INTRODUCTION
Health Sector refers to a sector in which a detailed and wide coverage of different types
of healthcare services can be made by the different types of healthcare organizations. It can
include hospitals, nursing homes and various other healthcare service providers in the market
(Ajibo, 2020). Thus in this way it becomes quite essential that a detailed coverage of the health
can be made in a highly effective manner. Working in the Health Sector has a wide range of
different types of needs and requirements which are required to be covered. Working in this
sector is a different type of experience. This report will provide a detailed analysis of the same.
In this assignment, detailed and specific analysis will be made on potential careers in healthcare,
structure of healthcare provisions in United Kingdom. Additionally, multi-discliplinary working
in the healthcare sector will be discussed as a part of this particular project.
TASK 1
P1: Requirements of different careers in the health sector
There are different types of careers in the health sector which can be considered by the
people so that they are able to progress further in this particular field effectively and efficiently
(Ancarani, Mauro and Giammanco, 2019). Mental Health Nurse and Dental Nurse are two
separate careers to be considered by the female candidates who can make sure that they are able
to achieve their different types of goals and objectives in the future. An explanation of the
requirements of these careers can be made in the following manner-
Mental Health Nurse-
Mental Health Nurse is a position in the hospitals and healthcare organizations in which
there is a detailed coverage of the ways in which proper treatment can be provided to the mental
health patients (Dajani and et.al., 2017). Thus in this way it can be said that this position is quite
important to be considered by the patients which will enable them to ensure that they can get
good care in the right manner.
There are particular requirements which are required to be fulfilled by the candidates for
becoming Mental Health Nurse. These requirements are specified in the following manner-
Five GCSEs including English, Maths and Science are required in order to become a
Mental Health Nurse.
Two or Three A levels are required.

Further, there are also the following requirements-
Registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council i.e. NMC is required to register yourself
as a nurse who wants to take the care of mental health patients.
Pre-Registration nursing degree has to be completed so that the basic knowledge in
nursing can be obtained.
Dental Nurse-
Dental Nurse is a position where the different types of nurses are able to ensure that they
are able to take care of the patients who have dental problems and issues (Dall’Ora and et.al.,
2016). Thus in this particular position the nurses are required to ensure that they are able to take
a proper and better care of the patients in the right manner.
The following are the requirements for the purpose of becoming a Dental Nurse in the future.
These requirements are explained as follows-
A minimum of 2 GCSEs in English Language and Maths is essential. This is required for
a part-time course.
Full-time degree courses in Dental Nurse requires that the A-level or Level 3
qualifications can be considered by the people.
Therefore, In this way it can be said that both Mental Health Nurse and Dental Nurse are the
positions where the people can make sure that they are able to attain the desired qualifications in
a proper manner which will help them in making a career in nursing.
TASK 2
P2: Overall structure of health service position in home country
Healthcare services in England has a detailed structure. The structure of these services
can be explained as follows-
NHS-
Most of the healthcare services in England are provided by NHS (Greenhalgh, 2016).
NHS stands for National Health Service. It is an organization which runs on public money and
therefore is able to provide the right services to different types of people.
NHS has an aim of ensuring that the healthcare services can be made accessible to all
people so that they are able to bring an improvement in their health and can get well from the
disease which they are facing.

The following services are provided by NHS to the different types of people having a
wide variety of needs and requirements related with getting good services related with health-
Urgent and emergency care services
Dentists
Opticians
Online services
There are different types of ways in which service users can get access to the services
which are provided by the NHS. For example- The users can access NHS 111 in the case of an
emergency, they can call 999 in case someone is in need of getting healthcare services if they are
seriously ill, walk-in centres are also there for minor illnesses, local pharmacist's services can be
used for the purpose of getting the right advice, an appointment with GP can also be booked.
However there are certain barriers lack of knowledge among the people, lack of access to
healthcare facilities in certain areas. These type of barriers can stop people from getting good
healthcare services provided by NHS in the country.
CCGs-
CCGs are the groups which have been established with a particular aim of ensuring that
the different types of NHS services can be provided to a wide range of people in England
(Johnson and et.al., 2018). The following services are provided by CCGs to the people in the
country-
Planned hospital care
Rehabilitative care
Urgent and emergency care
Mental health services
Access to CCGs is available for the people as they are present in the different types of
areas where they are able to ensure that they can access these services in the right manner
effectively and efficiently.
Barriers of access to CCGs is due to the reason that the people can problems and
difficulties in locating them and the lack of presence of CCGs in certain areas.

P3: Roles and Responsibilities of Health Organisations
There are various types of roles and responsibilities which can be played by a wide range
of Health Organisations (Khan and et.al., 2019). The following Health Organisations are present
in England with a wide range of roles and responsibilities-
Public Health England-
It is an organization which has come into existence due to the reason that the
reorganisation of NHS has been carried out (Levecque and et.al., 2017). The roles and
responsibilities of Public Health England are explained as follows-
Making the public healthier is a main aim of PHE because it has to provide a wide range
of healthcare services to the different types of people in the country which can help a lot
in ensuring that the people are able to get good services at reasonable costs.
Reducing the differences between health services is also an aim of PHE because in this
way it makes sure that it is able to provide the healthcare services to the people without
differentiating between them.
Advising the government is another important role which is played by PHE because in
this way the organization makes sure that it is able to provide the right advice so that a
better treatment can be received by the people in a highly effective manner without facing
problems and issues.
Preparing for and responding to health emergencies is also a role which is played by PHE
in which it is able to ensure that the different types of health emergencies can be dealt in
the right manner and the public is provided with good care effectively and efficiently.
Health and Care Professions Council-
HCPC is an organization which acts like a statutory regulator of around 2,80,000
professionals in the country (Lubis, 2018). Thus this organization makes sure that the different
types of healthcare professionals are provided with the right platform for the display of their
skills and the services which are provided by them can be regulated in the right manner. The
roles and responsibilities which are fulfilled by HCPC are explained as follows-
Setting of the different types of standards can be done here in which the different types of
healthcare professionals can be regulated in the right manner and thus the services which
are provided by them can be managed effectively and efficiently.

Similarly, In U.K. The following legislation can create a particular influence on the healthcare
services of the people highly effectively and efficiently-
Dentists Act 1984-
It is an act of the parliament of U.K. Which has different types of specific guidelines
which can be followed by Dentists to ensure that they are able to provide their services according
to the rules and regulations of the country. The following are the details of this particular act-
Different types of dental bodies are covered in the law which ensures that the Dentists are
given optimum guidelines to follow so that they are able to achieve their particular goals
and objectives.
Tighter regulation on the Dentists can be done when this particular law is implemented
which ensures that they are able to provide good dental care services to the patients who
have a need for the same.
The act creates an influence on the health provision because it enables the Dentists to be able to
ensure that they can provide the right treatment to the different types of patients effectively and
efficiently. Thus this is an important act for providing better dental care services in the right
manner to the people in the country.
Health and Social Care Act 2012-
It is an act of the Parliament which aims to provide detailed guidelines on ensuring the use of
healthcare services in the right manner so that the best care of the health of the people can be
taken highly effectively and efficiently (Marmot, 2017). The following are the details of this act-
In the Act there is a detailed proposal to create an independent NHS Board which can
ensure that the Health and Social Care services are provided in the right manner to the
different types of people effectively and efficiently.

The act proposes to cut the number of health bodies so that the overall costs which are
incurred by the government on healthcare can be reduced highly effectively and
efficiently.
The act also aims to ensure that more power is given to the different types of individuals
so that they are able to have more control on the course of action which has to be taken
by them effectively and efficiently so that they are able to take a better care of their
health and can receive good services.
The act can create a particular influence on the health provision because it enables the
empowerment of the individuals for the purpose of getting good healthcare services in the right
manner which can enable them to be able to ensure that they can get healthcare services which
can allow them to remain healthy and get value for the money which they are paying for the
purpose of receiving these particular services.
P5: Role of workforce development in health sector
Workforce development is refer to the supporting the staff and volunteers and as team to
promote their skills and efficiency (Ngure, 2018). To develop their knowledge it require man
tools and methods to enhance their inefficiency. In the health care sector, it is important to build
that efficiency and effectiveness to meet the requirement of social care employees. This helps in
increasing overall performance and customer satisfaction and it is important also achieving the
positive outcome to the people. Its is essential way to enhance the staff training top keep their
knowledge and skill up to date. Following are the ways to promote the workforce development
are as follows-
Meetings- This could proof as the efficient way to encourage and motivate the
employees of social care (Rovithis and et.al., 2016). This include the proper meeting of
the all managers and staff members to go through the plan that guide them to further
career opportunities and ensuring high quality services. This is key way to discuss the
topic and facilitates in taking appropriate decisions regarding their career growth.
Reflective practice- This is best way for the staff to learn new skills and developing their
overall opportunities and personality and make it important for them to learn new skills to
increase their efficiency. This increases the self-awareness among the staff as it become
important for the social care to understand the necessity of other.

Training and development- This method is used by many organisation to improve the
overall effectiveness and efficiency of the concerned staff. Through this, they able to
learn the latest and new soft skills and technical skills that is required in the health care
sector as this important for the staff to develop with the time period. These training and
development is provided by the manger or leader of the department and they make sure
that they deliver all necessary need to the staff so that they were able to perform more
effectively in the management. In the healthcare sector the need to fulfil the customer is
main responsibilities for the staff and this could be achieved through the effective
personal development training.
Leadership- This is also very effective way to enhance the performance and this also
monitor the overall overview of their personality and this could be fulfilled by the proper
leader in the department (Savaşan and et.al., 2018). The staff in healthcare requited
certain motivation and self-aware about themselves and this could be done by the leader
and and many times it happens that they able to deliver the effective way to improve the
performance. In the healthcare sector, leader analyse the strength and weakness of
individual staff and accordingly guide them to foster the confidence. It boost the their self
confidence and they able to deliver their output and try to put all efforts to meet the
requirement of the management. Effective leadership is also very important in the
management and staff able to perform more better way.
P6: Examples of Multi-disciplinary working in health service provision
Multi-disciplinary working in health service provision is quite important to be considered
because it enables the people to be able to ensure that they can get good healthcare services in a
highly effective manner (Seshadri and et.al., 2016). The following are the examples of multi-
disciplinary working in health service provision-
CAHMS-
CAHMS refers to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. In the provision of
health services it is quite important because it ensures that the Children and Adolescents are
given appropriate treatment when they face mental health issues which will enable them to be
able to take a good care of their health in a highly effective manner.
In health service provision, it can make sure that the Children and Adolescents are able
to take good care of their mental health. Mental health is quite an important topic which needs a

higher-level of awareness among the people so that they can make sure that they can report their
various types of mental health issues in a highly effective manner.
The teams at CAHMS make sure that they are able to assess the problems and issues
related with mental health in detail which will also help a lot in ensuring that the detailed and
thorough assessment can be carried out in a highly effective manner which will help in the
attainment of the health-related goals and objectives effectively and efficiently.
Youth offending teams-
Young offending teams are able to ensure that the youth who get into a problem with the
law can be dealt with in a highly effective manner (Tamminen and et.al., 2018). The main aim
of such teams is to make sure that the young people can be kept away from crime so that the
young criminals can be kept away from crime.
In health service provision, these teams can be quite helpful so that the young people are
able to report the various types of incidents which are faced by them which will help them a lot
in ensuring that they are able to keep their health in the right shape effectively and efficiently and
can solve their problems and issues easily.
Thus it can be said that both CAHMS and Youth offending teams are the examples of
multi-disciplinary working which enables the people in healthcare sector to be able to ensure that
they can provide the best services to the people in the right manner.

CONCLUSION
From the above report, it can be concluded that Working In The Health Sector is quite a
challenging task as it can lead towards various problems and issues which are required to be
dealt in the right manner. Thus in this way it can be said that by working in this particular sector
a person can gain more experience in the right manner effectively and efficiently. There are
various requirements of the different positions in the healthcare sector. There is also an overall
structure of health service provision in the different countries. Also health care organizations
have various roles and responsibilities. Legislation and policies can be applied in the right
manner for influencing health provisions. Workforce development has an important role to play
in the health sector. Also, multi-disciplinary working is important to be considered so that the
different types of healthcare related teams are able to provide their services in the right manner
effectively and efficiently.
