ISSUES IN HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
Actions to improve the situation
HOA have been experiencing huge number of staff turnover and increased staff
dissatisfaction owing to the ongoing conflicts between the ED and the team leaders. The ED
has gone on record mentioning that he looks towards HOA as his own baby and is critical to
the success of the organization. On occasions, he is often stricter and critical with few of his
staffs which could be only to improve their work performance.
On the other hand, the team leaders feel that the ED have been overtly interfering and
often steps in their shoes and do not allow them the limited freedom to take their own
decisions. Additionally, they have also felt that only mistrusts their decision making
capabilities and work functionality owing to their gender.
Therefore, the rising conflict affected the overall productivity and performance of the
organization (Chaudhry & Asif, 2015). Hence, the need of the hour was to organise effective
meeting sessions between the team leaders and the ED which could help in resolving the
conflicts.
Change in direction style
The leadership style which has been followed over here is dominant and autocratic
leadership style, whereas there was a need for transformational leadership which will help in
coping up with the present situation by taking the views of the employees into consideration.
Additionally, such leadership styles could also help to cope up with issues such as gender
discrimination. Hence, for removing gender imbalances a transformational leadership could
be implemented which favours change management through sufficient education of the
employees and the management (Reio & Trudel, 2017).

Debrief the situation
Organizational environment leadership
The current situation of HOA reflected conflict between management and employees
which could be blamed upon bad leadership practices. As mentioned by Chaudhry & Asif
(2015), effective communication practices are one of the most important aspects of
organizational leadership.
Planning and coordinating
For resolving of the current situation of the company effective negotiation and
communication between the staff and the management were required. Additionally, effective
coordination of activities was dependent upon the leadership skills and styles. As suggested
by Löhr, Weinhardt, Graef and Sieber (2017), ineffective leadership styles could worsen the
situation of conflicts.
Program design and evaluation
For the program design and evaluation effective communication gateways needs to be
set between the team leaders and the management. Hence, the responsibility to
implementation of effective communication rests upon the shoulders of the higher authorities
for which internal audit and organizational check could be conducted to find out the problem
situation.
