Purpose
Each country globally they are toiling to improve their medical services for all the citizens. As a
result of the upcoming changes especially in the health sector, many of the countries are adopting
the implementation of the new health system which would help in improving the services which
are provided to the citizens (Ben-Assuli, 2015). The commonwealth Government of Australia is
one such country that is looking forward to improve on the health sector through
commercialization of the use of the new system regarded as ‘My health record’. In this research,
it will describe problem, capabilities and the benefits associated with this system.
Problem
The ‘My Health Record system’ is based upon the desire for the Health Industry to keep the
process of reforming the drive efficiencies into the health care system, enhancing the quality of
health, as well as lack of data which is shared by the patients; such as reducing the rate of
hospital admissions as a result of prescribed medications (Duckett & Willcox, 2015). With the
system individuals will be able to control precisely what moves into their My Health Record on
who is permitted to gain access to it. My health Record system allows the doctors, hospitals and
healthcare providers to view and share personal information to offer best care (Duckett &
Willcox, 2015). ‘My health Record’ system will help to address on these issue especially in
storing of the patient information.

capabilities of the system it has the ability to alert the providers to the potential drug to drug
interactions. Additionally is secure and it helps to keep individuals personal health data more

the wellbeing of the information and at the same time facilitate better understanding on the
health problems.
Benefits
The overall aim of the health system would be to improve on the health of the patients while at
the same time improving on the health system efficiencies. The usage of My Health Record
system would provide the following benefits due to its implementation by the Common Health
government in Australia (Wickramasinghe & Haddad, 2016).
Digital health for the patients: It is much easier how the patients could benefit from My Health
Record system (Johnson, Rollins & Hawthorne, 2017). Every visit to the healthcare professional
