INTRODUCTION
Health and social care in the UK is currently being influenced by increasing
commitments towards greater involvement of public. Health and social care organisation makes
their plans as per the needs and wants of people living in the society as well as specific problems
and issues in terms of health of the people. In this present assignment, Voluntary Service
Overseas (VSO) of UK is chosen. It was found by Alec and Mora Dickson in 1958. It is an
interactional charity organisation which is working in more than 25 countries. This report will
analyse the impact of external factors on functions and operations of organisation. Further,
culture of organisation will also be discussed in this report. At the end, concept of leadership in
organisation will be discussed.

There are number of organisational structures in Health and Social care which are
describes as below-
The Front-line- In Social health care, there are care takers which are the key persons of
the organisation like nurses, nurse practitioner and physical therapist. They are called as front
line providers of services as because they give facilities to people (Castells and et.al., 2018). To
achieve this position in the health care field, it required proper skills and knowledge to provide
proper care to patients. In VSO, front line staff are highly qualified and trained workers as they
are directly interacting with patients. Doctors, nurse and all other service providers in health care
has entire responsibilities regarding heath of patients.
Assistant Employees- Assistance employees are those who are responsible for ensuring
health and social care is running in effective way. In health and Social Care organisation, it is
very essential to have extensive assistance staff. The staff of VSO is very effective as they are
qualified and have full-fledge knowledge in health care field. It is the duty of Human Resource
department of organisation to recruit the most skills and knowledgeable as well as qualified
employees in health care as any mistake or misshapenness by any employees may lead to loss of
life. In VSO, assistant employees like secretary, receptionists are well qualified.

culture of organisation should be like that it enhance the satisfaction level of staff as well as

staff have effective communicating skills as they reach and answer any talk in positive and in
elegant way with patients and with collogues (Ferri, Davoli and Perucci, 2018). The working
