Work of the Robert Wood Foundation Committee.
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Committee Initiative for the development of a
vision responsible for changes within the health care system with the description of several
health issues in the current and the future plans, as there is a high demand for quality health
care. There is a believe from the committee that, there must be improvement of the health
providers, mostly for the nurses and pharmacist. In the report "Future of Nursing: Leading
Change, Advancing Health," The IOM and committee predict the future in which prevention
and primary care are the main focus within the health care system, where interpersonal
coordination and collaboration are what to be taken in a daily basis (Hassmiller and Reinhard,
2019).
For the initiation and establishment of an initiative for the last two years, the
committee approaches IOM concerning the future of nursing to come up with
recommendations including the alteration within the public and institutional policies at
different levels of government; local, national, and state. The committee comes up with the
important duties of nurses for the designing and implementation of an effective and efficient
health care system.
There are still conceptualization duties of nurses as in the actual context of the
shortage, societal issues, and more significant workforce which lying in the technological
advancement in the future (Willgerodt, Brock and Maughan, 2018) . Also, there is an
expansion of nursing faculty by raising the number of nursing schools and recruitment in
studies to produce well-groomed and adequate nurses to supply for the future and current
nurses demand. Innovation technology for the examination of the health professionals and
service delivery as it will provide well-baked nurses for service delivery.

The above recommendations by the IOM is after appreciate and accept, the important
duties which nurses normally play within and outside the health care. The recommendations
in the report are raised after appreciating and acceptance to the specific role nurses do play
within the health care. It is vital as nurses have that consistency and close cute proximity to
care for different patient with different health issues.
Nurses are required to have a deep scientific understanding of the process in their
field of duties and have a unique capacity of sometimes taking the responsibilities of other
health care professional in relation to their role to assist in the redesigning health care for a
better service delivery. There is also the aim of reduction in the gap that exists between the
access to patients and area coverage which allow for addition of the economic value to the
population (Oermann, 2015).
Four "Key Messages" that structure the IOM Report recommendations.
For effective policymaking and workforce planning, better data collection is required
for the improvement in the information structure as is clear that nurses needed an excellent
environment to work on but with their perspectives and skills. Reformation within health care
requires an exceptional level of planning for it to achieve a fundamental change in their
operations.
There should be a coexistence between nurses and other health professionals for
the redesigning of the health care all over the states as many nurses started their career with
no intension of becoming leaders. However, for the transformation in health care, strong
leadership is needed. A nurse with an adaptive capacity will be required for the
transformation of the health care for them to take up re-conceptualize duties in any settings as
the reeducate themselves for effective leadership positions (Altman, 2016).
A higher education level is required for the nurses as they take training for the
promotion of academic progression. Main alteration within the practice environment and the

health care system in the US will need a significant change within the education of nurses
upon receiving their licenses and even before. The necessity of the improved education will
ensure for a better service delivery by nurses who are currently working and those who want
to be nurses in future.
Finally, there should be a better practice by the nurses within the level of their
training and education. It will ensure that all the citizens can, therefore, readily access the
health services of high quality (Buerhaus, 2017). For all the population to get access to better
health care service, the contribution of the nurses and other health care professional team is to
be maximized, be updated and standardize within the scope of the working regulation for it to
have full capacity. The insurance providers should be in line with the regulatory, financial
and policy changes for it to provide patients with freedoms of the selection from several
providers available.
Roles of the state-base action coalition.
An action coalition led by a group of nurses and business stakeholders to drive local
changes by working for the transformations within the health care via nursing practices. An
action coalition in every state within the US and Washington D.C. has the responsibility of
carrying out campaign in different level of government (Breda, Barbee and Zadoroznyj
2018). There must be advocates from different organization, businesses, and health system to
represent other for the achievement in building a healthier state. Through the formation of
coalitions, they make their main objective for the betterment of the health facilities. Due to
the coalition, Michigan state is seen to have more advance health care facilities than before
by updating the laws and regulation in nursing and health care as a whole.

Initiatives on which state's action coalition is working to advance nursing professions.
The state-based action coalitions promote for two major initiatives that carry out a
vital role in ensuring the provision of high-quality services in health care. It, therefore, the
responsibilities of the trained nurses to commit in ensuring that quality health services are
provided to the entire population (Cordova et al, 2019).
Secondly, the recommendations from the report are to be implemented through the
action of coalition work by campaigning over it to the relevant authorities and has created an
improvement in health care services. Due to stakeholders, failure in collaboration has led to
different barriers within health care, which in turn will require participation among the
stakeholder for a great outcome to be achieved.
Barriers to advancement of nurse professions
One of the barriers is the reduction in the nurse's practice. NP can engage in one
element
of the nurse practitioners' practice, and the regulation is via a joint agreement with other
organizations outside the health care system to provide for the patient care (Frege, 2015).
Secondly, there is a restricted practice whereby nurse practitioners are required to participate
in at least one of the NP practice elements, and it needs delegation, team management, and
close supervision by the third part.
