AI Summary
This report delves into the critical aspects of health promotion and public health, examining key concepts such as information literacy and evidence-based practices. It explores the significance of literature reviews and various search strategies employed to gather relevant data, including the utilization of the PICO framework. The report provides a detailed analysis of different databases, particularly Google Scholar and Emerald Insight, which are used to collect reliable medical data for research. It also discusses the application of Boolean operators and the process of article appraisal, including the methodology and outcomes of a specific research project aimed at reducing smoking habits through interventions. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of these strategies in improving public health standards.

INTRODUCTION
Health promotion are used by the health care organization to make people aware of the
different health related issues that are affecting their personal life and health and reduce their
efficiency. For the health care organization like National Health Services are concerned with the
health standards local citizens of country (Sharma, 2018). The main objectives of this
organization is to keep the people of country healthy and free form the diseases and health
issues. There are different things will be mentioned in report that can help the organization to
improve health standards of country. The concept of information literacy will be explained in the
report. Evidence based public health will be studied in report along with knowledge of literature
review. Various search strategies that used in searching article will be analysed in the report to
make proper judgement. The simple appraisal of article will be provided in the report to
understand how whole process was completed.
Background
Information Literacy
The concept of information literacy is known as ability to find out, evaluate,
communicate and use in different formats in various situations where decision making, problem
soling and knowledge acquisition is required (Baum, 2016). This also can be consider as ability
of the individual person to evaluate and analyse what kind of information is required to solve
particular condition. Ability of information literacy can help the people to gather effective
information to solve different issues and problems. Some other benefits of information literacy
are- it helps to find out relevant information in the process. It improves the quality of information
that is used in the particular situation and it also helps to avoid the plagiarism in the research
work. This is how information literacy can help the researcher and students to maintain the
quality of work and education with in different processes.
Evidence based Public Health
The evidence based public health can be considered as the process or practices that are
used by the health care officials and health care organization to develop, implement and analyse
the effectiveness of programs and policies in public health by using principle of scientific
reasoning, systematic uses of data and information system (Lindström, 2018). There are
different decisions are used by the health care organization to improve the implementation of
different policies that can help them to improve goal conversion rate for particular movement.

There are different direct and indirect processes that can help the health care organization to
make positive change in the health policies and practices. The main advantage of the evidence
based public health practice is related to the downsizing of the data for the health care
organization to make effective decision for the particular policy or practice that is need to be
implemented in the practice (Tishelman and Lindqvist, 2016). This also can help the health care
organization to justify and demonstrate the benefits of policies for the people who are taking
advantage of these policies.
Literature Review
Literature review is a process that is used by the researcher to search and evaluate the
current available literature and information of particular subject or data. The main purpose of
literature to design a document that is consists of specific data that can help people get brief
summery of data that is provided in the report (Klesges, 2018). This is the most common process
that is used by the researchers to provide briefing of different authors with in a document to
summarized the data and information and find literature gap in order to conduct further research
work. There are different advantage of literature in the literature review. It can help the person to
get effective and relevant information on certain topic which is further considered for the
research work. This is not possible to study complete data and information. Do literature can hep
the individual person to develop effective knowledge in short period of time.
These important for the individual person to keep the research process focused in order to
develop better data base (Chedid, Terrell and Phillips, 2018). In this process questions can help
the person to find the information as per the requirement of the particular problem.
Search Strategy
There are various data base are possible to use the particular information about particular
public health research work. There are two main data bases that are used in the research paper
are- google scholar and Emerald Insight (Bridge, Lomazzi and Bedi, 2019). These are the most
efficient data and information sources that can be used to gather different type of medical data
for research. There are many other information sources available and can be used to collect data
but the data & information provided on the google Scholar and Emerald Insight are most
efficient sources. The research work provided on these sources is authentic and reliable. That's
why these two resources are used to collect data.

Pico frame work is a process that is used in the process that can help the individual
person or organization to perform evidence based practices (Evans, Coutsaftiki and Fathers,
2017). This frame work is mainly used in the health care organization that can use this process in
implementing various policies and practices in health care services. This frame work also can be
used by the health care organization to develop literature searching strategy to develop. It is a
specialised frame work that is used by the health care organization to form research question and
facilitate the literature search. This is how it can help the organization to complete their work
efficiently (Hernandez-Aguado and Zaragoza, 2016). The full form of PICO frame work is P -
Patient problem I - Intervention, C - Comparison control and O – outcome. This is how the
problem based evaluation is made in the process to collect specific data about the research.
Keywords used in Search Process
To search the data and information on the specific topic PICO frame work different key
words are used. This keywords are related to the topic which is interventions to reduce the
smoking habit of people (Niederberger and Keller, 2018). The keywords like smoking data,
preventions methods and interventions are used in order to get data and information for the
particular topic.
Keywords Used in Boolean Operators
There are different keywords are used in order to get proper data and information of the
respective topic (Tilford, 2018). To get accurate result keywords like AND, NOT and OR are
used to get specific information of topic. This process of implementing Boolean Keyword can
help to get data and information for specific topic.
Number of Search Result Generated by Using Different Search Process
In the search process of information sources there are around thousands of research
projects have been found that are shortlisted through- eliminating the search result by date, topic,
currency and name of country this is how the final result of article has been generated. These
limiters and filters are used in order to get more accurate data for the research project.
Simple Appraisal of Article
Aim of Article
To perform randomized test of brief intervention to reduce smoking to improve public
health.

Document Page
The main purpose of this research work is to improve the health of people by making
aware about smoking and provide them effective interventions in process of health promotions.
Research Methodology
In a article there are different research methods are used by the research er to generate
more accurate data to conclude proper result. This process can help them to create relevant
research work. In this process evaluation research is performed. The complete research work has
been completed in with in the time limit that is provided by the peers. For the research work
various location like library and cyber cafes are used. These two locations are used to get
relevant data on topic. There are 350 participants are used in sampling process that has been
performed because this report is based on primary secondary research that includes qualitative
and quantitative data. In this process various type of practical numerical test data has been used
to get a data base. On the basis of secondary data collected statistical data analysis has been
performed to get more accurate data. There is exploratory approach is used to get more accurate
result in the end. This research process was completed in span of 2 months.
The main outcome of this research work is related to theory of planned behaviour
variables, nicotine dependence and quitting also more people have quit smoking in the test
procedure which was about intervention for smoking.
As per the research process researcher has identified that the process or intervention
program that is used in the process are related to motivational processes and volitional process
are effective in all cases. This intervention program is efficient.
There is different type of information is analysed in this research which is based on the
group of 350 people were involved in the intervention program to leave smoking and result of
this process are effective in most of cases.
CONCLUSION
This report is concluding the process that is followed in searching particular data and
information related to specific topic. Various search processes and methods has been evaluated
in this process to find particular research process. The keywords that are used in the searching
process also has been considered in the report. Form the article that is collected from the
particular source is concluding the intervention that can be used to reduce the smoking habit in
people in order to improve the health standards in country.
