The industry of health and social care is considered as one of the largest sectors in
world. There are certain improvements in the unit of health care that helps to increase the level of
life expectancy and improve the quality of life. All the actions taken by healthcare practitioners
are in the favour of patients and providing appropriate quality of services. The present study is
based on East and West Care home that is situated in London. This report provides a clear
understanding of different principles which are implemented in the HSC practices (Carlopio and

PART 1
In context of East and West Care home, there are certain principles that help in ensuring
appropriate care of patients at workplace. It mainly includes the principles of independence in
which an individual has right to perform the activities as per his/her needs and requirements.
These principles help in reducing the level of disputes at workplace (Cutler and Waine, 2003).
Further, the principle of individuality and diversity assists patients to carry out their work on
their own desire. There is an important role played by attitude, behaviour and beliefs which
analyse the mutual understanding with different types of patients. Along with this, it is important
to provide space to all patients as they have their own dignity and it is the main responsibility of
care home to manage the dignity of patients.
As per the given case scenario, some of the methods which are followed by care home for
protecting patients from harm mainly include the assessment of risk which helps to evaluate the
effect of disease that harms the life of patients. In order to reduce the impact of factors such as
risk to the patients, a proper evaluation along with corrective measures is required (Devitt and
Smith, 2007). This method helps in providing quality services to reduce the risks and harm that
are caused by different factors. Further, for reducing the impact of risk in care home, there is

of patients. There is the requirement to make appropriate plan by management in order to reduce
danger from the life of patients.
Furthermore, there are certain advantages of person centered approach that provides an
appropriate medium in order to deliver the services to patients (Lowes and Hulatt, 2013). This
method is helpful to make some improvements in the current process and to adopt certain
innovative ideas in the culture of work of organisation. While using this approach, needs of

West care home, it gives importance to the patients and provides better opportunities to sustain in
the environment.
In context of care home, they provide medical services to the patients which creates
situations of conflicts along with ethical dilemmas (Morse and et.al., 2013). There are some
different types of conflicts arise such as quality of care along with the insufficient knowledge
