1.3 Discuss reason for barriers to accessing health care
There are many barriers to accessing health care and people try to avoid visiting health and
social care sectors or visit doctors and take advice for their problems. These barriers are given
below:
Physical barriers: Physical barriers majorly affects the health care services and health of
each individual as well. Individual majorly faced the problem regarding the services
provided by health care sectors. There are some of the patients who are not able to take the
services provided by the health care sectors in the way of physical inability, patients who are
unable to walk and not able to enter building because doorway is too narrow. These are the
factors that affects the services of health and social care.
Psychological barrier: These type of fear mainly affects the way of thinking of each
individual and has an effective impact on the providing services of health and social care.
For example: Sarah suffering from depression and can't be able to attend the health care
services. They both suffer from the problem of smoking and drinking and they do not able to
take the services providing from health care sectors.
Financial barrier: Financial barrier is the major factor in the case of given scenario,
because Peter and Sarah suffers from the low income problem and they can't be able to take
the services of health and social care sectors. They are not able to afford the services and
because of that they do not get the medicine and treatment what they want at instant of time
in health and social care(Neiger and et.al., 2012).
License case law-UK government has been developed the various law and legislation
related to licence in the health and social care services. In order to organise the health
and social care organisation, it is very important to take the licence and make
registration from the governmental authority.
TASK 2

Health promotion is very important in the reduction of disease and the risk in individuals in
UK. Currently in UK population suffer from the disease like cardiovascular, diabetes and obesity or
more and these type of disease arise due to smoking and drinking as well. In health promotion
model Beattie's health promotion model is very effective and identifies the four paradigms like

Health persuasion is mainly influence that what is the effective outcomes of health and
behaviour of patients as well. It includes the effective partnership working for the all plans and
majorly leads to improve the patients behaviour and outcomes as well.
Personal counselling includes the processing like patient take advice from their psychologist
and then apply the strategy to improve the disease like diabetes and cardiovascular or more.
Community development is mainly focuses on the developing new strategies and plan to
improve the services of health and social care. In order to achieve the success in health and social
care, they must be provide the best services to their customers and improve their strategies
accordingly. Peter and Sarah suffers from the smoking and drinking type of disease and the model
of health promotion states that to quit the smoking and drinking as soon as possible. Because of
quitting smoking and drinking will improve the life cycle of them. Social care sectors know that
give up on smoking and drinking is difficult but yet this is not impossible for patients who addict to
smoking and drinking. Health promotion is ensure that inform each individual about the difficulties
and aware about the risk as well. This models helps patients to improve their health and develop the
social interaction as well(Richard, Gauvin and Raine, 2011).
Example 1- Health promotion campaign for the children have major aim is to provide the
awareness among the society to protect their child from the disease and unhealthy food. Its

primary school. In this health promotion campaign the target group of children are age of 5 to 15
year. In order to organise and promote the health of children, various activities can organise like
regular monitoring of meal providers, regular check up on 6 months basis etc. In the planning of

phases that is health persuasion, legislative action, personal counselling and community
development. In the first phase health persuasion organiser needed to focus on why behaviour is
happening. In the second phase, legislative action requires to focus on the act and policies. In the
third phase community development requires empowerment community level skill and in the last
phase personal counselling involves greater control.
Example 2- Health promotion campaign for the old age people whose age 70 year above. The major
objective of this health promotion campaign is to promote the awareness among the old age people
about their health and healthy food which good for their health. For this purpose various activities

scenario. The health care professional majorly covers the wide area of health care sector and it
includes doctors, nurses, physical therapist, pharmacist, nutritionist or more. Health care
professionals and health promotion models has an impact on achieving the success in health care
sectors like deliver best services to their patients and promote health and provide essential services

As a healthcare professional the most important thing is to keep balance between patients
and their requirements and demands from the healthcare sectors. Governing principles plays most
effective role in achieving the set target goals of healthcare sectors and provide best services to their
customers as well. In this case a family physician of Peter and Sarah plays a vital role in improving
their health and conditions so that they can able to improve their health with the help of health
model as well(Soler and et.al., 2010).
Healthcare professionals need to understand their own roles and responsibilities regarding
the disease and patient's requirements and demands as well. They work in a team and improve the
quality of providing services as well. Mainly the role of healthcare professional depends on the
specific requirements of the patient and their demands from healthcare sectors and the disease as
well.
To meet the government set targets and rules professional of a healthcare sector must need to
know the policy of government regarding health care sector and then apply the applicable strategy
to improve the services. Each individual has their own roles and responsibilities in healthcare
sectors and they work according to the need of patients. Peter and Sarah suffering from low income
rate and depression and diabetes problem as well so that they can deal with their physician and
