INTRODUCTION
Safety, security and health are three essential terms that requires to examined in Health &
social care. In the modern area, all persons are wants and needs security and safety for their
lives . So it is define as a government responsibility in order to take care entire employees who
are functioning or working in an enterprise. In this, they have to obligatory several kinds of
legislation about maintain individual health (Baum, 2016). This report is based on NHS which is
health and social care organisation. This assignment discussed about the harms and hazards that
rise in a HSC. It will also determined the procedures, policies and legislation as well as risk
assessment in a H&S settings. This study also identify the response and priorities which is vital
in dealing particular incidents.
TASK 1
P1 Potential hazards and the harm that may boost from each in a social and health care setting
There are certain kinds of hazards which are available in a H&S care settings. These are
determined under this:
Physical Environment: These are identified as an elements which are present in the
organisations. But without effective atmosphere that can rise as a case of harm to workers and
buyers (Explain potential hazards and the harm, 2017). There are certain hazards which includes
room temperature, noise pollutions and other things.
Equipments: In a H&S centre , it could includes of all things that rise as a case of
potentials injury to a setting or fixing that a people is in. For example: Nursery could give little
toys and other things which the children could put in their nose, ears as well as swallow it. This
is known as uncertainty to the kid because the baby could ingestion the toy which can block
child's airways.
Infections: There are certain kinds of infections which is available in a health care
setting. For examples: Regular use of particular injections that can generate different risks or
uncertainty for the service users (Black and et. al., 2011). Due to this, they can suffer from
Hepatitis C or B, HIV and other deceases.
Working conditions: One of the damagers part is long working period which is put in
every body. This will rise the losses capacity in order to work more in an effective manner.

Working Practices: There are certain conditions of working such as manual managing
training, working or functioning with difficult behaviours, and Food preparation etc., it can put
members and clients in risk. For instance: if food products are not equipped by keeping safety, it
can generate uncertainty after the food consumption.
Substances: Various types of substances which is used by H&S care and several are
tested to be hazardous to service user if they are used in an incorrect manner (Cunningham and
et. al., 2012). For instance: Wrong Usage of Bleach that can rise as an accident such as drinking
which can burns or comics to the badly and throat impact stomach.

Control of Substances Hazardous to health relations act (2002): It is made by the
government for the patients protections. According to this legislation, hazardous substances or
components that should be handled in a safe manner. It is known as a danger case which is face
by each and every person. For instance: substances such as bleach which is used in NHS as well
as misuse that can case as a uncertainty for personal. Such kind of acts states basic requirement
and needs on workers in order to protect them from the Hazards of substances.
Food Safety legislation (2004): In this act, all quality products and services are given to
the patients. This act is very essential and beneficial for the service user because in this all are
treated safely (Drummond and et. al., 2015). For example: service provider can give time to time
meals and healthy food for children and other patients in proper manner.

and rights. There are two incident which are determined under this:
suspected abuse in children: In this case, children sexual abuse is identified who are mainly
belongs to 16 years. Several user forcefully do several disrespectful activities or actions with
little children (Duckett and Willcox, 2015). It is common as well as serious case for them, so in
this government control this abuse and difficulty by stately strict legislation against this. There
are certain approach abuse which are determined under this:
 Searching a proper location in order to talk. Remain gather as well as quit all information by talking from kids.
Emergency like accidents: In H&S care different person are face serious accidents such as third
level burn and slipping from steps etc. Regardless of the process which is taken for maintaining

several accidents which is occur in a frequently. There are certain phase which are define under
this:
 Checking of environment for uncertainty of turning fire, vehicles, chemicals etc. So in
this, every one not should exist in that location.
 Second phase is priority which is determine the casualties severity injury, in this they can
find out all requires and needs that instant aid (Shi and Singh, 2014).
 Accurate first aid is also very important part that should be provided improper manner
that can lowest the situations.
CONCLUSION
As per the above mentioned report that can define the safety and healthy are very
required by each and every person. In order to maintained better care setting, in this hazards and
risk can be reduced. In regrades to maintain health and safety, different kinds of legislation
support the business in an effective manner. Control of Substances Hazardous to health relations
act (2002) and Food Safety legislation (2004) act are play essential role in giving better food
quality to service user.
