INTRODUCTION
World health organisation plays important role in international health within United
Nation that is governing principles as well as structure of healthcare facilities. With an objective
“ that all individual attain high possible health by having equal as well as qualitative healthcare
services for healthy life ahead (Piciocchi, 2018).” This report has covered definition of health,
importance of health in society and impact of alcohol abuse on health of people.
Definition of health
World health organisation defined health as “state of complete physical, social and
mental well being and not having any type of diseases (Piciocchi, 2018).” In another words it is
enjoyment of life at highest attainable standard that is all individuals have fundamental right to
have healthcare services without any type of discrimination in terms of race, religion and social
condition. The main motivate of WHO is to ensure that all people in society have healthy
lifestyles in social, physical and mental. WHO emphasis that it is human right to have good
physical and mental health thus has life without restriction Therefore, as per view of WHO
improving and maintaining good health start with adaptation of healthy lifestyles (Guglielmetti
and et.al., 2020).
As per perspective of Public health England, health can be defined as “various measures
that have been taken to promote better health or prevent from diseases so that people can enjoy
prolong life. Moreover it has defined public health as “it is science as well as art of protecting
and promoting health and wellbeing of individuals so that it can be prevented from ill health and
number of diseases (Healthy Lives, Healthy People, 2020). The three domains has been covered
in the public health definition such as health improvement, protection and health services
provided to several individuals so that they stay safe and healthy for longer time frame
(Piciocchi, 2018). Likewise health improvement includes providing equal access to healthcare
facilities to each and every individuals residing in the society for its better health and well being.

unhealthy person is not able to properly carry out its activities or perform its roles and
responsibilities in desired manner (Fleming, 2020). So when diseases develop, the individual get
dependent on its family member and friend to provide support so that it can complete task or
have daily activities. It is also not capable of meet its needs and thus feel helpless and weak so
health is important for society as well as individual. At the same time, healthy person can save its
money rather than spending on treatment of diseases or medication so that it can stay healthy and
safe lifestyle. Therefore it can be summarised that importance of good health in individual’s life

development of feeling of depression. The alcohol intake has many side effects on health of
younger generation of UK like headache and sleep disturbance. Moreover it causes chronic
diseases and death from liver diseases. Therefore, adult should take steps to avoid intake of
alcohol that have negative impact on their mind and health.
