This report provides a systematic review of the health aspects of bushfires in Australia. It examines the impact on physical and mental health, including PTSD, and discusses preparedness, recovery guidelines, and responses. The study utilizes peer-reviewed articles from 1950 to 2017, focusing on the psychological effects and mitigation strategies. The report identifies 522 potential papers, selecting 9 that meet inclusion criteria, and highlights the need for improved bushfire management and psychological support. It also addresses mortality rates, medical issues, and the roles of NGOs and medical students in addressing the crisis. The findings emphasize the need for structured screening, government coordination, and cross-agency support to reduce the devastating effects of bushfires.
