare for the first meeting
 How you will behave on the first meeting in order to set the tone of the relationship
 What information will you share with parents at this first meeting
 How you will develop the relationship over time

Time and place of meeting- 11. 00 am and place is child house
How you will prepare for the first meeting – I will search on internet and write some notes and
then practice it.
How you will behave on the first meeting in order to set the tone of the relationship – I will
behave normally and my tone will be low. In this I will try to convince family that with help of
partnership child care can be given.
What information will you share with parents at this first meeting - I will show them benefits of
child care and other facts and figures. I will share info about child needs to family such as social,
emotional, physical, etc.
How you will develop the relationship over time - I will maintain relationship by doing regular
meetings.
Here, I will set a meeting in child house and i will introduce myself with child family. Besides I will
take decision by informing family about it. In this way I will develop good relationship with family.

Assessment Criteria: 6.4 – Explain how working in partnership with parents/carers supports the
home learning environment
You must show that you understand that the parents are the child’s first educator and that they
know their child best. Explain the importance of having a good partnership with parents/carers and
how it encourages learning at home, provide examples of how you can do this. Can you think of any
barriers to working in partnership with parents in a home learning environment? How could you
overcome these barriers?

The importance of good partnership helps in providing care services in effective way. It encourage
learning as child get better care services. Besides, child is familiar to parents in home so they get
proper care services. For example- with help of parents care services can be given.
I found that there are certain barriers that can occur. For instance- relationship barrier, differing
values, etc. In this there may occur conflict as well due to which partnership is affected. I will
overcome these barriers by continuously communicating with family and taking their feedback.
Also, I will respect values of family as well.
Assessment Criteria: 6.5 – Explain the boundaries of confidentiality
Give examples of the different types of information you will be expected to collect and store and
other information you will be exposed to in the course of your role. You need to explain your legal
responsibility under the EYFS, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and Data Protection Act
(2018) with regard to storing information (paper and computer) and sharing information (with and
without consent). Find out who you need to notify if you are keeping information electronically (e.g.
computer/laptop)?

EYFS- in this I will follow standards set by government for learning of children. So, my
responsibility is to follow principles in it and accordingly providing care to child.
GDPR- I am responsible to follow law and ensure that child data is not shared with anyone.
Besides, family personal data has to be protected and secured in it. I will store data properly on
my laptop by taking permission from family.
Data Protection Act- my responsibility in it is protect confidential data of people. I will take
consent of family and then organise data in my laptop. I will ensure data is not shared with
anyone.

Here, current framework is statutory one which set standards for providing care to children. The
framework is for school, child care worker.

It is divided as it focus on both primary and specific needs of children.

Poverty- it highly impact on child development as due to poverty child do not get proper care
services. The environment in which they live is harsh. Also, there are no proper diet given to child
for it. Example are – family background, ethics, environment, etc.
Family background- In this child development may be impacted due to poor relation between
parents. Thus, mental health is also affected in it. For example- lack of education, poor relation
between parents, lack of finance, etc.
Health status – it also influence child development as children suffering from any health problem
will not be able to grow properly. Thus, it affect their diet as well. For example- malnutrition,
obesity, low BMI, etc.
Disability- this factor also influence child development. For example- mental or physical disability
will led to improper diet, care services, etc.
The personal factor restrict child development as it led to ineffective care services. Example are
health status, disability, personal income.
Assessment Criteria: 7.3 - Explain the difference between sequence of development and rate of
development.
You need to explain the difference between sequence and rate of development and give examples of
how the rate can vary.

Sequence of development refers to the normal sequence in which children learn different skills,
and the rate of development refers to the speed in which a child will develop. And the rate of
development is that the sequence refers to the normal or expected sequence in which children
learn different skills. The rate of development refers to the speed in which a child will develop.
However the sequences are common among most children but the rate in which they develop the
skills changes.

The John Bowbly theory can be used to connect with child. Also, it state that developing bond
with child in early age create impact on their life. The theory focus on emotional attachment of
child with mother.
The emotional security benefit as it is linked with later development of emotion and personality.
Thus, they show positive behaviour towards adults. I can also get emotionally connected with
child. It will help me to provide care services.
Well being helps in ensuring that child health is priority. I can develop this trait by using child
development theory.
A good learning environment provide a safe platform. The child must feel safe, supported and
respected.
I can respect child behaviour and eliminate all risk which can be threat in giving care services.
This influence in positive way as child get comfortable in it. they learn many things from it as well.
Here, I can use various theories of child development. It will give insight on how development can
be done.

Family- It influence on their behaviour as parents are first educator of child. So, any change in
their behaviour will result in impacting on child behaviour as well.
Changes in child life- If there occurs positive change then children behaviour is influenced in
positive way and if change is negative then behaviour will also be negative.
Child personality- It influence as personality refers to thinking and perception. Thus, if child gets
irritated then behaviour will be influenced in negative way.
Peer groups – Here, if peer group do not communicate and understand child needs, then their
behaviour is influenced in negative way.
Overall development- In this if child overall development is effective and proper then there is
positive influence on their behaviour.
School and nursery- children learn a lot of things from school. Thus, if school environment is
negative then it will influence on their behaviour negatively.

Assessment Criteria: 7.7 - Outline strategies for managing children’s behaviour.
You need to show –
 You are aware that the EYFS requires you to manage behaviour in an appropriate way (page
28/29 sections 3.52 and 3.53 of the EYFS).
 You have an understanding that some behaviours are associated with particular stages of
development and that you have suitable strategies in place to pre-empt and manage these
types of behaviour.
 You’re aware of the need for consistency and reinforcement of boundaries.
 Your strategies take into account other influences that may be impacting on behaviour.
 You know how to get support with challenging behaviour.
