Scenario description
The business that I have decided to choose for my project is the Health Gym. This business itself
is a well-equipped gym that has the facilities to meet an individual needs. The Health Gym
consists of a gym that people can use on losing weight, gaining mass, stress relief, meditating
etc. The gym has several of equipment’s that are used on developing people’s strengths of their
body and of their skeleton muscles. These equipment’s are the triceps Bar, Benches, Dumbbells,
Preacher Bench, Rowing machine, treadmill, Sauna Machine included as this helps on resting the
sore muscles or flushing toxins from your body. The Health Gym is there to help each
individuals accomplish their goals.
Key facts of the business operations
Websites
This is one of the key factors of operations, as the website would be used on collecting valuable
information from clients. This is demonstrated when the clients apply for a membership at the
Health Gym, all of their details are up on the system, therefore the clients valuable information
such as billing address, phone number, email and bank details can all be filled up on the website
by the clients, this is then easily accessed by the administration team of the Health Gym and then
get processed on giving the membership to the client. The website is also used on updating
customer’s regularity about any discounts or offers etc. This is done by allowing customers on
having the access on seeing all of the up to date information of the gym and regularly informing
clients of any changes that may occur.
Administrative/ Management
The administration is the main asset of the business as this help the Health Gym on managing
each of their departments and handling the business by helping with the decision making that
takes place on running the business. The Administrative are a main asset to the business because
they ensure that all the departments within the Health Gym are in place and are running smoothly
Customer service support
Another key factor of operations is customer service support. These is because it is important on
interacting with the customers as if they have any enquiries, or have a complaint then the
customer service support can help them with their enquiries. This is demonstrated when a
customer is enquiring about the different types of services that Health Gym provides then the
customer service support can give the client the suitable service that would meet the customers
need or requirements.

Functions
 Membership- this is a function of the business as it offers clients on joining up the gym
monthly with included facilities such as sauna which help reliefs any sore muscles of the
body, beauty suite included which offers clients the range of the beauty treatments and
health assessments can be offered to clients that may have concerning issues such as heart
health and helping the client on seeing what health balance is suitable for them. These
services are there to provide customers with the best facilities their membership has to
offer.
 Providing equipment’s for clients to use- this is a key function as the Health Gym provide
their customers will all the high quality of equipment for them to use.
 New customers- This is there for new existing customers on joining up with the Health
Gym as they can see all the offers and facilities that the Health Gym has to offer.
 Providing one to one training- Health Gym can provide clients with personal training by
having one to one session with a qualified onsite personal trainer on helping them to be
motivated on achieving their goals. In addition having a personal trainer can help the
clients in Health Gym by creating a tailored program which the trainer can help the client
on working with their abilities or needs, this can then help the clients on developing their
skills.
The role of your proposed BIS for the business
The business information system that I have decided to use for my business is database. This is
beneficial for Health Gym as having a database for the business can help on storing out
information quickly and easily. For example in the Health Gym, the client’s details can be easily
stores within the data on storing the client’s valuable information. One of the benefits that
database will have on the business is by checking a member of the Health Gyms history without
having the hassle on logging in to the program as the database will have the clients recent history
of their concession membership and their booking which are instantly recognize when they visit
the Health Gym. In addition, the access control of the database can help on monitoring each
clients as well as making sure of any problems on occurring and can be quickly fixed, rather than
being not noticeable on fixing. The database can be a real asset towards the business as this can
help on alerting the staff members of what clients that have missed their payments or simply help
deny them access if the clients have become too far overdue. Moreover, the database system can
be easily used on directly accessing a client’s membership record.

Brief overview of BIS methods
BIS is the Business Information System. BIS stands for – B – Business, I – Information, S –
System.
The Business Information System (BIS) transform the raw data into the information. It takes
input and gives the output in the correct form.
There are some methods that help the Business Information System like below-
1. Efficiency – it shows the measure of what is produced divided by the performed data.
2. Complexity – it shows the complexity between the modules of the system.
3. Performance – it shows the main objective of the system.
4. Control- the capability of the information system to work under the controlled
environment.
Components of computer-based Information Systems
Hardware- this is the main machinery,
which includes the computer itself
including the monitors, printers and
storage devices.
Software- this is the computer program
which supports them. This is important
as it tells the hardware on how to
function the software. This then helps
on gathering the data.
Data- This is important to the computer-based information because without the third element of
the CBI (Computer based information) the software is not able to function without the key data.
This would be use for my business as I would require the raw data information of my clients
(Clients address, phone number, email address, bank details etc) this is important as it helps
collecting the data and maintain each clients membership of the Health Gym.
Human- Every computer based information require people on creating the system. This is the
most important element of the computer based information system.
Procedures- This is there to show how it will be process. This is because procedures are the main
policy that operates a computer system. This is important for my business as I can access which
client’s lives closer to the Health Gym by processing and this is then processed the data into
information.

 Input- This is the raw data that is being processed from the business or outside the
organization.
 Process- transferring the data into the useful information

Factors affecting the business environment of an organisation

Weather/ location- This factor can affect the business environment, for example if a business
allocates a location then they would need to find the right location which has access to all the
resources such as the raw materials, labor, transportation etc. The weather therefore can affect
the business because for instant transportation, costs may be higher or the labor cost may not be
available because of the location of the business. In addition, this may also restrict the growth of
the business.
General environment
Economic factors- the factors that have an effect on my business are the inflation rate, interest
rates, fiscal policies and monetary. For a business like Health Gym, this will have a major impact
on the demand and prices to their services. If there is an increase to the interest rates than this,

mean people will have less money on spending on leisure. This factor can affect my business as
if client’s have less money to spend then they will only have enough on spending for necessities
and not using the money for leisure activities. This then can lead to Health Gym closing down as
there are less people joining up and less revenue coming in the business.
Legislation- this can be a factor affecting the business as legislation are changing from time to
time so this means all business must follow the legislation that takes place and this can therefore
can affect the business environment.
Technology- this can be a factor affecting my business because of the high demand on
technology changing each minute and having new resources of technology. Therefore, this factor
can affect my business, for example if my business does not have the latest resources then
therefore no clients will want to join up the Heath Gym and apply elsewhere.
Public opinion- this can be a factor that affect my business as if the public give their perception
of my business in a negative way then this will decrease my sale intake, as no clients will want to
join up with my business because of the negative opinion.
Specific Environment
Customers- Building a close relationship with the customer is important, as you are able to
influence the customer on purchasing a membership in your business. In addition, the market
research can be used on determining the effectiveness of your marketing messages.
Competitors- this can be a factor on affecting the business as there will be competitions between
businesses. In addition, being successful in your business can determine how popular your
business is and if theirs other businesses like yourself then there will be competitions between
the businesses.
Suppliers- this can also be a factor as suppliers can determine of raising the prices of supplying
the products to the businesses. In addition, suppliers order may not arrive on time and this can
affect the business, as they will have no goods to deliver to the customers.
Employee relations- this can influence the success of the business as due to some working
conditions, employees can disagree on working and this can affect the business because
employees will not work and then the business will not be making any sales.
Managerial decision-making

 Strategic decisions-(long-term decision): This involves having long-term implications on
the business enterprise.
 Tactical decisions- (Mid-term planning)- these decisions are taken place in the middle
level of the management
 Operational- (Short term planning) - these decisions are taking place on relating to the
day-to-day operations of the enterprise.
Discussion of your chosen method
One method that has a big impact towards my business is factors affecting the business
environment. This is because all the factors are important for the business as they influence the
operation and the performance of the business. This then helps the business know their key
strengths and weaknesses on how to improve their business. For example, the customers in the
business can give their feedback on how the service was and therefore this helps the business
improve their services/products.

Feasibility Study
Executive Summary
Feasibility study ensures the project is legally, financially and technically feasible or not. It is
very useful to find that whether the project is beneficial or not from all prospective. Feasibility
study ensures us that whether the project should be built or not and whether it will be successful
or not. It is very basic step and should be done first before starting work on the software
development.
The project can be tested feasibly in the following areas-
Technical feasibility
In technical feasibility, we check whether the organization can provide all resources for the
project or not. The resources may be hardware, software, humans etc. The Health Gym is
technically feasible as all resources like exercise machines, trainers etc. all can be easily
available.
Financial feasibility
In financial feasibility, we do the cost benefit analysis of the project. It checks whether the
proposed system will be beneficial for the organization or not. The cost of the resources allotted
to the project should be less than the benefit. The Health Gym will be economically feasible if
the location of the Health Gym is good and number of persons will join the Health Gym.
Managerial feasibility
In managerial feasibility, the viability of the proposed system is measured. The opportunities
along with the threats that may be gained by the environment will be checked in managerial
feasibility. The viability of the Health Gym will be excellent if the location, trainers etc. are good
because these factors are the most important factors for the Health Gym.

Scope
There are so many benefits of the feasibility study to the Health Gym as feasibility study checks
the viability of the proposed project in detail. It checks the cost and benefits of the Health Gym.
It checks all the required resources are available or not. There are so many other more factors
that are measured by the feasibility study like financial condition of the Health Gym etc. It
checks whether the Health Gym is financially beneficial or not after building as if the Health
Gym is not beneficial financially, it is not feasible to open the Health Gym at this location. There
should be some changes before building the Health Gym in case of not good financially.
Background
This is the new proposed system and a new gym will be open. It will not be integrated with any
other project. It is an independent project that will work for the Health Gym. There will be
different modules in the proposed system like management module, training module, customer
service module. All the modules will be connected to each other.

The proposed BIS is the Health Gym. These are the main features and functions that should be
implemented in the system-
1. There will be management module that will be helpful for the management level
employees to manage the member details, inventories, training schedule etc.
2. There will be training module in the system that will be helpful to manage the training
sessions and will store the details of trainers.
3. The membership detail of the members will also be stored into the database.
4. There will be customer service module to help the customers and to resolve their queries.
5. Manage inventory detail like equipments detail etc.

1. A user needs the notifications for the training sessions.
2. A user needs the equipments in the gym.
3. A user needs the best trainers to learn the exercises and yoga etc.

The proposed system is the Health Gym. It is the system that will help the users to maintain their
health. There are so many other gyms in the same location. But they are not giving yoga training

Other gyms have not the system with good user interface to access the information about the
gym. That is why; the Health Gym is providing the best system with easy to access user

Conclusion
Feasibility study is the starting phase of the project development. It is the first step. It gives the
answer of the really important question- “Should we start the project?” after feasibility studies
the organization can move ahead. If the results are not good after feasibility study, the
organization does changes in the project or dropped the idea of creating the project.
It shows the main and important features of the proposed system which helps in developing the
successful system.

The requirement analysis produces the approved requirement specification document. Following
methods are sued to complete the requirement analysis-
Stakeholder Analysis
Stakeholder analysis is the process to identify the stakeholders and their needs. It describes the
stakeholders, their needs and the relationship between the stakeholders.
Stakeholders are those who directly and indirectly affect the project goal. There may be different
stakeholders like individual, department in the organization, group or individual in or outside the
organization. Stakeholders are categorized into the following category-
Primary Stakeholder
Primary stakeholders are the software development department. There will be different groups in
the software development department like software developers, testers, data modelers, data
analysts, business intelligent analysts etc.
The software department analyzes the project and work on the project to achieve the project goal
and the testing team tests the project for good results.
Secondary Stakeholder
Secondary stakeholders are the project manager and the administrative team. They manage the
complete project and under their guidance only, it can be accomplished.
The project manager and the administrative team make scenario and give instructions to the
developer team and testing team.
Tertiary Stakeholder
The tertiary stakeholders are client or investors. They are very important in achieving the goal of
the project. They provide the amount to make a successful project.
