INTRODUCTION
Health and social care is form that connected to services that are available from health
and social welfare providers in UK. Public health awareness is one of the most important think
or activity that has been conducted for addressing health issues and provide information how to
prevent it (Baum and Fisher, 2014). The present essay explain health protection and promotion
activity and also clarifies the methods of prevention and controlling communicable and non-
communicable diseases. Furthermore, it will justify methods that used for protecting and
promoting public health and their effectiveness for two disease.

Health promotion is procedure of enabling people to maximize control over and to
improve their health. It covers broad area of environmental and social interventions that are
planned to protect and benefit each people's health and quality of their life by identifying and
preventing base causes of ill health, health promotion not just centering on cure and treatment. It
is one of the best promotional activity that helps people to aware about diseases and explain
methods for preventing. WHO, Red cross and other health and social care organizations used
health promotion activity prevent public from illness. It is a behavioral social science that stand
from environmental, biological, physical and medical science to promote health and preclude
disability, disease and premature death through impelled voluntary behavior change actions and
education. Health promotion is development or improvement of individual, institutional, group
of people, community. With the help of health promotion organizations improve people
knowledge more in context of protecting health, improve their attitudes, behavior and skills.
Health promotion is very beneficial for people because it improves health status of
public, communities and families and nation (Golechha, 2016). It enhances quality of people life
and reduces premature deaths which harm others in society and effect their health. By focusing
on prevention, health publicity bring down the costs that employers, individuals, insurance firms,
communities, medical services, state and nation world spend on health or surgical treatments.
Health protection is way used by health and social care organizations to encompass
bunch of activities within public health functions, includes: ensuring quality of food and safety,
air, water and natural environment. Health prevention plan is conducted to warn public about
outbreaks of contagious disease that stated serious health risk.

Health promotion and prevention methods-
Health and social well fare organizations provide health education to people in
communities and children's in schools. Health education is one of the best prevention method or
process of educating people about their health. Areas within this profession include environment
health, physical health, intellectual as well as reproductive and sexual health education. Health
education motivate people to maintain and improve their health. WHO commission on social
determinants of health solving health inequalities. They provide guidance to other health
service centers and institutes for reducing health service inequalities in firm. They need to
provide equal health care facilities to all the people in community (Sorensen and et.al., 2016).
Government provide sanitation service in society that helps to improve housing qualities more
and more.
In England government organized campaign, Change 4life, it is one of the better health
promotional methods (Wrieden and Levy, 2016). They need to help families and aware people
through this event to improve their diets and daily activity levels.
School lunches makes essential contribution to children's whole health. School meals are
required to meet with the standards for schools lunches including Dietary Guidelines for
Americans. These standard refers to as “The meal pattern”, schools require offering their
students right balance of fruits, low fat, vegetables or fate free milk, lean protein and whole
grains with every meal.
Schools arrange parents meeting or events where they explain importance of National no
smoking day. They try to prevent children's and their families from harm from smoking, and also
try to aware staff members about their health which get effected by smoking. National no
smoking day is one of the campaign run by British heart Foundation, to help smokers who need
to quit smoking by creating supportive environment.
Advantage of no smoking for nation- No smoking reduce risk of heart attacks, it is
beneficial for people health as well as nation (Blomberg, Tyrberg and Kjølhede, 2014). Smoking
increase the risk of developing coronary heart illness by low good cholesterol, that makes heart
healthy activity harder to do. No smoking rewire brain and help people to break out the cycle of
addiction. No smoking day works better to aware people abut the harm of health from smoking.
Disadvantage of smoking for nation- Smoking harm heart and reduce their healthiness
more and more. It develops heart disease, lung cancer, stroke etc. that directly impact on people

health and many people get died due to smoking. Smoking increased health risk and it also
influenced nation. It is one of the main causes of illness and death in UK, every year 78,000
people in country die from smoking.

If person caught disease from other animal or person, it is called a communicable
disease. These diseases usually caused by bacteria or viruses and passed through interact with
contaminated place, air and also through contact with bodily fluids, for example, Hepatitis.
Methods for preventing Hepatitis A,B,C-
Hepatitis is caused by virus as microorganism that infects liver cells and causes
inflammation, it affects how liver works (Bhatnagar and et.al., 2016). Preventing from this
disease is very important for maintaing healthy living standards. To reduce risk of catching or
spreading hepatitis A,B,C virus: people always need to wash their hands exhaustively after using
restroom and when they come in interact with an infected individual's stools, blood and other
bodily fluid. In house people are required to prevent their family members from hepatitis in
which they need to boil water at 85 degree before cooking because it helps to killed harmful
germs, Adequate chlorination of water also destroy hepatitis virus.
Control hepatitis disease-
Vaccination, appropriate medicine and specialist consultations is one of the best way to
control hepatitis disease, taking medication also helps to relieve symptoms of this virus.
Non-communicable disease also known as chronic disease, incline to be of long time
and are outcomes of combination of genetic, environmental, physiological and behaviors factors
(Islam and et.al., 2014). Cancers is one of the non-communicable disease that affect people
health and make them ill.
Prevention methods from Cancer- To prevent causes of cancer people need to eat
vegetables, fruits and other foods from plant sources like beans and whole grains. They have to
eat lighter food items and avoid obesity. Green tea is a powerful antioxidant and essential part of
anti cancer diet. Green tea work as cancer fighting food, that help in preventing liver, pancreatic,
breast, skin and lung cancer.
Control cancer as non-communicable disease- cancer patients should do to the doctor
or cancer specialist who helps to control this disease. Hormone therapy is one the best cancer
controlling method include taking medications.

M3 Methods used for protecting and promoting public health
Controlling unhealthy food advertising- unhealthy food advertisement attract children's
the most because young generation like to eat fast food, such as pizza, burger etc. that directly
influence upon their health and make them ill. Alcohol and tobacco advertising were banned
from television because of health risk to public. Fast food advertising affect children's and
increase obesity most among at early age children directly. To prevent people or children's from
harm full disease unhealthy and tobacco television add should need to be banned.
Promotion of the use of safety equipment, legislation- Through promotion of using
safety equipment during cooking is one of the best public health protecting way. With the help of
this method people know more about how to clean kitchen equipment that helps to protect people
for eating contaminated food (Haghighi and et.al., 2017). Promotion aware restaurants that they
need to follow food safety legislation and adopt their principles in process of cooking food. For
example, in many restaurants staff do not washed food or vegetables properly, that causes
hepatitis disease which affect people health. By promotion restaurants get aware about following
legislation which is required for public health safety.
Parent education- Schools guide parents or educate them to reduce their children's time
which they spend watching TV and playing games on computers. Number of fast food
advertisement display on TV daily that attract children's for eating unhealthy food. Using
computers or spending time by using it more increase risk of mental disability and illness. With
the help of parent education schools reduce harm from mental illness for children's.
Parenting support- Parents support children's when they are spending a lot of time by
watching TV, they need to spend some time with them and do some fun activities. In Many
countries community designed parent support programs to promote flow of resources and helps
to parent that strength functioning and boost growth and improvement or development of young
children.
Road shows- Road shows and public health awareness rally is the better methods of
health promotion where group of many peoples' aware general people to do not eat unhealthy
food, wash hands before and after eating food (Berg, Ifver and Hasselberg, 2016). Road shows
has been organized by many charitable trust to motivate people in context of eating healthy food
and do not smoke because it harms healthiness. For example, cancer is one of the most serious

and reduce risk of harm.
D2 Effectiveness of methods that used to protect and promote public health
Banding unhealthy food advertisement is one of the best and most effective way used to
protect public health. Due to this method people or children's will stay away from eating harmful
and unhealthy things that increase risk of harm from hepatitis disease which spreads from eating
and drinking contaminated foods.
Road shows is one of the finest public health promotional activity because it aware public
more to do not used unclean equipment and increase knowledge for the importance of cleaning
and hygienic premises.
Parent support work effectively on children's most at the age of 2, with the help of parent
support or contribution schools and communities safe their health which get affected by
watching TV.
CONCLUSION
The current essay discuss about the heath promotion and protection meaning and their
importance for public health. It has been concluded that Health education, increase health
equality, Change 4life program and including nutrition in school meal is one of the best
prevention and health promotion methods that helps people to stay fir and healthy in their lives.
Hepatitis is communicable and Cancer is non-communicable disease that will be prevented and
controlled by using different methods such as washing hands, avoid eating fast food etc.
Furthermore, it discussed about the road shows, parenting support, band unhealthy food
advertisement in context of methods that will be used for promoting and securing public health
and also discusses about effectiveness of all the above methods' used to promote and protect
public health for Hepatitis and cancer diseases.
