This document must be used to complete Assessment 2. It is split up into five (5) sections; one for each step
of your research report.

Research reports require evidence to be clearly structured and presented under specific headings. For each
step, there are a number of items that must be addressed. Responses to these should be made under the
headings provided.

Step 1 Research and Evidence-Based Practice
When undertaking research, you need to clarify the methods you will be using. For this section of the
report, you must address the following points.
1.1 Rules of EvidenceExplain what the ‘rules of evidence’ are in relation to evidence-based practice (EPB) (50 words).
Rules of evidence is basically define as legal aspect in relation to the evidence based practice in clinical
perspectives. It refers to the relevant to factual proposition in term of materials and subject matters. On
the basis of evidence, medical professionals are measured the actual reason behind the clinical treatment.
1.2 Evidence-based PracticeProvide an APA-referenced definition of evidence-based practice (EBP) and state how it is used (50 words)
Evidence based practice is based on the integration of the best research evidence with clinical expertise
and patient values (Horntvedt, M. E. T. & et.al., 2018). Basically, it can be applied by practitioners will
ultimately lead to improve actual patient result or outcome. “Rules of Evidence” in relation to EPB, which is
clinically relevant research, refers to the clinician’s cumulated education, skills.
1.3 Research and Continuous ImprovementExplain how EBP is different from ‘research’ and ‘continuous quality improvement’ and explain how they
are used (50 words).
Evidence based practice is basically different from research and continuous quality improvement because
EBP seeks applies the best quality of clinical evidence, often from research. This is basically used to the
make important decision in patient care. Whenever, it will be used through systematic processes to
improve patient outcome or result.

1.4 Research MethodsProvide a diagram of EBP, a typical research process and continuous quality improvement.
On the basis of diagram, it has been identified that research process and continuous quality improvement
depended on the current best research evidence, patient value and clinical expertise. In context of clinical
research, it has been focused on the bullying and harassment in nursing workplace, importance of infection
control practices.
1.5 Duty of Care RequirementsExplain the duty of care requirements associated with EPB (50 words).
In context of duty of care requirement association with EPB, it is define the obligation to take some
responsibility for patient care and in order to avoid injury to patient (Devrim, İ., & Bayram, N., 2020).. On
the basis of EPB, A duty of care exists when someone actions could reasonably be expected to the other
affected people.
1.6 Research ReasonsDescribe what each of these different reasons for undertaking research are (20 words each).
● Comparison- the reason for undertaking comparison in research, which means that simply
conducting comparative study, it act as comparing two more things with a proper view of
discovery.
● Hypothesis testing- in clinical research study, hypothesis process help for evaluating the strength of
evidence from sample (O'Hara, Thom, & Preas, 2018). It provide the framework for making
determination related to population such as patients, nurses.
● Trend identification- within research, it helps for building a solid foundation of expertise, facts
which become important aspect. Characteristics of trends is bring more clinical information

● Own knowledge extension- it means that involvement of people learning from various peers. In
order to perform own activities and accessing new source of knowledge for research study.
● Strengthen quality of own practice- it support for research to identify the solution of particular
clinical problem, establishing a connection with skills, understanding and other professional
knowledge.
Step 2 Plan the Information
The next step in a research report is to clarify why the topic should be researched and plan how you will
gather the information. For this section, you should address the following points.
2.1 Issue StatementClearly state the two issues being investigated (20 words each).
As per analysis, it will be investigating two different issues as follows:-
● Bullying and harassment in nursing workplace
● importance of infection control practices
2.2 Objectives and Trends of IssuesState why each research topic (150 words each) is being investigated, including:
● Two (2) objectives you aim to achieve for each (How will benefit nursing practice?)
● APA-referenced evidence of why each is an issue
● APA referenced example of where each can be seen in practice
● Two (2) ways each issue is currently managed or approached.
Aim- to investigation on the issue or problem of bullying and harassment that arises in the workplace.

Description-
Bullying & harassment issues face by nursing staff members in the hospitals. That’s why, it is mainly focused
on the research investigation in order to create healthy working environment for every nursing
professionals, where they can feel free to do their tasks and provide best quality of medical treatment
facilities.
Aim- To evaluate the importance of infection control practices in context of nursing practices.
Objectives-
 To identify the different kind of practices, measurement which may support for protecting the
individual people from different infectious diseases.
 To examine the different factors help for controlling the spread of infection within community.
Description-
On the basis of research investigation, it will conduct a proper investigation on three important issues in
regards of harassment, bullying and other kind of infections etc.

processes.
3.1 Information-gathering StrategySummarise the strategy you used to gather information generally, noting the sources you explored, how
you determined if the information was relevant and why you left certain resources out (150 words).
In the research analysis, it will be used the questionnaires as research strategy that will help for collecting
or gathering relevant information about the research topic. This kind of research strategy is based on the
observation, view point and opinion of respondents. Investigator will decide to target the specific

respondent such as nursing staff member in hospitals. Through this way, it become easier for gather or
collect their opinion. In order to examine that where they can face an issues of bullying, harassment etc.
Basically, it should be consider the specific parameters to check the authenticity of information or data.
Sometimes, it will be collecting information from different existing theories, and compare with opinion of
individual people. So as it help for identifying that gathered information or data was relevant. On the other
hand, it will be used in future research analysis purpose.
