1b. The process or dynamic between the interviewee and interviewer showed that there
was a sense of trust as a result of which, Darryl was able to open up and share about his
experiences, feelings and concern with Alan even though both belong to a different group.
Answer 2
From the lens of intersectionality, it can be stated that there are several issues that
men in the world are facing and require immediate focus. Healing of men can help in
uplifting the society as it will help in understanding the psychological aspects of men’s
problem, discrimination, bias faced by them in a more prevalent manner concerning race,
culture, skin color and orientation (Ferlatte et al., 2018). The finding was not concerned about
a particular group of men but included diverse issues faced by different groups of men and
the importance of healing. This highlighted the aspect of men's movement, which is a social
movement in Western countries that focus on gender issues.

3b. The ‘soft man ‘is also described as the feminized man who has a gentle attitude in life
and thus, many of them are unhappy as they have low esteem and were stated to be limp
referring to lack of character (Bly, 2015).
3c. The “Iron John” archetype is referred to as a wild man in the initial of the story;
however, in the end, he was found to be the wise man. This indicates that there are various
lessons that are meaningful to men as well as the men’s movement.
Answer 4
4a. According to Fox (2010), there are ten archetypes appearing in our culture that the
man needs to reinvent in the world in order to project sacred masculinity. The culture that is
being referred to in the story is the modern westernized culture that has changed over time
and has been found to degrade the indigenous culture. Men, in this case, mean all the men in
the world that have been subjected to various kinds of discrimination and bias.
4b. A cultural image of men has been projected to be healthy and masculine in nature that
is being referred to in the story.
Answer 5
5a. Mazis’s work confronts Bly’s work by stating the different viewpoints of men by
referring men to be unable to handle grief or pain in an appropriate manner.
5b. The story shows that men are unable to deal with pain or hurt and with the aid of
recent images of men, the author had embraced pain among men (Mazis, 1993).
5c. The author has connected men with feelings in everyday life and the story depicts a
celebration of interconnection, wonder, disposition to let things transpire (rather than
asserting control), and facing one's own susceptibility.
