INTRODUCTION
There are three components which covers under health and social care, such as safety,
security and health. In recent time, each individual wants protection of their life (Sampson and
et. al., 2017). Present report is based on NHS which is doing providing health related services to
people. This assignment is going to describe policies as well as laws which are related to HSC
and they are following it adequately. Instead of this, there is a description about distinctive sorts
of dangers which are associated with division of health and social care.
TASK 1
P1 Potential hazards and harm that may arise in health and social care
Hazards will be considered as harm which is having capability to provide impact to a
diseased individual. This can de identify at any place, such as working place, house and another
places because in these spots people keep touch with various individuals, tool and many more
(Townsend and Morgan, 2017). Instead of this, there are some areas which is linked with danger
are stated as beneath:
Physical hazards: As NHS is situated on prime location which is basically a busy place
every time; therefore, this will develop harm who visit this place because of accident. In today
time, persons are driving roughly as well as aggressively which will create injury to others like
children.
Equipments: In firm, there are many instruments which need too much care; therefore, it
is essential for doctors to use them carefully and if they are not using them then, they need to
keep it securely. Sockets will get over load which will carry risk to others who are nearby
through fire. This will lead to major happening and may be death also (Cooper and Quick, 2017).
Infection: Many times, people never understand the significance of health of other
individuals and they move at premises freely without having appropriate precaution. Immunity
system of children as well as old person is not much strong; thus, they can easily get ill or

There are many kinds of laws which are formulated by government in context of health
and social care. This needs to be follow by NHS:
Control of substances Hazardous to health relations act (2002): This law is formulated
by regulatory body to secure patients. As indicated by this, it is required for company to handle
hazardous factors in an adequate way (Rösslein and et. al., 2017). This is considered as much
dangerous as it can be face by every individual. For an example: a component like bleach is
utilized by National Health Service and this can be misused also if there is an uncertainty.
Therefore, this types of legislation aid to protect employees from any risk.
Health and safety at work act (1974): As per this act, administration division of NHS has
to ensure that they are utilizing all security measures; so that, they will protect their employees
from any injury at work place.
Food safety legislation (2004): As per this law, it is necessary to provide best quality
items to patients. Therefore, this law is much advantageous for clients as with assistance of this
quality products will provide to people. Such as, it is must to give food to patients timely so that
they will take their medicines on time and then will get recovered perfectly (Barnes and
Bendixsen, 2017).

Abuse will be determined according to a case of hazards which will develop of there is
breach of rights of an individual (Chirila, Nuamah and Woodruff, 2017). Therefore, there are two
cases which are identified in this relation:
Suspected abuse in children: As indicated by this case, sexual abuse in children is found
out who are almost 15 years or more. Many people do distinctive kinds of negative actions with
small girls. This is much common and in addition serious act; thus, it is required for ministry
bodies to formulate some strict laws to protect children from any misconduct. Some methods
which are identifies into this, which are mentioned as beneath:
It is necessary to search an adequate place to talk (Sherwood and Barnsteiner, 2017).
Collect some proper and effective data as well as information through talk to children.

Emergency like accidents: In National Health Service, there are many people came who
affected from many accidents like burn, slipped from stairs and so on. There are some steps
which will be associated with this process is mentioned as below:
It is required to check out environment to determine uncertainty which is related to
chemical, fire and so forth. Therefore, it is must for persons to be their at spot.
Another step is considered as a priority which is identified through some casual injuries.
In this, individual needs immediate help.
First aid is another significant part which has to be given to persons for any lower
circumstances (Pain and et. al., 2017).
CONCLUSION
From above assignment it has been understood that safety as well as health is
fundamental for every individual. To keep it secure, it is required to decrease risk or hazards in
an effective way. For this, there are many kinds of acts are formulated by government which
need to be follow by firm. In this report, there is discussion about two incidents which are facing
more people in recent time.
