THE CONTEMPORARY ISSUES OF
HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE SECTOR
 Health and social care services have the main aim to
provide the medical and health related services to the
patients with quality and appropriate care delivery
support in there well being (Thissen and et. al., 2021).
 But to fulfil this aim the health and social care services
are facing the contemporary health issues due to the
Covid-19 and the Brexit in UK. The various
contemporary issues are:

 Shortage of staff: Due to the Brexit the EU policies has
restricted the freedom of movement for the employees
working in the healthcare services of the UK thereby
creating a shortage of nurses and doctors in UK.
 Mental health and human suffering: Covid-19 has
created the great impact on the mental health and the
physical health of the citizens of the UK.

 Low finance and funding: Due to the covid-19 there
was heavy steep in the economy of UK which has
decreased the finances and funding of the health care and
social care as there was heavy cost of treatment but the
payments were low.
 The Brexit has stopped the high funding in health care
by the EU.

THE LOCAL PERSPECTIVE AND ITS IMPACT ON CARE DELIVERY
 Local perspective means the contribution of the local
government the citizens in the healthcare services this
includes the local health care practitioners, service users
action groups, and the local media.
 Local perspective rings influence on the care delivery of
the health care and the social care services through the
reflection of their attitude and behaviour.

RECOMMENDATION RELATED TO MINIMIZING DISRUPTIONS TO
SERVICES PROVIDED
 After the above analysis of the contemporary issues
faced by the health and social care sector because of
spread of corona virus and UK vote to leave EU.
 It is recommended that the if the measures that are taken
in Covid-19 are properly implemented in the nation
health care services than the delivery system of
healthcare can provide the most impactful and positive
outcomes.

Covid-19 to treat the positive patients can be later used
by the government of the UK in managing the inventory
of health care and also help in recruiting the employees
regarding that which will increase the economy
(McCormack, and Dewing, 2019).
 It is also recommended that the corporation deal between
the UK and EU can decrease the disruption caused in the
health and social care sectors. The immigration visa will
allow the social workers to work in NHS in UK thereby
reducing the staff shortage.
