INTRODUCTION
Health and social care service is the industry which offer variety of medical services to its
customers in order to provide solutions to their problem (Sheldon, 2011). In order to achieve set
objectives and goals it is very important for social care homes to offer effective services to its
patients. It is very important that better environment must be offer to patients as this ensure fast
recovery from diseases. ABC care home, which offer variety of heath and social care services to
helpless individuals from different backgrounds is taken under this report for study. At present,
the home care is facing number of issues and complaints related with effectiveness of services
and poor care. Impact of various legislations, rules and codes of conduct on health and social
care services is detailed under this report. Further, impact of social processes on service users
working in health care home is all mentioned under this report.

2.1 Implementation of legislations, policies and regulations that are relevant to work in health
and social care
National health services(NHS) assesses all its policies on timely basis in order to make
sure that firm is working in right direction and is specific as per the cultural and financial
background of population (Purdie, Dudgeon and Walker, 2010). At present, health and social
care act is one of the legislation which is directing the health care field in United Kingdom. This
act states policies for professionals and managers of social care so it is relevant for ABC care
home to work on this. One of the main feature of this act is that it has some set standards,
provide a approach of patient centred and help in reform the safety services. Other policies
which can be use by firm is quality protects, every child matters, valuing people, care standards
act and right to action.
2.2 Local procedures and policies which can be developed
UK legislation give shape to health and social care organisation as per the region, by still
procedures and policies may vary as per the needs and requirements of population. For example,
regions with superior status may use local and social care accordingly (Hart,2013). Various
policies and procedures will be generated in ABC care home with requirements of national
policy so that they can deliver best care services as per the conditions of individual.

ABC can work with other health and social care enterprises to comply with needs of
individuals. Further, individuals will be allowed to choose the services suitable to them as this
will provide them to control their financial plan. Along with this, policies will be formulate to
remove barriers to deliver effective care services to clients.
In context with this, a care plan will be formulated in care home for satisfy needs of
patients and to offer right information on requirements of individual's health. In this situation,
staff members will allowed to share data related with treatment, assessments and services of
individuals. In addition to this, written working documents with consultation of stakeholders
which will be customised with specific requirements of care home.
2.3 Impact of regulations and legislations
Various regulations, codes, legislations and policies will largely affect the practices and
policies of ABC care home. That impact will result in a reform in care home as this will
protection to both service providers and customers. Further, it will provide direction for ensure
best health care practices and fulfil social care requirements. Main reason behind include
regulation, codes, policies and legislations in health and social care services is to ensure that
standards of care homes are relevant, clear to customers, employees, up to date and to make sure
that ethical and safe care should be offer to all clients.
One of the main advantages of include various policies, codes, legislative acts and
regulations in practice of health and social care in ABC care home as this will provide a standard
to enterprise to work in accordance with superior and adequate standards of work which will
provide benefit to enterprise (McNiff, 2013). Further, this will increase ability of ABC care
home to generate effective policies which will help in put the patient's life at stake, provide them
an opportunity to offer effective and risk free services and in this way they can protect
themselves from any kind of allegations in future, put by CQC on enterprise.

3.1 Theories that underpin health and social care practice
System theory is the one which ca be apply in ABC home care as the main aim of this is
to focus on human behaviour and its sympathy with complex organisation system. Main focus of
centre should be on system which consists delivery of timely services, fulfilment of care,
expectations of clients and fulfilment of attributes and customers involve in the system (Fetters,
Curry and Creswell, 2013). System theory can be considered as a effort of an small number of

individuals or group which must be apply by a group or individual in order to make their lives
more convenient and better. This is quite applicable in case of ABC care home as individuals are
facing issues due to lot of disruption involve in process of deliver service to patients.
Effective application of this theory ensure helps and support individuals to survive in
proper and effective manner (Bowling, 2014). Further, social learning is one of the relevant
procedure as this enhance the awareness, literacy and knowledge of individuals. All this will
increase their standards of living and at the same time increase their awareness regarding stay fit
for long period of time. Further, ABC care home can take the support and help of external
agencies such as NGOs sand different social enterprises to make their centre a better and
effective place to live.
3.2 Impact of social processes
A human being can live his life better with various social communities and groups. An
individual can interact with different groups and individuals as this help in maintain the living
standards and quality of life (Henry and Stephens, 2013). This can be apply to the individuals
related with the ABC care home. Various social programmes could be conduct by ABC care
homes where patients can do interact with each other and can share information with each other
about their personal life and experiences. It is very essential that there must be interactive
sessions among individuals of same age.
It is very important that every individual and patient must get a opportunity to interact
with guides and can share their activities related with their health and ideas of their life. Social
processes implemented by care homes help in and ensure fast recovery of patients which are
suffering from various diseases such as psychological diseases and depression. One of the main
feature of social processes is that this largely affect the habits, life style, mental state and hygiene
of an individual (Millar and Hall, 2013). Further, various social and physical activities play a big
role in health of patient and contribute more in his well being. Main reason behind this is that
individuals enjoys social activities and company of other individuals and it is very essential for
refresh the minds and life of people.
3.3 Effectiveness of inter professional working
Inter personal working is the one in which small group of individuals belongs from
various working skills and discipline in same situation (Richards, Campenni and Muse-Burke,
2010). All individuals interact with each other and share their knowledge and experiences with

each other to get best and effective results and this is known as best strategy. Inter personal
working can be implemented in case of ABC care home. In ABC care homes individuals from
different difficulties and issues are present so in this case, it is advisable to to firm to implement
inter professional style of working as this will help staff members to deliver effective services
and facilities to patients as per their requirement and needs.
One of the main advantage of this is this it will provide satisfaction to the users and will
help home care in maintain its image (Leahy‐Warren, McCarthy and Corcoran, 2012). As group
of professionals would discuss the conditions and issues of patient and then set standards and
objectives to bring them back to the best health. Further, this describe the roles, responsibilities,
and skills which must be there in professionals and skills to ensure delivery of effective services
to patients in time. This not only results in customer's satisfaction but at the same time ensure
effective implementation of various services related with physiotherapy, radiology and social
services. By consider all these elements ABC can easily maintain its reputation.

4.1 Roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of individuals in health and social care workplace
Main aim of ABC care home is to maintain its positive image and to be popular as an
ideal care home which offer effective services to the individuals to contribute in well-being of
individuals. Being a manager, it is a duty of an individuals to monitor all staff members and their
actions and to analyse whether they are performing their roles and responsibilities in an effective
way or not (Lymbery, 2010). For this, feedback form patients can be collected in order to find
out the areas of improvements. It is essential for care home to make the process of collect
feedback compulsory as this will ensure improvements on continuous basis and help ABC care
home to maintain its reputation.
Further, it comes under the responsibility of manager to ensure equity in terms of
accessibility of facilities offered by care home, financial assistance and freedom to patients
depend on their background and focus on moral principles and emotions of the patients of home
care. Managers of health care home remain liable for patients in home care with offer them
effective health and social care services (Wallerstein and Duran, 2010). It comes under the
responsibility of top management to ensure that all patients are receiving adequate and right
medical services or not. It is one of the essential elements which must be consider by managers
as well being of patients totally depend on the medical services offer to them. Role of managers

also consist to evaluate the diet offer to patients, personal hygiene, security of all patients and
cleaning of rooms on continuous basis.
4.2 Own contribution of health and social care policy of organisation
As I am working as a manager in ABC care home which is a social and health care
organisation, which offer variety of health services to all its customers, my role is very essential
formulation and implementation of various policies and procedures. Every employee working in
enterprise does not have the right to mix practical and organisational knowledge and experience.
Being a manager, my contribution is relevant to allow other professional and motivate them to
perform all duties in best possible way. Along with this, being a manager, I will be the primary
authority in protect vulnerable population and I will be the accountable for provide direction to
action of employees and organisational policy with ensure safety of patients. During protection
of patient's human rights, I am the only one which will remain liable for identify and collect the
resources require to ensure best practice in ABC care home. By set and ethical standards in ca
easily handle the work load and can increase my professional knowledge. My work is
contributing more in influencing the quality of services offered to customers.
Being a manager, it comes under my responsibility to evaluate the performance of staff
members on timely basis in order to identify the areas of improvements. This will enhance
quality of services and at the same time results in satisfaction of customers.
4.3 Recommendations to develop contributions to meet requirements
In order to meet requirements of good practice, professional development and education
of workers is very important. For this, ABC care home can conduct training programmes for
staff members and employees (Chretien and Kind,2013). By take participation in various training
programmes employees can develop their skill and at the same time can enhance the level of
their knowledge and can satisfy the various and complex needs of whole population. It is
recommend integrating practices should be implemented at workplace as this will ensure deliver
of super quality services in health and social care enterprise. Practice consists review of current
research in health and social care and execution into practices. All this will ensure protection of
individual and groups and collaborative working environment (Entwistle and et. al., 2010) .
Other than this, in order to increase own contributions in meet good practice requirements in
health and social care home is that there must be proper and effective supervision and
management at workplace and there must be timely delivery of of health care services to patients

(Mitchelland et. al., 2012). Along with this, by offering support to peers, by collect feedback
from patients, decide rights and responsibilities of every staff member own contribution can be
increase and effective results can be achieve.
CONCLUSION
From the above project report, it can be concluded that it is very essential for every home
care to offer effective services to all its clients. Various legislation, policies and code of conduct
must be used by care homes in order to safe from any kind of legal allegation. It is very for home
cares to conduct interaction programme on continuous basis so that service users can interact
with each other.
