INTRODUCTION
Promoting health enables population to enhance control and improvements on their own
health addition to determinants (Bunch, 2016). The present assessment discusses about process
to develop public health policy, potential groups who may influence the policy and ways
government monitors health of nation. It also highlights factors affecting health of nation and
potential benefits of improving health in nation. Further, two models are evaluated and
approaches are discussed. At last, health promotion event is developed and its effectiveness is
analysed.
TASK 1
1.1 Discussion on process for developing public health policy
Public health policy is the tool which help states to protect people against threats to
health, striving for populations and preventing disease. Following are the steps that are involved
in development of public heath policy:
The first step in which detailed understanding about specific problem are obtained and
problems are described.
The second step is to assess readiness for development of policy.
The third stage in which clear goals, objectives are defined for policy options.
Fourth stage is about identification of influencers as well as decision makers to support
building efforts.
In fifth stage, channels and mediums are selected so to persuade decision makers to
initiate development of policy.
In sixth stage, specific logistical as well as legal details are defined about policy.
Within seventh stage, it is ensured that all pre requisites are positioned to implement the
policy (Siu, 2020).
1.2 Identifying potential groups who can influence public health policy
Public heath policy is influenced by multiple number of groups that are as follows:
Politicians as well as political parties: Local, regional and state level political parties
have role and interest in public health policy that results in engaging general public.
Interest groups: It influences public health policy through lobbying that includes
communication with population in powerful positions for attaining objectives of policy.

1.3 Explaining the ways government monitors health of the nation
Government of a nation monitors health through adopting various mechanisms. For
example, government of UK monitors health by initiating transparency through accreditation of
health care providers addition to hospitals (Bartley, 2016). To monitor health status, government
also uses clinical as well as pathological measures by using specific measurement instruments.
Moreover, population monitoring system, wireless health monitoring system, etc are also used by
government with the aim of monitoring heath of the country.
TASK 2
2.1 Discussion of factors affecting health across the nation
Health is affected by multiple factors and some are as discussed:
Social and economic environment: It is the factor that comprises of jobs, social support,
education and income. All these factors affect health across country as when a nation have access
to quality of education, social support and safe neighbours then it impacts positive towards its
health.
Health behaviours: This is said to the choices which affect length and quality related to
nation's health (Carayon 2016). Behavioural changes in certain areas affect outcomes of health
and quality of life of a nation.
2.2 Discussion of potential benefits of improving health across the nation
Improvements in health of nation have potential benefits as healthy population is nation's
important assets. This allows the nation to participate in international life and different
communities. It also reduces costs which are spend by the nation on various medical treatments.
Through improving health of country, overall economy rapidly rises and strengthens growth rate.
It also fosters functionality of nation in well mental, social, physical and derives sense of well-
being.
TASK 3
3.1 Evaluation of two models commonly used in health promotion
The two models that are widely used in promotion of health are as evaluated:
Collection action model: As per Cuesta and Gwynne (2016), it is evaluated that the
model benefits in attaining health outcomes as it comprises ideas about community

empowerment and engages community to improve structure of healthcare system. In contrary,
limitation of the model is that it consumes huge time to promote about aspects of health in

Self empowerment model: According to Ebrahimi and et. al. (2016), it have been
evaluated that the model benefits ion developing ability of an individual to control own health
status within best possibilities in their surroundings. However, it do not target population groups
and affects social norms.
3.2 Discussion of approaches commonly used to increase public awareness
The approaches which are commonly adopted to enhance public awareness are as
discussed:
Hosting social events: With the approach, reason to get together social along with fun
are made and then some information are tacked about causes in order to make public aware about
their health.
Distributing brochures: Brochures are said to promotional documents that are used for
the purpose of enhancing awareness related to any topic within public.
TASK 4
4.1 Producing health promotion material for target audience
Health is state of being free from any type of injury and illness. To improve health, it is
essential for an individual to get regular check-ups, enjoying de- stressing, getting to bed earlier,
checking own ergonomics addition to posture, doing crossword puzzle, regular exercising and
eating healthy diet (Hubley and Copeman, 2018). Targetted population are advised to use safety
precautions so to keep themselves and society safe.
4.2 Delivering small heath promotion campaign
Health promotion campaign are delivered to improves awareness of population about
their own and society's health. Small health promotion campaign with the name of “Health in
working age population” is delivered to generate awareness for improving health conditions of
working age population. The aim of the promotion campaign is to engage as well as empower
population and communities to select healthy behaviours together with making changing which
reduce risks related to developing chronic diseases addition to other morbidities. The campaign

assist employers and employees to analyse main causes of poor health and eliminating them so
that all the health conditions are properly maintained and good health is promoted.
4.3 Analysing effects of campaign
Health promotion campaign have wide range of effects on individuals as well as social
settings. Within individuals, immediate effects of campaign are improving health knowledge,
changes in actions concerned with health, etc. It raises awareness with social setting about health
issues and fosters people to seek services and data.
CONCLUSION
From the assessment, it is concluded that promoting health within population is very
important as it protect them from certain disease and maintains their health. Potential groups that
have chances to influence public health policy are Interest groups, politicians as well as political
parties. Factors affecting health across the nation are health behaviours, social and economic
environment. The two models used in health promotion includes collection action model and self
empowerment model. Key approaches that are used for increasing public awareness are hosting
social event and distributing brochures.
