The topic that is chosen for the promotion of health is the creation of awareness
regarding the intake of alcohol in accordance with the medical rules. People often celebrate,
relax and socialize by drinking alcohol. The effects of alcohol vary from person to person
depending on the age, health status, frequency and amount of alcohol intake. However, the
consumption of alcohol has become an important issue among the young children and youth.
Adolescents, especially the school children have a tendency to get attracted towards the
drinking of alcohol as well as consumption of alcohol [1]. If these children start to drink
alcohol at such an early stage of life they have to face a number of side effects including liver
cirrhosis and cancer. This issue is chosen for the health promotion activity as it is the most
rapidly growing problem among the youth. The most important factor that leads the young
children into drinking alcohol is the peer pressure. School and college going children usually
pressurize the newly admitted students or their friends into drinking [6]. The targeted
audience for the activity are the school children belonging to Queensland region of Australia.
Here, the health promotion activity continued for about 6 weeks. Health promotion activities
are done as such type of programmes tend to have positive effects on the targeted audience.
Such programmes and campaigns redress the issue in such a structured manner which makes
a strong impact on the minds of the audience creating awareness among them and effectively
changing the drinking behaviour [4].

download an app designed for the health promotion programme that will keep a track of the
heart rate and respiratory rates of the individuals on the days in which they were involved in
drinking as well as on those days on which they avoided drinking. This will help them to
compare their health changes on the days of drinking with that of days without drinking [7].

the programme were higher. However, after the commencement of the programme my fear
reduced and I was able to concentrate on the programme. At the end of the programme my
confidence increased a lot and I gained a lot of knowledge regarding the health promotion
activity. There were a lot of positive and negative experiences during the entire programme.
The positive feeling was due to the happiness that the participants went through after they
promotion should be used as an example in order to promote the use of health promotion
programme in order to make a remarkable effect in the reduction of alcohol.
