with the help of the concept of data cleansing. Data cleansing is very much important for the
data which are about to enter the data warehouse1. Data cleansing may be also termed as data
scrubbing, the database administrators of the data ware houses uses this process in order to avoid
any kinds of complexities as it may have a direct negative impact on the overall business.
3. What is a data warehouse? How is it different from a transactional database?
Data ware house is defined as the type of warehouses which stores large amount of structured
and unstructured data from a wide range of sources. The managerial decisions of an organization
can be impacted by the effectiveness of the data warehouses.
The data which are related with the transactions are managed with the help of the
transactional database, rolling back of the data is possible in the transactional databases which
are not followed in the data warehouses.

through which people can communicate with each other and express their opinions and concerns

business organization can be improved with the help of blogging2. Online visibility is improved
considerably with the help of the blogging.
5. What is an intranet and what purposes does it serve? What is an extranet, and what
purpose does it serve?
Intranet is defined as the type of private network which are there in the business
organizations, it includes the interlinked LAN’s. More than one gateways are important for the
working of the intranet, the accessibility of this network can be determined by the concerned
authorities based on the security and the privacy issues.
Extranet is defined as the type of private network which uses the internet technology and the
telecommunication systems. The extranet is used by the business organizations to deal with their
external stakeholders such as the suppliers and the other business partners.
