been fund to maintain the confidentiality regarding the personal information and privacy of the
patient. The hospital authority collect data regarding the background of the patent and keep the
record with proper safety measure. In case of need the hospital authority provide the records of
the patient to the higher medical and management department for further use.

Infection control and personal protective equipment: It has been found that in order to control
the spread of infection or pathogenic substance the hospital staffs use personal protective

The hospital authority should refer a child suffering from severe injury or health issue to the
emergency medical team for adequate treatment and it is important to monitor the child 24*7 in

It is important to follow the all the four plan mentioned above for a manager of health care.
However, the child care plan is the most important among them. It is the responsibility of the
health care manager to take adequate steps in order to ensure patient safety especially for the
children. He or she could arrange meeting or conference regarding child protection plan and
procedure in the hospital and deal with the issues in the implementation of the plan (aihw.gov.au
2018).
Answer 1.3
In case of failure to fulfil the responsibility of a manager, he or she should amend it as soon as
possible. If a manager fails to perform the above mentioned responsibility he or she would be
penalized according to the penalty imposed by the Work Health and Safety Act, 2011
(worksafe.qld.gov.au 2018). So far there are few incidents regarding the breaching of legislation
have been reported in Australia.

One of the most important factor that need to be maintained in the health care setting is
washing hands.
The World Health Organization has provided five moments of hygiene and the Australian
Government has implemented effective hand washing program according to the five
moments.
According to the rule of washing hand there are five task during which health
professionals and other staffs should maintain hand hygiene, for example-
o Before touching a patient.
o Before aseptic procedure.
o After touching the patient.
o After exposure to pathogenic substance or body fluid.
o After exposure or touching the surroundings of the patient.
Maintaining such steps is considered as the practice compliance with the mandate Clean
Care is Safer Care (who.int 2018).
Answer 2.2
The communication material need to be simple so that individual from diverse
background could understand the content. It is important to publish the communication material
in the websites and social media to make it accessible to wide range of people. The
communication material should not abuse any cast in the society and should maintain all the
policies of the health care center for example, the copy right policy and property rights
(Oaic.gov.au. 2018). Such process would help to avoid ethical issues in an effective manner.

Answer 3.1
It is important for the role of manager in the health industry to clear the post description
as the manager play an important role to communicate with the wider medical team and the
patient party as well. Another important role of the manager is to analyze the situation in the
health care setting and take proper decision according to the report of analysis. Proper rewards
such as salary, incentives and promotion are provided to the manager according to their
experience and performance (Pegram et al. 2014).
In order to gather information about the role one could search the website of specific
organization or the government websites could be searched to collect adequate information about
PD. To find out the rewards the company database would be helpful (Pegram et al. 2014).

One of the main responsibility of the health care manager is to maintain the safety factor
in the health care settings. It should be managed by the managers according to the standard by
medical legislation as provided by the government. In this regards the manager should provide
high priority to the factors of patient safety. In addition the safety of the health workforce is also
important to manage by the manager (Pegram et al. 2014).

The cooperation of other health care staffs is most important in order to fulfil the job
responsibility of a health care manager. In this regards effective communication with the
multidisciplinary team is most important. Both the verbal and non-verbal communication play a
vital role, Verbal communication includes face to face communication and non-verbal includes

body posture during conversation and greetings. The manager should allow the other staffs to
show their views and perceptions and communicate with the manager without hesitation (Gittell,

On the other hand the manager need to deal and communicate with the other departments
and sectors in the hospital, as it is important to create link between the different sectors of
hospital in order to promote cooperation and run the health service in an effective manner
(Gittell, Godfrey and Thistlethwaite 2013).
Answer 3.4
The different issues include-
Ethical issue- It could occur due to the violation of rules and regulation by the staffs
(Schwartz et al. 2013).
Training regarding issue- Such issues are associated with professional skills related to
training, lack of assessment and improvement in the training as well (Schwartz et al.
2013).
Regulatory issue- It is mainly associated with the cost and expenditure of the health care
organization and also due to continuous changes in the rules and regulation, insurance
and other costly services (Schwartz et al. 2013).
As a manager it is important to investigate the actors contributing to the development of
such issues and introduce effective strategies to mitigate the issues in an effective manner. In
addition, the manager should introduce holistic approaches and introduce training and policies

Answer 3.5
In order to perform the job role in an effective manner the manager should pose the
adequate leadership skill, management skill, communication skill and skill to take proper

In order to set goals, plan for skills and develop the job role, information could be access
through meeting with the wider medical team as it allows the manager to advocate for the role
and advice the team regarding professionalism (Kongstvedt 2012).
Future goals may focus on the training of the staffs, effective communication and proper
guidance to the staffs to play their role effectively (Kongstvedt 2012).
