Children and Young People in The Health and Social Sector.
Children and young people play a major role in the health sector. Due to their weakened immune
system, they are more exposed to diseases and appropriate intervention should be implemented
to ensure their wellbeing (Skinner, Sogstad, and Tingvold 2019, pp.999-1011). Children also
require a support system that will help them develop the appropriate social skills. Being minors,
they also require specialized services that will ensure that their rights are maintained, and they
grow in the proper environment. The topic of this research is understanding the range of services
and their roles in the health and social care towards the children and the young people. This topic
is justified because through knowing the services that are available to a community, it is possible
to develop the appropriate interventions that will improve the quality of the social and health
care, especially to individuals in their early years. The aim of this research project is to
understand the various services that are in the community regarding childcare. This research also
aims understanding the role that the services play within the health and social care. Ethical
considerations will be applied during the data collection process and all information collected
will be kept confidential (Gradinger et al. 2019, pp 48)
Literature review
In a community, there are various services available for health and social care for the young
people and children. Service provisions are arrangement for supplying something that is needed
by the public. examples of services provisions are children centers, preschool care, acute hospital
services, tele care, general practitioner services, early childhood education centers, pharmacies in
hospitals and healthcare centers, court of law and so much more. These services are provided by

e council, National Health Services, private enterprises or voluntary sectors (Skinner, Sogstad,
and Tingvold 2019, pp.999-1011).
The services provided to the young people can be divided into four groups, private, statutory,
informal and voluntary sectors. Statutory service are services which are provided to everyone by
the law. They are usually funded by the government and in most instances they are free. An
example is the public primary education (Skinner, Sogstad, and Tingvold 2019, pp.999-1011).
Private services are owned by enterprises and usually the individual must pay a certain fee in
order to access them. An example is the private clinics. On other hand, voluntary services are
services that are provided by a private organization however, the staff are not paid for the
services they offer neither do the patients pay to obtain the services. Informal care series are
services that are provided by a friend, family or neighbor. They complement the work that is
provided by statutory or private serves. An example of an informal service is emotional support
that parent provides to the children in the form of listening to them and building their self-esteem
(Bach-Mortensen, and Montgomery 2019, p.e022975).
Each service plays a unique role in development of health and social care of the children. The
services can provide intellectual support, build the self-esteem of children, maintain the child’s
health, promote growth and development, safeguard the rights of the children, challenge
discrimination, promote independence and support the children with special needs (Rodrigues,
and Glendinning 2015, pp.649-664).
Research methods
There are different types of research for example, randomized clinical trials, systemic reviews,
cross-sectional studies, retrospective studies, progressive studies among others. In this research,

a systemic review study design will be chosen. The method used to collect data will be analysis
of the published data. The researcher will conduct a search strategy of the services provided in a
community and collect data based on the services in the area and the role they play. The data
collected will be analyzed using statistical tools and the interpreted data will be presented in
tables. It is important to ensure that the data collected is valid and reliable to ensure credibility of
the results that will be obtained (Kroezen 2018, pp. 213-039).
Conducting the research project
While conducting a research project, there are various sources of support that will be required.
The major source of support will be the members of the community. Through observing the
members of the community, it is possible to know their needs. This play a major role in knowing
the role played by the various service providers. Another source of support will be the primary
stakeholders in service provision. The employees or the staff at a service provision can help in
providing information about the services that they offer to the community (Skinner, Sogstad, and
Tingvold 2019, pp.999-1011).
The plan for this project involved drawing a time schedule to indicate how much time will be
spent on each aspect of the research for example data collection, data analysis and data
presentation. In addition, a detailed budget will be drawn to predict possible expenses that may
be required and to know the total funding of the entire project (Skinner, Sogstad, and Tingvold
2019, pp.999-1011).
The research method for this project is systemic review. The research questions that will be used
within the project will include:
 What are the services that children and young people have access to?

 What role do these services play in health and social care?
 What other services do the children and young people require but are not provided with?
The research was conducted by completing a systemic review. An appropriate search strategy
that had an inclusion and exclusion criteria and selected key words was used to collect and
record the data available
Analysis of research findings
The use of statistical method was selected as a data analysis method for this research. From the
result that were obtained a conclusion can be drawn. There are various service provisions in the
community. Some of these services are designed for entire community for example, general
practitioner services while others are specific to the children for example pre school care. Theses
service provision play a major role in the development of health and social care. They ensure that
the young people are receiving appropriate care and have developed the necessary social skills.
Form the findings of this research, it is evident that some services are underutilized, and this
could be attributed to lack of awareness by the public (Skinner, Sogstad, and Tingvold 2019,
pp.999-1011).
The findings of this research substantiate the initial literature review. The findings show that
there are different types of service providers just as it was indicated in the literature review. The
findings have also shown that the service provisions play a major role in the health and social
care of the children and young people. Without these services the young people will be at a high
risk of developing diseases and will fail to develop the required skills for social wellbeing
(Hunter et al. 2015, pp.1056-1064)

It is recommended that or future research, the systemic review should be enlarged to
communities in different geographical areas. This will help provide data that can be implemented
across the various communities. It will also reduce bias in the data that is collected by the
researcher. Collecting data from various communities will also help the researcher develop
interventions that can be implemented across a variety of settings (Gottlieb,Tobey, Cantor,
Hessler, and Adler 2016, pp.2116-2123).
The research findings have a variety of use withing the practice. Using this results the gap in the
health and social care of the young people ad children is evident. Within the course of the
practice, improvements in the health and social care can be advocated. The research findings can
also be used to develop interventions that will help create awareness of the underutilized service
provisions in the community (Costa, and Mendonça 2019, pp.968-982).
