INTRODUCTION
The mental health is one of most concerned issue that can make the impact on the proper
function of a human being (Dalgleish and et.al., 2020). There can be various types of trends that
can be seen in the mental health of the adults that falls in the age group of over 65. The adults of
the Hammersmith and Fulham area of London can be seen facing this issue.
The report will explain about the various aspects of the mental health that can make an
impact on the over all health of an adult. The aim of the report is to analyse and understand the
various aspects of the issue of mental health.

The area to which HNA report is based on is Hammersmith and Fulham London Borough
which is highlighting the demographic profile which is described as how the population is being
addressed and this concerns the major aspects of drawing the demographics which is 182,493 at
the time of census of 2011 and the current estimates of Hammersmith and Fulham London
Borough has risen to 185,004 which is an increase of 1.4%. This helps in knowing that it the
third lowest population growth in London. The population has projected to continue to rise faster
between the 2011 till 2022 (GALLO, GKIOULEKA and et.al., 2019). Hammersmith and Fulham
London Borough is unique for its community features which addresses that it is the home to
Hammersmith Apollo, which is London’s best known event venue, as well as two major clubs of
football along with central London venues and the O2 also (Chelsea F.C and Fulham F.C.)
Further, the key socio-economic circumstances in Hammersmith and Fulham London
Borough helps in addressing the aspects as to how the issues regarding the health is taken into
concern and this helps in knowing that there are certain aspects which are being addressed within
the structure of analysing the negative impact of the socio-economic circumstances and issues

scale within the Hammersmith and Fulham London Borough considering the life and health of
the residents.
The Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) and health commissioners pay attention to in
terms of population health maintenance and improvement in Hammersmith and Fulham London
Borough help in addressing and working with the statutory NHS bodies which is responsible for
commissioning of health care service for the Hammersmith and Fulham London Borough area.
They are the trust cares which help in solving the mental health issues which the adults over the
age of 65 are facing and are suffering from (Coultas, Kieslich and Littlejohns, 2019). Both the
CCG and health commissioners pay attention to the care services which should be provided to
people and specifically in this case to adults over the age 65. Yes, there are certain longstanding
and recent changes that makes the Borough to live in by addressing the fact that this area is safer
and quiet peaceful to live in. As the adults over the age 65 are facing the mental health issues
therefore, the care services are provided and are delivered to their homes in significant manner.

Strengths – The care services and residents are provided to the adults over age 65 which helps in
providing them the care services at large scale (Ungpakorn, Sehmbi and MacLaine, 2021).
Advantages – The Hammersmith and Fulham London Borough area is positive in its residents
and is framed and build in such manner that there is safety and precaution to the adults over age

There are certain clear priorities for the future service provision and utilization regarding the

configuration which are carried for the health systems, the role of primary care should be paid

et.al., 2020). Resources- The lack of proper resources that is required for the effective cure of mental
health can be a challenge which can result into making the situation even worse. Service capacity- The capacity of the services that is given to the patients can be a
challenge when the service provider is not able to effective provide the services because
there is lack of capacity.
Issues in service utilisation- The ineffective utilisation of the services can be a challenge
when the patient is unable to effectively utilize the services provided to them can make
the mental health issue even worse (O’Rourke, Wrigley and Hammond, 2018).
Recommendations -
After looking at the challenges there can be the various recommendations that can be
given for the effective treatment of the mental health issue that can be seen in the adults of
Hammersmith and Fulham area that are over the age of 65. Different sources of funding- The collection of funding from different sources such as
loan and donations can help in overcoming the challenges of ineffective funding.

Gathering resources- Gathering sources from the surrounding can solve the problem of
lack of resources. Improving the service quality- Improving the service quality and proper supply of
services can provide the effectiveness in the treatment of mental health issue.
Proper utilisation of services- The proper utilisation of services will be able to provide
the effectiveness and better treatment to the patient of the mental health
issue.

Thus, it can be concluded that the public health issue of mental health can be considered
as one of the main issue in the adults of Hammersmith and Fulham area of London that falls in
the age group of over 65. The problem of mental health issue is one of the major problem that
can affect the overall health of an adult. The various intervention such as the medication and the
recreational therapies are available as the current interventions for the issue of mental health. The
various challenges such as the ineffective utilisation of the services and lack of proper resources
are the current challenges that can be faced by the patients of the mental health issue.
